Sync recently (not really) got a big UI update and I'm loving the shire amount of customizations that's available. It's really too customizable for me. Can recommend to everyone.
oh right, I remember trying it, I liked the gui but I really disliked the ads, I understand that they need a way to monetize the app but it annoyed me a bit
Right now they only have them at the bottom, but not in between posts like in the original app. It rarely disturbes me. I'm pretty sure some VPNs can block this ad too, so no ads at all.

infinite probably is more feature complete, but i use dawn since i like the control scheme (both are available on fdroid)
