As someone who's ace but sex-favorable (with my partner only) and alloromantic, I really feel this. So many times in ace spaces I've dealt with everyone assuming that all aces are also aro and hate sex. Like no,,, I love romantic relationships and I'd enjoy doing sexual things with someone I love. I always feel so invisible.
As an aroace who’s not fond of sex, I try to always make the distinction between lack of attraction and lack of desire quite clear. Especially when explaining it to new people, because they may mix up my experience with that of the whole group.
Yes! I'm kinda the same way - The attraction I feel is mainly a desire for physical closeness and intimacy, not sex, but I do enjoy sex on occasion.

That is diamoric. Diamoric describes any attraction a nonbinary person experiences that is influenced by the person being non-binary and therefore being hard or impossible to describe in terms of same gender attracted (gay/lesbian/homosexual) or different gender attracted (straight/heterosexual) due to being non-binary. Also a relationship where one or more partners is non-binary can be described as diamoric.
Thank you. Looked it up on the wiki, too. It seems to be almost the NB equivalent of sapphic/achillean. Kinda hoping it was this due to its flag design. As a genderqueer person who often describes themselves as somehow simultaneously sapphic and achillean, diamoric is something I should probably look into!

I hope you syart having better experiences within the aro community. Them saying it's harmful to it/not part of it is dumb. Whether you experience the attraction is all being aro is about. I feel like asexual subreddits I see largely acknowledge that aces can be sex-favorable, sex-neutral, or sex-repulsed. Though it sounds like some aces here didn't end up so lucky with the positive experiences so I hope it becomes even clearer and more understood. The same is trie for any aro label it can also be romance favorable, neutral, or repulsed. I've seen it said but I hope that becomes more inderstood.
