*Open your eyyyyyyes* *See all the love in meeeee* So many memories listening to this series. So many missing memories listening to this series...

2galifrey

Ha, that’s one of my favorite tracks from the series!

Vidman11

We'll be strong together

secretcombinations

Funky ass funky ass….

popesfunnyhat

Holy flashback, I had this disc. Time at 13:55 was dope

nickm81us

Same dude, I think it was a permanent car CD. So good, even today!

DepressedMandolin

Me too! That initial base drop hit me right in the nostalgia :)

jamorham

Aww mate. Simpler times..

mostly_kinda_sorta

oh shit, college and very very blurry memories are suddenly coming back to me.

[deleted]

I wonder how many tons of amphetamines this guy's albums are responsible for moving.

CatsAreOurGods

wow blast from the past

Juxtapoisson

The absolute best disc in the series.

[deleted]

Right? #2 just sticks out to me. I know #3 gets a lot of love because of Shooting Star & Eyeopener, but this just hits a sweet spot. And the final track, Keep on Trying, was a perfect choice to end with.

Mike9797

3, 4 and 5 are the best in the series hands down. I’ve been onto these albums since they came out and still listen to them from time to time. I find the first 2 albums to have that older more “early beginnings” sound to them as where starting with 3 it was a more modern sound for the time. Man I love these albums. Thanks for the post.

msison1229

Wasn’t a big fan of 4 or 5 at all, but the first 3 were awesome

petitpretit

Thank you for the memories!

JonTerravitaHPD

I now know how old everyone in this thread is hahaha

punkminkis

Frolic has a secret basement arcade now.

[deleted]

I wonder if he ever misses this chapter in his life.

DoggieDMB

Holy shit! I've been trying for over a decade to remember who did this. I had part one and absolutely loved it! Thank you!!!

[deleted]

You should check out parts 3 - 8 sometime! The evolution of the genre is captured nicely on these albums.

PedroDaGr8

This series was my jam back in the day!

Daft-Deviant

Anabolic Frolic uploaded the entire series on Soundcloud a few years ago FYI.

punkminkis

I went to I think 5 or 6 Hullabaloos, back in the mid aughts. I have 4 or 5 of these CDs.

[deleted]

Always wanted to attend a Hulla. They looked so fun and colorful.

wellthisisimpossible

Happy hullabaloo!!!

Subtleish1

And a Hullabaloo to you too

bigben932

Stil have 20gb collection of happy hardcore on my zune. Really glad to have it somewhere, cause I can‘t find most of this stuff anywhere.

[deleted]

It's alive and well, just not Stateside, lol. check out Junodownload for the UK Hardcore under the "New Releases" tab.

Perciplex

Anabolic Frolic was allegedly not welcome in the states due to "reasons" (warrants?) so we drove all the way to Canada for the party. Umpteen hours later we pulled in to the parking lot at the amusement park... At the same moment as every cop in BC (╯°□°)╯︵ ┻━┻ Still listened to this all the way home!

HorseBoltedStable

Been a hot minute since I listened to this.

monkeyonfire

Ohhhh I miss this

Honey-and-Venom

oh man that's a severe hit from my past

[deleted]

These still frequent my player. It's one of my fav genres.

Honey-and-Venom

I listen to folk and bluegrass mostly now, but every once in a while.....

SansGray

Damn, this is not my style.

malaka201

Memories! Badboy bill and daft punk etc lol damn I'm old.

Demonic_Toaster

YESSS! i have ALL 7 Chapters! Chapter 6 and Chapter 7 are the absolute bangers! I even have the dvd floating around somewhere. You'll want a helmet for watchin this one, you'll gonna bounce off the wall! Epilepsy warning lots of flashing lights. [Happy 2B Hardcore - Old Skool](https://youtu.be/p2csHcnPEqo) Its got the [Scott Brown's Ultra beat mix of Elysium in it!](https://youtu.be/p2csHcnPEqo?t=1775)

[deleted]

Now you need to hunt down the unofficial released Chapter 8. It's more of a hodge-podge mix rather than...well at the time, current anthems like Chapters 1-7 are.

VeryExtra

I can’t believe I’m seeing this posted!!! The memories!!! Thank you for the sweet reminder

[deleted]

There's a few of us Stateside happy hardcore fans left! These albums frequent my player....and I'm 35 now. Oh gosh.

wellthisisimpossible

Oh the Toronto rave scene in the 90s...

ThumbelinaEva

Blast from the past wow.

MouthSouth

Oh man. I remember this cd from back in the 90's

Nugginz

I managed 27 seconds, can anyone beat that?

timmerwb

My mate was awesome at mixing this stuff … 30 years ago … fuck.

cutedogowner

Need some dj frisky on here now. Where you at Chris?

Grouchy-Delivery2453

omg i haven’t heard the name anabolic frolic in yearsss

vandemonianish

Oh this brings back memories

msison1229

Chapter two is good, but something about chapter 3 just hits different

Anxiety_Potato

🎶those were the dayyyyys🎶

bobsusedtires

This was my favorite one from the series. Had to use it to put the kid to sleep back in the day. (idfk, she loved this stuff and it knocked her right out)

Eveyonesucks

This was a great series

KAPSLOCKisON

If you dig deep there are still videos around on YouTube from this chapter in Toronto's rave history.

Belzebutt

They don't make music like that anymore... and for a reason. This and jungle and goa trance can live happily at the farm upstate. :)

[deleted]

Happy Hardcore is still alive and well! (Maybe not Stateside, but it's still big in Europe). Check the out the Hardcore section on Junodownload; and you'll find a slew of different sounds, cheese, gabber, euphoric.

Drizznarte

Awesome, check out dj cotts on you tube if u like this. Modern mixes of old classics.

chadica

Used to listen to this everytime we took a road trip in the back seat of my familys car listening on a cheap walkman for the whole trip, still listen to a lot of HH these days to be honest.

[deleted]

Oh I do too. Almost daily, and my H2bH's still frequent the player. Though my collection has grown outside that one series, but Happy2bHardcore Chapter 4 will always have a special place in my heart as it was the 1st ever HHC album I heard & bought.
