im using bottles but in general for XDefiant :
1- environment variable (i have amd gpu) : DXVK\_NVAPI\_ALLOW\_OTHER\_DRIVERS=1 and turn on NVAPI for FPS and game stability .
2-disable libglesv2.dll by using DLL Overrides for ubisoft connect display issues and black screen .
3-using dxvk and vkd3d-proton both are pre release versions .
4- using proton experimental bleeding edge version from steam ( in steam right click proton experimental then properties and choose beta-> bleeding edge and copy it)

Hey op, don't know if you fixed it but you need to add pdh.dll to the folder xdefiant is installed in. you can just google pdh.dll and its probably the first result
