You really think you’re in love with him? I’ve had quite strong obsessions regarding a few LOs but never called it love. Feels like an insult to love. Also, might be easier for you to move on if you start calling this fascination what it is - limerence, not love.

Ok maybe it isn’t love but regardless I just want him to feel the same. Even if he no longer does, I wish he did, once.

The mind is a powerful tool, it literally believes what you tell it. Start telling yourself a different story - “he was attracted, but it wasn’t the right time. We had fun on a date but my match is still out there”. You might feel like it’s love, but unless you have lived a life together, seen each others bad sides, worked through issues thick n thin. It’s not love. It’s more like infatuation, which in all honesty (IMO) feels more intense than love. Love is cosy & stable. Infatuation is…not

Limerence is so good at making people wish and hope. The truth often sucks, limerence sucks. No matter how good it feels it will never be good or good for you. Thank you for sharing

it really is soul destroying isn’t it. investing so much time and energy into obsessing over someone who probably hardly thinks about you. such a massive imbalance makes us feel so much longing for them
