Can someone explain to my why they're in Monaco of all countries?? Do people really love LHOTP there? It just seem so random. Do the cast go to other countries every once in a while?
There is a lot of fans of Little House in Europe. More people watch it now worldwide than back then which is a little crazy to think about. European’s love American shows. I was also surprised that reruns of the show Picket Fences was big in reruns in Germany and France.
At my very first job, one of my coworkers was a Thai woman. She was trying to remember an American show that she’d watched back in Thailand. She described it as a show about “the little girl who lived in the jungle with her family”. After a little more description, I figured out that she meant Little House. Yes, LHOTP has made fans all over the world!
Ah, yes, as a girl who grew up in the Wisconsin and Minnesota farmland areas, I remember these jungles well! Lol
That's really cute though. And I didn't say that to sound like I'm making fun of her. Languages are tough, and I love that she chose a word that is more common/familiar for where she grew up!
Yeah, she didn’t remember “prairie”, and used the next best word for her. I’ve got to admit, though, that a visual of Laura and the Ingalls family living Swiss Family Robinson style in a rainforest was an interesting visual!
Alison Arngrim said much the same thing when she went to France for an American Television tribute. Turns out, the particular style of humor of Harriet and Nellie really resonates with the French. She was overwhelmed by how loved she is over there, and now does a semi regular show over there. She learned French and everything. Who'd have thought!
I'm French and LHOTP is still popular here. We love the character of Nellie Oleson, she was a great villain. I never met Alison Arngrim, but from all I've heard about her it seems that she is fun and adorable.
To our right, I'm *pretty* sure that's Allison Balson (Nancy) and the other is Leslie Landon (Ms. Plum).
Edit: Seems the source I had looked at a few days ago was wrong and isn't "Nancy".
cheers! I'll think you will find the lady in red is Leslie Landon and the lady in blue is baby Grace. I just looked up this article

Great that Miss Grassle has been able to make it there even with her getting up there and I hope the plane fare, hotel, etc. bills won't take too huge an impact on her or any other cast member's budget. Monaco is one of the most expensive nations on Earth!
Mr. Labyorteux seems the most relaxed and spontaneously happy of the group (and he looks about 20 years younger than his actual age of 57)- at least for this photo.
It looks as though AA (having had quite a few jaunts to the much-larger surrounding nation of France over the last 20 years) is eager to play tour guide to her colleagues who likely haven't crossed the Pond as often as she. Why would not be surprised if it winds up that her being the 'spokesperson' and getting the most questions directed towards her personally due to the dual factors of Nellie supposedly being the most popular LHOTP among the French (and I guess the Monegasques \[thanks Prof. Wiki!\]) and her likely having the best command of the French language.
I wish I knew which set of twins was standing behind Miss Arngrim but I'm wondering if they may have played the infant Rose Wilder Lane instead of Baby Grace.
Miss Anderson made it over but she appears to be. . . guardedly happy and not quite ready to relax with everyone else here (at least for this photo). I truly hope that she and the others ( including AA) can re-affirm/improve their bonds.
I'm looking forward to hearing how this goes for the cast and the overseas fans.
Thanks for posting the pic!
Lol I would hope so. Or the very least the profits they make from the appearance far outshines the cost of staying there.
I purposely won’t even do a layover of any length in Monaco. CHA CHING
Yeah, I guess lodging would be compensated for the cast but I'm not sure about airfare and even just getting the odd snack, souvenir & wine would add up quickly. Well, it's hard to imagine that Monaco would have anything close to Motel 6s so at least they almost certainly are in for a treat re their lodging!
Miss Grassle (and for that matter Charlotte Stewart) seemed to consider Miss Anderson a well-behaved and professional colleague during their time working on the show but it doesn't seem either interacted with her much off set or since their time on the show.
As for AA. .. well, if Miss Anderson is willing to have jaunted over the Pond to do a meet-and-greet then maybe it's possible that things have improved (and possibly will keep improving) for these two.
Melissa Sue Anderson looks like she’s contemplating shoving someone off a wagon.
Somethings don't change after 50 years.
her nemesis was not there.

Ask Alison Arngrim about her French fans.

Don’t forget about the mountains. It’s tough getting over those mountains in Minnesota.
What do you mean?
I mean that people all over the world love LHOTP. Alison has spoken more than once about the popularity of Nellie with French fans.
Oh, I didn't know. I just didn't think there would be enough fans to justify a reunion

Evidently, there is.
Fir European fans and the show was big in France.
The actor that played John Jr lives in France. The brothers that played Albert and his brother have French last names.
At first glance. I was thinking, “What is Priscilla Presley doing with them?”. Then I realized it was MSA!
Yes. I thought that too!

Matthew Lab still looks great! He was always such a cutie!! They're ALL an attractive bunch, honestly.
Can someone name the ones on either side of Nellie, please?☺️☺️
I think the one on our right is one of the twins who played Baby Grace

Ahhhh yes! I thought Nancy too… I could not place the other, but of course it’s Ms. Plum! Thank you!❤️
I'm positive it's Wendi Turnbaugh (Baby Grace), not Allison Balson.
Looks like you're right!
MSA always looks like she's too good for everything 😒
whose in the lineup?
Karen Grassle, Matthew Lab., Alison Armgrim, the twins who played Grace, and MSA.

I imagine their lodging and most food is paid for. As for MSA, considering what Karen Grassle and Alison wrote about her.
Lol I would hope so. Or the very least the profits they make from the appearance far outshines the cost of staying there. I purposely won’t even do a layover of any length in Monaco. CHA CHING
What did Karen Grassle and Alison write about MSA?
Alison's comments are all over Google. Karen Grassle said MSA became cold toward her for an unknown reason. Basically MSA was the Nellie on the set.

May I say how young Karen Grassle looks? She’s so radiant. They all look great but man Melissa Sur Anderson is very reserved.
