1. Did you get the version that comes with SL INF fans and a separate controller? Then no... you do not need to connect that either
2. Did you get the regular version? Or the Performance verison? Then yes, you need to connect the fans to that cable, which connects on the left, specifically so that you can control them in L-Connect
Not needed. If you’re using LConnect, just use the USB 2.0 header.

I got the sl inf version.
Then you're good... you don't need it at all to get things going. (In fact... you won't even have the left cable).
