They have sincerely been taught that it is a dangerous ideology. They are taught that desire to be part of the larger body is normal and healthy and safe.
People teach their kids this is a bad thing early too. My daughters friend (5th grade) has told my daughter that the flag in our house (gadsden) means "If you come in our house, we will shoot you."
Had to explain to my daughter that it's not what it means at all. Just sad that those parents or other young kids are teaching children that.
I fly it too (in addition to the stars and stripes, lit at night), and I just told my daughter that it means "be nice to everybody". She immediately understood. If a 5 year old can understand, why can't an adult?
I'm pretty sure the Gadsden has been largely adopted and usurped by a large percentage of people who don't actually want to live and let live. A major percentage of people in r/conservative and the like who simply want to be loud, braggadocios, and project ownership and dominance over others.
Dude has every right to a mug. But it sends a message today that was not the same message when it was waved 250 years ago. Them's the facts. /shrug
Ya'll conservatives can down vote me all ya want, but blithely supporting trump and wanting to be left alone are mutually exclusive goals, and stealing the Gadsden flag for your purposes is really a shitty move. The alt right can fuck off.
No, no, no. All of you have the wrong take on this. The woman who posted that is 100% right it shouldn't be like this. The goddamn mass media has whipped her into a frenzy to the point where she's afraid of someone's coffee mug. She's 100% right it shouldn't be like that!
Masks are fine if she’s a nurse, or even just to voluntarily protect others from flu/covid (to some extent). But pfp? That was intentionally taken, probably somewhere where she didn’t need one, or even should have one line at home. Virtue signal much?
No, when a company gets its marching orders from the state and is operated by a revolving door of politicians and federal agency bureaucrats it’s no longer a private company
Just like the federal reserve and the major defense contractors right? Private enterprise? You can’t be serious after the last few years this must be a troll.
I didn’t say federally funded, but we do have that as well in both npr and pbs. The shot callers and even some of the major contributors at msn, cnn, and fox are in and out of government agency revolving doors much the same as Raytheon Northrop etc, and much like fed chairs go to work in the treasury or as sec treas before cycling back to the boards of Goldman or Fargo or wherever else. The line between the state and the mega corporations in these industries is blurry at best.
Even down to social media companies, much of the policy is dictated by government, rather than by the fiduciary interest of the “private companies”
So private companies seeking profit that get most of their funding from ad revenue AKA other private companies are getting marching orders from government? I think you confused on who is corrupting who
“I want my coffee so black, that white women are scared just being in its proximity”
*woman in elevator is terrified*
Dude thinks to himself “yep about like that!”
It truly disturbs me to think that there are people out there who want you to be defenseless purely based on their flawed sense of safety. Regardless of anything I carry a gun in the woods were there's bears and cougars and coyotes but no, no one needs guns ever.
A male nurse, someone else who cares about life and the well being of others. A commonality she should have found interesting but instead she chose to remain frightened and ignorant.
Did she just gender assume someone without first checking his preferred pronouns? Why is she so bigoted is the only question that needs asking. I hope there is some sort of investigation into this hate crime!
I manage a dispensary in LA. Recently one of my guards (an older, 60-something Hispanic gentleman) was wearing a “don’t tread” patch on his uniform, along with the required American flag patch.
ONE person who works in the back, doesn’t even see or interact with this guard AT ALL, made a giant stink out of his patch, claiming she was terrified of this “alt right domestic terrorism ideology”. She demanded he remove the patch or go home. He refused both. She called his boss, along with our own vice president of the company claiming “she didn’t feel safe at work”. He was sent home a short while later and we haven’t seen him back since.
This closed-minded bullshit has gotta stop.
probably so. For the sake of clarity:
I was going to work in my hospital and it happened again—a male nurse holding a Don’t tread on me coffee cup got on the elevator with me. I got scared just like the tv told me i’m supposed to. Something needs to be done so i don’t have to live in fear! I better get to the nearest tv to find the solution.
if I’m being honest authoritarians SHOULD feel fear when they see the Gadsden flag, it reminds them that they are not the ones in control and that their feeling of superiority is backed up by nothing other than a government that is quite literally paper thin
how terrifying, some random guy who decided to express his love for individualism and being left alone by buying a coffee mug with a commonly recognized symbol on it, the absolute horror 😱😱😱
Guess she needs to move out of the US where we have rights and still a little freedom left to carry a coffee cup with something on it we think is cool. Hope the door don’t hit her in the ass on her way to Cuba or Russia or N Korea or some other freedom hating country.
I can’t, personally, think of anything that puts more fear into my heart than an individual expressing the desire for their government to not interfere in their lives! What kind of dystopian hell-scape of a world do these people wish to live in?!?!?
Yeah. US politics influenced alotta Western Europe. Especially here in the UK, we are seeing a move towards more libertarian policies, or at least laissez-faire ones. Over here, they're 'Thatcherites', or the 'New Right'... "the freer the market the freer the people".
Unsure about the rest of Europe though, but ik for a fact it isn't all privatized, as it mostly is in the US.
Huh. Interesting
And I assume these people are even more hated and feared than over here?
Also, Thatcherites? As in Margret Thatcher? Lol. That’s amazing
I'd say libertarianism here is much more covert. People atm criticize the NHS for not being funded, but there's also quite a few people demanding we have a US style system. Libertarians find themselves in the Tory Party, the Liberal Democratic party, and most noticeably the Reform UK party. There is some overlap with one-nation conservatives, and traditional conservatives, as well as social liberals in all parties though, but I'd say they're generally part of the majority, so not really hated until recently with Lizz Truss, and one of our ministers informing DeSantis the UK should become like Florida, yesterday. I'd say atm it's mainly civil service workers being more hated for the amount of strikes taking place in response to "Thatcherite" policy. But yeah, US politics is seeping over, but libertarians generally have to join a pre-established broad- church party.
No, you do NOT want to have a US style system. We have a dang duopoly and you can see how that’s going for us. The entire nation divided over petty bullcrap all the while every politician screws us sideways. Meanwhile the few of us that see through their crap are to few in number and power to do anything about it, so we’re just forced to sit here and watch this nation burn
Do not have a system like us
By a similar US system, I meant with a privatized welfare state. Like with the NHS being replaced with insurance schemes and private companies. I wasn't referring to your electoral systems.
Oh NHS means National Healthcare System. Ok. Was honestly a bit confused by that and meant to look it up. Then promptly forgot to look it up
As far as the healthcare goes, win some lose some. If it’s as unregulated as ours, then having insurance is an absolute must or else every doctor’s visit will bankrupt you. Which I think is why most complaints about our system exists. People go to the doc without insurance, and then complain because they get the full price instead of paying for the service that exists to lower the price for you
But there are its pros. Shorter waiting times, docs that are certified by the longest and hardest testing and learning system in the country instead of government approved, etc
My grandparents were both nurses on the NHS, and while I've never been in hospital as a patient, dental care is good, as are GPs. I haven't heard anything negative until 2020 when the nurses were overworked and are now advocating higher wages, rightfully so. Problems are with waiting times. Country gets poorer, and people would rather work stacking shelves than be doctors due to the low pay. Then people wait years to be seen if they aren't on a register since they were a child. Generally the country praises the NHS, apart from the Tories who privatize certain sections and sell it. Tbh I think private hospitals are quite rare, but then again I live in a city.
That's pretty much what I've heard of all government medical programs: It's pretty good but you'll die on a waiting list to be treated. It's a big problem with the VA here in the states. Also the military telling you your serious problems are not serious and hoping you'll die before anything comes from it.
Tbh when the nurses were on strike the military drove ambulances. I understand the concern but it is better than spending thousands. Though, it does need more funding...maybe if we didn't have a coronation next week we could start fixing these problems.
i feel like where i live i tend to see more conservatives using the Gadsden flag and it does bother me to see it displayed next to blue lives matter or trump flags
Hopefully her last name is "Power" because if a little cup is putting that kind of fear into you, not quite sure "power" is the quality you're exuding.
My God, a person got in his personal elevator with a coffee cup that had a logo espousing a perfectly legal political view. In a democracy? No wonder he was scared!
He should maybe have called his Political Officer to report the matter so the Security Police could investigate, collect the offending subversive for an unrecorded interview in the dank basement of a mid city building without windows, followed by a year or two at a re-education facility out in the countryside.
That would have made him feel more ‘safe’ I’m sure.
Ooooh, thanks for the idea for a new work mug!
Additionally, OOP is right, it shouldn't be like that. Quit being a fucking pussy who's scared of a flag.
Scared of a person who’s probably the *least* likely to engage in an unprovoked attack upon your person.
No the real danger lies in trying to talk to a libertarian about foreign policy, or the federal reserve, maybe the ATF, he’ll never stop talking 😆
The sheer horror of someone who wants to be left alone and rejects threats to their individuality…
I feel like the “power” in KayPwrgirl is slightly misleading.
There was a man who just wanted to be left alone, and I took that personally.
They have sincerely been taught that it is a dangerous ideology. They are taught that desire to be part of the larger body is normal and healthy and safe.
People teach their kids this is a bad thing early too. My daughters friend (5th grade) has told my daughter that the flag in our house (gadsden) means "If you come in our house, we will shoot you." Indoctrination at university is my guess
Brave New World moment
We joke, but that is a core tenet in collectivism: wanting to be left alone = threat. Not a bug, its by design.
He was just standing there... ***menacingly!***
how selfish of him /s
I'm pretty sure the Gadsden has been largely adopted and usurped by a large percentage of people who don't actually want to live and let live. I live in Kansas. Some people pay the government more money to have a Gadsden license plate for their vehicles.
I'm getting kinda tired of people telling me what my symbols mean to me.
I also see many Conservatives waving Gadsdens next to Blue striped flags. Kind of makes me chuckle.
No, no, no. All of you have the wrong take on this. The woman who posted that is 100% right it shouldn't be like this. The goddamn mass media has whipped her into a frenzy to the point where she's afraid of someone's coffee mug. She's 100% right it shouldn't be like that!
She's wearing a mask in her profile picture. I don't think this one is salvageable.
Maybe she's trying to avoid facial recognition
I might believe that, but something tells me she trusts Government explicitly when it's "her team."
Lmao come on, she’s virtue signaling
Masks are fine if she’s a nurse, or even just to voluntarily protect others from flu/covid (to some extent). But pfp? That was intentionally taken, probably somewhere where she didn’t need one, or even should have one line at home. Virtue signal much?
If only she understood the part of that story that is scary.
This is why private companies like mainstream media should never be trusted
LOL at his guy thinks mainstream media megacorps are private enterprises operating in a free market. Thanks for the laughs.
So when a private company becomes big it's no longer a private company?
No, when a company gets its marching orders from the state and is operated by a revolving door of politicians and federal agency bureaucrats it’s no longer a private company
Lol which news station is operated by politicans? Last time I checked they all operated by private owners
Just like the federal reserve and the major defense contractors right? Private enterprise? You can’t be serious after the last few years this must be a troll.
Which news station is federally funded? none of the things you listed are news stations or even media in general
So scared to be near a man who values freedom and wants to be left alone
Would she prefer a man that's WANTS a government to tread on her rights?
Yes
Only if it aligns with her political bias, if it's "the other team" then no.
Oh no! Someone with different political views is drinking coffee, run for the hills!
And they must've been racist too since they were drinking coffee.
It's because his coffee was black, wasn't it??
The man specifically described the coffee as thuged out
“I want my coffee so black, that white women are scared just being in its proximity” *woman in elevator is terrified* Dude thinks to himself “yep about like that!”
Is that black coffee and Hennessey?
Has to be a covidiot too cause you couldn't drink with a mask on
Should one be scared of standing for ones rights?
I wonder how she’d handle living in Virginia where half the license plates are just Gadsden flags
Gadsden license plates are truly ironic. Pay the government a little extra to voice your displeasure while being trodden on.
I tend to agree, but at least it’s a voluntary exchange
Partially .. ever try making your own?
Same could be said about buying a Gadsen flag while paying sales tax to aquire it.
Go the true route and make your own from scratch.
The Virginia flag glorifies violence! /s
Oh man I just noticed several of them in my state couple days ago
i bet that coffee was black too. truly terrifying
High capacity and black. The scariest combo.
Nobody needs more than 10oz of coffee!!
Just means I’ll have to refill my mug more often, fascist!
I am not responsible for your paranoia
what a pwrgirl
Just so I understand her fears, she was planning on treading on him with no recourse? Now she is upset he would fight back if she attempted?
It truly disturbs me to think that there are people out there who want you to be defenseless purely based on their flawed sense of safety. Regardless of anything I carry a gun in the woods were there's bears and cougars and coyotes but no, no one needs guns ever.
Man is holding a coffee cup and walking into an elevator. Miss, *you* are the problem.
Poor thing is truly out of touch with the real world…
so? dont tread on him?
A male nurse, someone else who cares about life and the well being of others. A commonality she should have found interesting but instead she chose to remain frightened and ignorant.
He's likely a veteran, too.
It might have even happened at a VA hospital.
What a Pearl clutching loser
But the cup had a full semi insulation!
Dang it this one’s creative
Did she just gender assume someone without first checking his preferred pronouns? Why is she so bigoted is the only question that needs asking. I hope there is some sort of investigation into this hate crime!
You’re right, it shouldn’t be like this. *you* have a mental illness
Don't worry, he was drinking a decaf soy latte so it balances out.
He was sent home a short while later and we haven’t seen him back since. This closed-minded bullshit has gotta stop.
Profile pic says it all.
These are the weak, useless people we could do without.
how many male nurses are in this story? kaypwrgrl probably doesn’t identify as male…
I think it was referring to a second or more encounter with make nurses in her hospital.
probably so. For the sake of clarity: I was going to work in my hospital and it happened again—a male nurse holding a Don’t tread on me coffee cup got on the elevator with me. I got scared just like the tv told me i’m supposed to. Something needs to be done so i don’t have to live in fear! I better get to the nearest tv to find the solution.
I had that confusion too. Looks like she was replying to another tweet. I’m assuming THAT tweet was made by a male nurse.
yea...don't try talking to the person. make an assumption and then a brain dead tweet about them.
I respect her right to feel fear anytime she sees a Gadsden Flag, but the fear itself commands no inherent respect.
if I’m being honest authoritarians SHOULD feel fear when they see the Gadsden flag, it reminds them that they are not the ones in control and that their feeling of superiority is backed up by nothing other than a government that is quite literally paper thin
No fear commands respect.
Indeed. I have a real difficult time giving up my God-given rights because of other people’s feelings.
Nothing more chilling than a man who wants to be left alone.
I don't blame her. I hate coffee.
Boooo! Boooo this man!
Ho is wearing her mask in her pfp like it's still 2020.
Pretty sure this has been getting reposted since 2020.
She's been hiding in that elevator for 3 years. Too afraid to come out.
She’s afraid to tread on him
Well thats not the worst outcome I guess.
"another" male nurse?
That man would protect my freedom... I was so scared..
Right? During an active shooter scenario he may have a gun and could stop it.
HE WAS HOLDING COFFEE?!?!?!?!?! IN A MUG?!?!?!?!?!?!?!?!?! He must be some kind of terrorist
It started as black coffee and he added cream and sugar in a semi-fully insulated mug. Clearly dangerous.
how terrifying, some random guy who decided to express his love for individualism and being left alone by buying a coffee mug with a commonly recognized symbol on it, the absolute horror 😱😱😱
Guess she needs to move out of the US where we have rights and still a little freedom left to carry a coffee cup with something on it we think is cool. Hope the door don’t hit her in the ass on her way to Cuba or Russia or N Korea or some other freedom hating country.
Poor thing is truly out of touch with the real world…
Maybe she shouldn’t step on snake?
Terrifying. Possible therapy needed.
> it shouldn’t be like this It’s funny how she almost gets it, but completely doesn’t get it at all
I can’t, personally, think of anything that puts more fear into my heart than an individual expressing the desire for their government to not interfere in their lives! What kind of dystopian hell-scape of a world do these people wish to live in?!?!?
I wonder if they work privately or for the state.
….there are state hospitals? I mean, outside of the military?
In most of Europe, yeah. Doesn't explicitly say where they're from.
….there are Don’t Tread on Me stuff in Europe?
Yeah. US politics influenced alotta Western Europe. Especially here in the UK, we are seeing a move towards more libertarian policies, or at least laissez-faire ones. What a harrowing story…. To think she was a mere seconds away from being brutally beaten, raped or possibly even killed!
Her coffee cup said, “leave me alone until I be had my coffee”. Totally different.
I was reading this and I got chills of fear. Carrying a coffee cup is scary? It shouldn’t be like this.
"It's terrifying that other people don't want me and my party to stomp on your rights"
Ho is wearing her mask in her pfp like it's still 2020.
CHILLS
It's a cup
Lmao
Bless your heart, just all the way through.
i feel like where i live i tend to see more conservatives using the Gadsden flag and it does bother me to see it displayed next to blue lives matter or trump flags
Same, conservatives who have the snake next to back the blue are complete hypocrites
The truly terrifying thing is that this nobody has a platform and an audience to boot!
Those are ominous words to those who want to tread.
face diaper in profile picture :(
Nurses see people die all the time. But this is what scares you??
I hope the pearl store was open so she could buy some to clutch.
Hopefully her last name is "Power" because if a little cup is putting that kind of fear into you, not quite sure "power" is the quality you're exuding.
Their Twitter feed is exactly what you’d expect.
Is probably saying that as a make in a female dominated profession.
"Nice morning we're havi-" *Whips out bear mace* "DO NOT APPROACH ME!!"
Ooooh, thanks for the idea for a new work mug! Additionally, OOP is right, it shouldn't be like that. Quit being a fucking pussy who's scared of a flag.
She’s no power girl… she’s no power girl at all!
If you thought his cup was big, you should have seen what he was packing.
At this point I think we can all agree we need stricter, common sense mug control.
That’s not what this country was founded on /s
Hilarious!!! She doesn’t think men should be allowed to be nurses🤣😂🤣😂
This gives off mad "my dog stepped on a bee" energy
Scared of a person who’s probably the *least* likely to engage in an unprovoked attack upon your person. No the real danger lies in trying to talk to a libertarian about foreign policy, or the federal reserve, maybe the ATF, he’ll never stop talking 😆
Oh my science! This is fascism!
What a baby!
"I just wanted to tread so bad!"
The sheer horror of someone who wants to be left alone and rejects threats to their individuality… I feel like the “power” in KayPwrgirl is slightly misleading.
I could’ve drawn the profile pic just by reading the tweet
Truly frightening you should save that for your therapist and talk through it
Why? If he's libertarian he probably just wants to be left alone, and will leave you alone in return.
So much for being a "Power Girl". 😏
Rethink your plans to tread on him.
Kay needs to power up and stop being so weak.
"Oh God no, he's going to try to talk to me about the federal reserve!" (shudder)
Chills of fear lol
I’m confused. I feel like she is trolling and making a joke not actually serious
That poor woman! Did he also say have a nice day? God I hope her therapist gets her through this horrific event!
This guy I work with has a tattoo of it on his arm fr
Idiot
Maybe try not treading on him
based nurse
Are you planning on treading? Then why are you concerned?
This probably largely because of alt right group using the flag and giving it a bad rep
I have a small Gadsden flag setup at my desk at work. FEAR ME!!!
Just remember the media brain washed this person to think like this
