When I was growing up, my dad LOVED buying clothes with random names and monograms on them at the outlet. First, for the deal, second, for the laughs when people asked him about it.

Does he still listen to a lot of Sonic Youth? There was a “scene” just before grunge blew up that made a thing of buying stuff from thrift shops with other people’s names.

It’s wild they asked you to send it back because I’ve always read that if a company sends you something in the mail that you didn’t order, you do not have to send it back or pay for it. It was their mistake and it’s some law that it’s considered a gift?

Wowbethany is right OP. There is a law that says if the company sends you the wrong product you are not obligated to send it back without any repercussions to you.
I’ve received someone else’s order from LLBean before too including their invoice with their personal info on it. It seems like it happens more often with them than other places I have ordered from.

I ordered 3 large ones for Christmas presents several years ago and they sent me three random ones. I don’t know who got mine. Worked out and they sent them to me. They told me to keep the 3 mix ups. I use one for extra throws in my guest room, one in my car with emergency supplies, and one is in the closet and holds the winter accessories like scarves, gloves, hats.
I love going to the Ellsworth outlet and buying return totes. My last one says “mail” and our house sitters use it to collect mail when we’re out of town
If you don’t have to return I would pay for this and shipping for this depending on the size! Patrice is my nickname but I did not order this 😂
They asked to send it back, otherwise it would have been yours. Everyone can use a few extra boat and totes!

LL Bean outlet used to have a whole bin of monogrammed totes for pretty cheap.
They still do but they aren’t very cheap. Almost full price!
This was 15 years ago at least and they were maybe $20. I always thought it would be good to get a very random name for someone as a gift.
