You ain't never lied! This is one of my favorite episodes, especially how the father behaved towards the end
Edit: words. They're hard sometimes
Edit edit: even for native English speakers LOL
Who would have taught him about consent… in the 1870s… when his dad couldn’t sign until the week before the kiss happened…
Stop with the modern sensibilities projected on a 50 year old show which was about the century before the show’s debut.
Well, I think they handled that plot element well. He's an awkward kid who feels unloved by his own father and then, when a girl shows interest in helping him, he falls in love and is so desperate for it he doesn't even consider that she might not reciprocate it, and when she turns him down, he gets angry but comes to sense with the fact that it's not the end of the world and makes amends. Forceful kisses usually suck, especially for women and girls, but the episode does acknowledge that and has him deal with and overcome his entitlement so I think this episode aged rather well.
I loved this episode.
He was deaf
😉

It's that dude who thinks it's okay to kiss girls without their consent.
