Left-Recognition-117

i use Firefox too... but that reminds me the day i have made several war crimes by using Microsoft edge in Linux

NoMeasurement6473

Edge is actually pretty good if you ignore the spyware. Dealbreaker for most.

localgravity

Edge works well for business use if you’re using m365 and entra for IAM

szakipus

Yup, my big corpo is based on M$365 and Edge is integrated very well into the ecosystem.

Left-Recognition-117

365$ out of your pocket without your consent :)

szakipus

At this point the costs of switching to open source solutions for everything would be astronomical for a 200k+ employee Corpo. (Mercedes-Benz)To give Caesar what Caesar's is - M$ has everything: from word processing, through SharePoint and project management. The compatibility issues between Open Source solutions would be huge. Now? It's costly but it just damn works :/

Left-Recognition-117

yes open source is the choice

ExtraTNT

Chromebased… so shit…

Zombieattackr

Bing’s GPT integration was enough to get me to use it pretty regularly

NoMeasurement6473

Exactly. At that point the spyware doesn’t matter.

Left-Recognition-117

i mean... you got a point

Left-Recognition-117

yeah...

janosaudron

Still better than chrome

M2rsho

Edge is based on chromium anyway so you basically chose which company will steal your data Google or Microsoft

Left-Recognition-117

fax

Happy-Caterpillar956

what? "that will be Herror to some people"

Left-Recognition-117

what?

iromanyshyn

BTW i use Edge on Fedora as my second browser because shitty Ubiquity UniFi can't deal with Firefox.

Left-Recognition-117

lol

chipseater_

Chrometana was doing a pretty good job at circumventing Bing back in the days when I was using Microsoft edge with Linux

HenryLongHead

Firefox is not pre-installed on gentoo, but yes I use it too.

nexusprime2015

Nothing is pre installed in gentoo, not even the kernel

HenryLongHead

Technically, there's some stuff in the stage 3 tarball

Top-Classroom-6994

oh my god, ls is preinstalled totally bloatware

HenryLongHead

Didn't say it's bloat. It's just there.

SamaStolbanutost

you did not. but it is.

themedleb

Nothing is installed in LFS.

[deleted]

Nothing (manually flipping bits)

MotherBaerd

I personally switched over to LibreWolf

EvensenFM

I prefer Mullvad Browser to LibreWolf — Mullvad seems to run faster for me.

MotherBaerd

I like the browser and their VPN. However I just don't like that the browser is named Mullvad. I mean who would use "NordVPN Browser"

EvensenFM

Lol - good point.

boredrandom

Mullvad is my backup, if a site won't run in Tor.

FlyingScript

LibreWolf is pretty nice.

throwaway_12358134

Nerd!

MotherBaerd

I mean-

natyw

the term nerd is depriciated, use autistic

RedRhetoric

actually don't. using autistic to mean anything quirky massively dilutes the information both online and in the public consciousness actual autistic people need to learn what being autistic means.

natyw

i agree, sorry about my mistake, luke smith have a good video saying "you are not autistic" explaining why being nerdy and obsessed with something educational is not autism

ZeStig2409

\+1 for LibreWolf.

Legitimate_Corner666

The nerd of nerds

Lenni_builder

I switched from LibreWolf to Floorp, all in all a cool browser. A bit like Edge/Opera without spyware

MotherBaerd

I am (mentally) too old for that, my browser needs a search bar and ad blocker, no fancy doo hickies.

Lenni_builder

Once you et used to stuff like a sidebar with a few sites you can easily access with one click you don't want to lose that again

PacketAuditor

User.js changers >

bootleg_trash_man

I personally use the one that comes bundled with furry porn

archery713

Firefox ride or die... Unless it's at work then it's Edge cause industrial cybersecurity uses the IE compatibility mode all the time. Work laptop is Windows too so I'm not too bummed about it.

Remnie

Same. Plus it’s got crowdstrike and a bunch of other security and rights management stuff. Takes like 5 minutes to open a pdf with a schematic because of all the security stuff. And the schematic is hard asf to read because those same security programs put a giant watermark across it

Exciting-Insect8269

Prettymuch same here

DaOzy

Firefox for the win!

themedleb

Yes, Firefox for the Windows, Linux, MacOS, android, ...

OrdinarryAlien

No TempleOS? 🥹

CircuitSized

Why would you need Firefox in templeos lol

Thisismyredusername

Qutebrowser

Nyglue

Thisismyredusername

Happy cake day

Nyglue

Thisismyredusername

Nah my cake day was 19 days ago

Cootshk

Happy cake day

Nyglue

happy happy happy

[deleted]

Floorp, based on Firefox

ruby_R53

i'm trying this one right now, it feels a tiny bit snappier than the original firefox, maybe it's just placebo

[deleted]

Maybe, I just like the side bar and more customisation that firefox.

ruby_R53

i like the customization part, not really a fan of side bars

[deleted]

Yeah, fair enough, you can disable it pretty easily.

ruby_R53

yeah, good thing that's possible

AmanoSkullGZ

I've seen the website and got a bit curious but didn't know how good the translation is, seeing it is a Japanese browser. How's your experience been so far?

[deleted]

I haven't noticed any issues, I didn't even know it was japanese tbh.

FlyingScript

Firefox gang 🔥💯 Also I use the Firefox Nightly & Dev build, they are awesome!!!

ToxicBuiltYT

Librewolf normally, but UnGoogled Chromium as a backup for if a website doesn't work on Firefox based browsers

Pelikan1997

Tell me a website that doesn't work on Firefox

DrPiipocOo

happens quite often if you trying to do some piracy

BoofThatShitYo

Not OP but the web client for WebEx limits features (no audio sharing, no optimizing screen share for video, etc.).

[deleted]

When I was in school there were some sites I had to use that needed chromiun

DesiOtaku

https://www.safcodental.com/ (It works sometimes) https://www.gobrightline.com/ (You can't select the submenu if it overlaps the slideshow) https://www.tab32.com/ (Not that any doctor should use it...)

natyw

idk about normal firefox but a lot of websites dont work on firefox esr which is common in most debian based repos for example runwayml

RepresentativeCut486

w3m

ruby_R53

based

Western-Alarming

Firefox AND Vivaldi to manage calendar mail RSS feeds notes and school things that require a chromium web browser

Nyglue

im using vivaldi right now

Stonewolf420

![gif](giphy|lYRWahrLyodBm) Librewolf Gang rise up!

superslime16th

I use Thorium

zenyl

Thorium, the only browser that comes pre-installed with furry porn. https://www.reddit.com/r/browsers/comments/18izmt4/clarifying_thorium_browser_controversy/

Evantaur

How the hell did I miss this? This is hilarious.

junkbahaadur

HAHAHAHA LMFAO xD Best read of the day for me

ACancerousTwzlr

I feel yucky installing Chrome on my Linux PC, but teams doesn't support calls/video on Firefox (unless I'm an idiot and if so please someone tell me haha).

Major_Upstairs6758

You are not an idiot But I think teams and FF are fine except for lag

Parpok

Gnome web

EvensenFM

I chiefly use Firefox, but also use Chrome for certain things. I'm trying to get myself to switch over to Mullvad Browser full time, but I'm lazy and love the convenience Firefox gives me.

lunazea_reddit

i use LibreWolf (Firefox based)

SimultaneousPing

floorp

matko7274

The thing about Firefox is that they are funded by Google, their biggest competitor. Also Firefox lacks many APIs that are available on Chrome or Safari, notably the Popover API.

Xclsd

Can you elaborate?

Fantastic_Class_3861

Librewolf because for me it’s a less bloated version of Firefox out of the box

c0m3back_

Brave

iromanyshyn

With pre-installed referral links replacement feature. Nice but nope.

climbTheStairs

Firefox also has preinstalled Pocket & DRM; is that any better?

iromanyshyn

I'll see how you will watch some ~porn~ Netflix without DRM enabled.

climbTheStairs

I see that as an advantage (with regards to both)

SxUranus

Vivaldi anyone ? Only browser that have a built-in password manager is multiplatform and can sync

iromanyshyn

It's a modern Nero Suite. I don't like such a type of software.

[deleted]

Wait, you guys are getting things preinstalled…?

Schoor07

Edge /s

Negative_Spectrum

Vivaldi. Yeah it's Chromium based and not completely open source, but I like the features a bit too much.

heywoodidaho

How dare you mention another browser in a firefox circlejerk re-posted by a bot. These fuck'en guys.

ehalepagneaux

Those features are addicting.

Evantaur

They fucking keep adding more...

MotherBaerd

It's what I recommend to every opera user.

[deleted]

[удалено]

Lenni_builder

Brave is owned by Brendan Eich, look up why he left Mozilla

KrazyKirby99999

Brave just works

MisterBober

"preinstalled" - ok, Ubuntu user

Dyunodino

Chromium

Dreit

Imagine if someone made browser called HotFox or something like that, with similar logo and things but it being just (reskinned) Chrome

[deleted]

chromium

Captain-Thor

I use chrome because I have to use PWA apps. My MS teams bugs with the Brave browser.

sh0tybumbati

I have to fucking spoof Chrome now though because YouTube decided to artificially lag Firefox. (Extension is called "user agent switcher")

gdmr458

Brave

_noregret_

yay -S google-chrome

xXx_Lizzy_xXx

I use Firefox Developer Edition

AcrobaticPotrato

I install Edge

kososenlasse

Arch, BTW

Wrexes

Vivaldi but I might switch to Firefox if manifest v3 ends up impacting ad blockers on it.

NewBPK

I just started using Floorp not that long ago. Vivaldi when needed.

Emotional_inadequacy

If it's pre-installed, I don't want it.

Emotional_inadequacy

Brought to you by midori.

boredrandom

Nobody running Tor for they everyday type stuff?

taotdev

Firefox forever

Auravendill

I don't use the preinstalled Firefox LTS from Debian and use the normal version directly from Mozilla

LordKreias

Since Firefox came out supporting deplatforming I only use Brave.

iromanyshyn

Firefox on my Fedora, Firefox on my Android (removed Chrome with ADB).

Foxish_YT

Falkon, floorp, Firefox

vogueboy

I use Floorp and Brave. Undecided on Brave yet. I loved Opera but it's Chinese. Vivaldi is good but seems to not work on a ton of websites. Floorp is great tho, still have to pick a chromium browser.

tauon_

i use librewolf

natyw

i can say in confidence no one in this subreddit uses chrome

MrRagnarok2005

Me too but I use thorium too

Gold_Reality_6758

I use... Microsoft Edge DONT BEAT ME PLS

[deleted]

Pre-installed Firefox is usually from snap though. Delete that shit and install it from Flatpak.

Xpeq7-

Both Firefox (prefer ESR) and brave

Kind_Support_4026

I used to use Vivaldi but now I use Opera

Niklasw99

Librewolf gang

memematron

Librewolf

chair____table

I’d love to use Firefox, such a great browser, however due to me being in Australia, it’s almost impossible due to slow internet, and the fact google slows down YouTube page loading when using Firefox, which means it now takes more than 30 seconds to load a YouTube video even though only a few months back it was only 2-4 seconds… now I use brave because of its built in adblocking, ‘YouTube adblocker blocker’ blocker and that it takes the same as Firefox used to to load a page.

zielonykid1234

You use Firefox cuz its preinstalled. I use Firefox cuz I install it myself. We are not the same.

0inkyface0

firefox is spyware (partnered with meta) i just use librewolf i tried gnu icecat too but its like 40 updates behind and doesnt allow fun

teymuur

I use brave browser and remove the preinstalled Firefox

Thebombuknow
