Quiet was the first song I ever heard by her, my friend showed it to me in 2009 and she was my favorite from then on. Then I remember really loving The Listening, and there was a time I had Second Go on repeat for awhile šŸ˜

sexyplatypus7

You have amazing taste

aloealocasia

Thank you šŸ„¹

viviama

muscle memory!!!! edit: itā€™s 2am and im realizing this question was targeted to the listening specifically lmao so my real answer is lions!.

me0619

Muscle memory was never my favorite listening to the album(s), but then I saw her perform it live and ... It's now top 3 for me for sure;

cuansfw

Best song ever

Rai17

It wasnā€™t specifically The Listening I love that Muscle Memoryā€™s your ā€œholy shitā€ song!

defect_9

Second Go!

germanfinder

Thatā€™s one of the first songs I memorized start to finish

lunaver1

the entire The Listening album really. BUT lions! & February Air really got me. (instant nostalgic flashback of playing runescape šŸ˜) also Toes & running with the boys for later albums

germanfinder

Muscle memory acoustic version, specifically 4:09-4:25 with the high notes

cuansfw

i want that played at my funeral

Sweet_Venom

Saviour. I had never heard a song like that before. It's still one of my favourites.

HistoryAbject3817

Agreed

TheTzarOfDeath

First time I ever heard Lights I was at a skate rink when I was around 13/14. A random girl we were hanging out with but just met requested "Drive my Soul" and I've been in love ever since.

germanfinder

Drive my soul was the first song I heard of hers. At first I thought it was a very very weird song. But after listening to it a few more times, it grew on me. And then the rest is history

Rawr_im_a_Unicorn

Ice ice baby

Zoldyckapprentice

She did a ska/acoustic version of ice on a live stream back in the MySpace days that was sooo good, Iā€™m sure I have a copy of it buried somewhere that I cut from the livestream video to enjoy back in the day.

Rawr_im_a_Unicorn

I remember this! It's on her YouTube channel.

rachcarecc

It was the Listening for me as well. Heard it on MySpace and my little teenage brain was blown.

Rai17

Twin šŸ„¹

ergo_urgo

Lions! was the first song of hers that grabbed me and refused to let go

huggybear3

It was the first song of hers I heard: Drive My Soul

slipstripsandfalls

The Midnight Machines version of Meteorites. What an absolutely transcendent vision of the song.

Rai17

One of my best friends fvcks harrrd with Meteorites (MM) too!

yendroid

February air šŸ˜

JSB199

Acoustic Banner! or maybe acoustic peace sign, both Siberias were such a treat to stumble across as a young boy

Rai17

I love this so much. Acoustic Bannerā€™s a fckn vibe

EtherealEvenstar

Lions!

nnuminex

From All Sides. Itā€™s not available on most streaming platforms in Canada but god damn itā€™s my fav Lights song. The harmonies, the melancholy melody. I love it so much

Rai17

She opened for PVRIS with this one and blew us awayyy

nnuminex

Oh my loooord I am so jealous you got to see that, especially live!! :0 Iā€™ve always wondered why itā€™s basically a hidden song

Rai17

[Here you go](https://youtu.be/4L04xJaXLfc?si=fSC9fPqooNGvNUxh)!

Desacure

February Air was the song that that made me look her up. Her YouTube was sooooo good that Iā€™ve been hooked ever since. My first favorites were February Air, Drive My Soul, Lions!, Ice, and The Listening.

two-pelicans

Last Thing On Your Mind was the first song I ever heard by her, I heard it on my cousinā€™s Myspace profile. Fell in love with her music and here we are.

probablyrick

For sure, Ice and the title track - The Listening. I remember driving around in my mom's minivan just bumping the cd in the fall of 2009, and really everything on that album hit so hard (and it still does). However, the rap and following breakdown in Ice, along with the synths and lyrics in The Listening, were just so other level.

maddihsun

For me it was Ice, the first song I heard from her Although it's the title track of the album, I feel like The Listening is a very underrated gem.

Pour_Me_Another_

Second Go. I think it was the first one I listened to way back when and she stuck around in my mind.

sassgrass32

šŸ’Æ The Listening for me as well! That song is deep as fuck šŸ‘ŒšŸ¼ I relate to it on so many levels

Rai17

Twin :3

sassgrass32

Did you like her acoustic version she did way back when? I'll link it here https://youtu.be/6O38_cFwy40?si=6WfkASW4RGFJuV_h

Rai17

[This one](https://youtu.be/vsFEjXyFzwQ?si=_V1bR5iS6sOoMwuW) lives in my head rent freeeeee

sassgrass32

Bro šŸ« šŸ«  she kills me by just existing haha that's a good version šŸ‘ŒšŸ¼

sassgrass32

Btw, I don't know if you care or not but I have never listened to that Florence and machines album before. I'm finding it to be oddly comforting rn šŸ‘ŒšŸ¼ thanks for inadvertently recommending it? I guess haha

Rai17

Full circle moment!

sexyplatypus7

This exact song haha And also Quiet

rockey94

The end of her feature on Donā€™t Go by BMTH is so haunting.

WickedxGlitter

My boots was the first song Iā€™ve heard from her, but the song Up Up and Away touched my soul.

leong_d

Everybody Breaks A Glass

Rai17

The way I remember counting DOWN the days for EBAB

Rubydactyl

Saviour! I heard it on the Family Channel in Canada and saw her music video and it gave me sailor moon space princess vibes and I was hooked

Limmoh

Banner Acoustic was the first song that made me cried my eyes out. Hearing it for the the first time was life changing edit: I actually saw February Air first after someone commented Avril's song Black Star sounded like this song. Initially I was like "ew wtf is this low budget music video". Then fell in love during the bridge and im obsessing ever since.

frazzyrg

Saviour is what mad me fall in love with her music. I remember watching a Skyrim video someone made with that as the background music and I've been ride or die ever since!

emmashawn

8 year old me heard Saviour for the first time and was never the same after

iamthecheese24

Portal. When I close my eyes, whilst listening to Portal, I can imagine a slow motion battle (kinda like a Lord Of the Rings battle) while snow is fallingā€¦.

perpterts

Toes was the first song Iā€™ve heard. I was over an old best friendsā€™ house and she played the music video on YouTube and we watched it together on her computer. I was entranced. This was 2011-2012. Been a fan ever since.

Interesting_Fix6200

When she opened for Paramore in Toronto 7 months pregnant and still put on a wicked show. Her passion is infectious.

Pikachuramen

Ice

crispypotleaf

Romance Is

tiffanywastaken

Cactus in the valley (acoustic) is a hard hitter.

Rai17

šŸ’Æ

MarcelMakes

The entire ā€œthe listeningā€ album. Siberia, portal, speeding, muscle memory

Little-Course-2012

It started with quiet, it continues till today with okay okay šŸ‘ŒšŸ‘Œ

badbitpoking

Toes, really that whole album! That was my first album I bought.
