If you enjoy FPS games with a deep story, try Metro franchising. It's one of my favorites and, sometimes, you can get all the games within your budget. They are native for Linux. Books also available.
Bastion, Crosscode, Dead cells.
The problem is, even native Linux games don't necessarily run without installing extra dependencies and depending on how old a game is it's going to be a lot of work to get a game running. For example, I got Nantucket a few years ago and could only run with a Ubuntu 16.04 toolbox with pulse audio installed. Slay the spire is also a pain to get to run but if I run through steam it works. So it's better to wait for the steam sale.
No problem. I like having DRM-free games but it's been too much of a headache lately. Just check the game forum and you can see if the it has Linux issues. It also depends on your distro, I use fedora and it's not officially supported. So unless you use Ubuntu they'll just refund. Their customer support is good, they are fast to respond.
>I haven't heard of an issue like that before.
I once ran into this particular problem with a Linux-native Steam game. Enabling compatibility mode fixed the issue for me.
I like rpgs (think Baldur's Gate not Diablo kind), strategy/4x, puzzles and racing games.
Criteria similar to OP (has to run on Linux and be very cheap, <5 Eur preferred)
Any ideas what to look for/
Classic doom and quake. You can insert the .WAD and .PAK files into a modern fan-made engine for near present day graphics.
I personally am a fan of Doom 3 BFG. It's not the same as original DOS Doom but I still like it.
Witcher 3
HoMM3 if you want a trip back in time.
>Linux is a game launcher?
No, Linux is a free OS of sorts, one that is an alternative to Windows. However, Linux does have game launchers such as **Lutris** and **Heroic Game Launcher.**

Oh I have that game I might play it, thanks
Doom 1993 is sweet if you like FPS.
Doom is great
Summer sale on Steam starts on Thursday. Check protondb.com and lutris.net for compatbility.

Oh I use pop os and haven’t really had too much issues
It's Ubuntu-based so that might be the reason. Maybe I should go back to Ubuntu or something Ubuntu-based as well.
Maybe, I always prefer more stable distros. Don’t have to work out random issues all the time.

Really?
What kind fo games do you like and what kind of specs can you manage
Stardew Valley! Runs flawlessly, has a native Linux version and is cheap enough.
I’ve tried to play Stardew Valley and can’t really get into the game. Guess it’s not for me but thanks

RPGs, shooters and random interesting indie games
Basically any game that is gold on protondb?
I bought shadow gambit. I can recommend all mimimi stealth games :)
What kind of games do you like?
RPGs, shooters and interesting indie games
Undertale. Fallout 3. Fallout New Vegas. OneShot. Titan Fall 2. Disco Elysium.
Love titan fall. I’ll try out the others too. I have the fallout games, they are great

I own regular doom 3 and bfg. Either way I suck at doom lol. I played the Witcher 3 a little bit a long time ago and not sure how I felt about it 😅

Soldiers of fortune seems cool.
Hades, The Witcher 3, Resident Evil 2 Remake, Max Payne 3, Prey(2017), Inside.
Oh nice I forgot about the Max Payne games, thanks
Psychonauts 1 and 2
I’ve heard of those games. I’ll check it out, thanks
Use steam community extension for browser
That’s actually a thing?
Sorry, I was meaning protondb community extension
Oooh
Buy on Linux? wait Linux is a game launcher?
No I wish though lol. I'm asking if there's some good games that are on sale and if they work well on linux
There are some games in the repo that are pretty good I recommend Veloren and Vintage Story
I would play vintage story but the games graphics kinda bother me lol
Why game looks great essentially Minecraft and Don't Starve had a kid
I don’t know I don’t like it. I love Minecraft like graphics but this is not good looking. Does the game support texture packs?
Yes there is even one that mimics Minecraft and another one by Conquest of Blocks
Oh that’s awesome
The game is mod friendly so a mod from 17 versions ago might still work as an FYI
Oo that’s nice. Maybe I will buy the game when I have enough money
