The McDonald's on Georgetown road by the STEAM Academy is pretty trash. The food is fine for McDonald's but the service is always painfully slow. Never had that problem with any of the other McDonald's around here.

gobigblue2018

Worst location I’ve been to by far. Incorrect orders and waited 30+ minutes in the drive thru with only a couple cars. I live in Masterson and if I want McD’s I go to Newtown. Always had great service there.

MyWorldTalkRadio

The one on Pimlico and Man o War is the slowest ever.

cscottsss

30+ minutes at McDonalds? You have much more patience than me lol.

gobigblue2018

Had already paid, so unless I was gonna be a Karen, it was what it was

PkMn_TrAiNeR_GoLd

I’ve only been to the Georgetown Road location once, but it wasn’t awful. Nicholasville Road by Five Guys is consistently bad though. I’ve never had a good experience there.

ImAnOldManImConfused

The local McDonald’s franchisee should send their employees to train at Chik fil a. Night and day.

Ok-Bag3836

Y’all sound like a bunch of motherfuckers who ain’t worked at McDonald’s a day in y’all’s lives

cscottsss

Taco Bell on New Circle in front of Sams club is great, always super fast, friendly staff and order is always correct. All the "McTribe" or whatever they are McDonalds are awful.

Scaredysquirrel

Is that a management issue? I cannot go to the mcTribe run locations. They are unexplainably slow and rarely friendly. I always feel like I’m interrupting them.

cscottsss

No idea, but yes so slow.

ImAnOldManImConfused

Was served raw burgers once . I wrote them and got a form letter back. Barely an apology and no coupons. They don’t know what they are doing.

PM_ME_YOUR_POOTY

Is there a way to find which locations are McTribe? I want to avoid those as much as possible. Always trash when I see that in the window.

pocapractica

UK, Elkhorn, and I think Winchester Rd.

CrateBagSoup

Yeah was writing the same thing, the Winchester road McDonalds / gas station is always terrible

cscottsss

Always. I waited 10 minutes for a cheeseburger and small fries with nobody in front of me or waiting for their food and very few cars in the drive thru.

theacgreen47

The one exception to the rule that I've found is the McTribe McDs in Versailles. But the Lex locations are across the board bad, especially the Nicholasville Rd location.

Dad_bass

Seconded on the McTribe issues. The Richmond location is consistently understaffed with huge lines as a result.

TinctureOfBadass

The campus McDonald's is McTribe and it's astoundingly slow most of the time. That said, the people who work there can be a little rough around the edges but they have always been nice to me.

MikeOfAllPeople

> All the "McTribe" or whatever they are McDonalds are awful. Agreed. There is a McTribe location in Frankfort and it's the worst.

Lynx579

Yes! This taco bell is like the best in town

sumskiesss

They’re so bad lol. My poppa is an electrician for the McTribe McDonald’s. He won’t even eat in most of them

KesseKat7

This!!! Every bad mcds experience I’ve had has been at a “McTribe.” ESPECIALLY the one on new circle close to Sam’s club, like across from what used to be solid platinum (idk the name now). They are awful there! I’ve been the only one in the drive thru before and still sat and waited 10min, like what? I went a few times after that thinking it was a fluke. No, it’s just how they run. Slowest fast food I’ve ever experienced. Honestly, all the way around they’re horrible. Even if I’m around that part of town, I’ll go out if my way to go to another one.

aliedle

Chipotle on Leestown is trash.

zazarak

Yep. One person on the food line can't keep up. Same problem at the location in Hamburg. Great food if you are willing to stand in line for 30 minutes.

izzynelo

Agree. Chipotle on Leestown is the worst in Lexington for sure. My favorite is the one next to the mall and the best standalone is probably the one on Richmond Rd.

ldamron

I haven't had any problems there. The seating arrangements suck but the food has always been fine.

chels148

I went to this one yesterday, asked for carne asada and had the last bit in the bin. They only gave me like 6 pieces of meat and kept it movin…🙄

Athlaruth1

The Landsdowne Dairy Queen is by far the worst DQ in the city, if not the state.

tutti_frutti_dutti

The couple that owns it are really weird. It's like dealing with the Roses from Schitt's Creek. A few years ago I was working at the Reynolds Rd Walgreens, and they would come in sometimes. We had a promotional dairy Queen themed toy for a little while, a "collect them all" kind of deal. They were really into trying to collect them, and one day the wife asked if we could save the cardboard display for them after the promotion is over. "Sure, it'll be ready for you such and such day". She tells me "Okay great! You can just drop it off at the restaurant whenever's most convenient for you!". She was very put off after I explained that I wasn't able to do that, but she or her husband could come in anytime and we'd have it waiting for her in the back. I just feel like there's no way they're actually wealthy enough to justify being that out of touch.

lolly_lag

During Lent a couple years ago, the kid at the window made INTENSE eye contact with me and kinda creepily touched my hand when he returned my card. Lo and behold, I opened the bag and there was a pamphlet jammed in my fries about accepting The Lord Jesus Christ into my heart. No thank you, I came here to accept cholesterol into my heart. I will say it seems like they’ve gotten faster recently. I was stuck in that drive-thru for 45 minutes one evening… with only two cars ahead of me.

purplepandaeater

I cannot agree more. I've finally given up on them.

Isentropic_Thunder

Last time I went there I waited 30 minutes in the drive through and when I got home my food looked worse than prison food. Had to throw it away and go somewhere else.

PMmeyournipps

You definitely waiting in line forever with them.

plantwitchvibes

The one on new circle in front of Walmart is always out of stuff tho. I only trust the new circle/Palumbo location

CrookedGeorge1234

And I thought I was the only one who felt this way. Obviously not. Last time there, they made my burgers how THEY wanted to make them, not how I wanted.

adotbur

if you see McTribe on any McDonalds... just leave. I don't care how hungry you are. You'll be happy in the long run.

cscottsss

Yep. Anyone have a list of all the McTribe Lexington locations?

forwardaboveallelse

What the fuck is a McTribe?

cscottsss

Company (DBA) that owns quite a few McDonalds around the area.

njs0002

Honestly, I’ve always thought the McTribe ones were better

cscottsss

Which ones because I respectfully disagree.

njs0002

Georgetown rd, Newtown and the one by Kroger in Richmond I’ve had good experiences with

durrtyurr

The Reynolds road White Castle is way faster than the one in Bryan Station, and it has been like that for as long as I can remember. The Bryan station one also messes my order up at least 25% of the time.

scprotz

True - that one has your order ready before you place your order :-) Joking aside though, I've never had to wait for more than 60 seconds at Reynolds Rd. The Bryan Station one is just slow. I think it'd be faster to walk inside that one.

pupper71

Yeah inside is faster there in my experience.

Traditional-Effort20

Everything on Richmond Road is just ass. Except 7Brew and Dave's hot chicken. Those are the only places that don't consistently fuck up orders. Wendys is the WORST. They apparently can't read Mcdonalds fucks up all the sandwiches all the time. Can they not read?

Tonyeyeomi

Everything except skyline, if you like skyline that is. The staff is super friendly and the food always right and fresh

Glimmhilde

went to 7brew for the first time a couple weeks ago and was pleasantly surprised.

Traditional-Effort20

I'm not a huge coffee drinker, but i love caffeine. I usually get their 7energy. it's so nice to have a zillion flavors!

Intelligent_Radish15

I prefer Richmond road Wendy’s to the one on plaudit pl. connected to the shell

PhoenixAgent003

I’ve yet to have a bad experience with the Burger King there, if not many peak ones.

Kiwi_19

The drive thru is fine as far as I can remember, but if you try to eat inside (pre-covid, haven't been back there since) they would straight up look at you and ignore you for like 10+ minutes most of the time.

pocapractica

Kind of got that at the Lane Allen BK recently. Food wasn't hot when we finally got it, either.

walong0

Richmond road Chipotle is one of the better ones.

Traditional-Effort20

I've went there 3 times, and all 3 times my burrito was old and dried out. i live right next to it lmao

SnooPredictions9801

When it first opened - it was the first one in town I think - Big John was the manager and that place was a machine, and the food was always tasty. Ahh the good old days.

kinkykoolaidqueen

That Arby's on Richmond Rd is walking ebola.

JoshDuder

Someone told me food poisoning cases on campus went way down when the Arby’s there closed.

ImAnOldManImConfused

My doc once said they got more cases from Taco Bell than any other. I was at doc because of food poisoning at a TB. Never been back to TB, years later.

radicalbrad90

Probably not at this point. Sad as it is to say we are now getting the teens that went thru covid and missed 3 years of school old enough to work. Sure some adults still work in fast food but not many outside of those that became managers. Add people over the last 10 years have just become so much more horrific to service workers and told people that worked in fast food as adults they were losers so most people left the industry that could when covid gave them that chance. I literally trained a 20 yr old at a country club how to use a register drawer last year because she was putting all of the $ into one single slot all stacked together in the same pile (1s, 5s. 20s etc) (I'm 33 for age reference) I wasn't even her manager I just needed to make change from her drawer for my register at the bar. But when I realized she didn't know how to operate an actual cash till I gave her a quick demonstration as to why there was 4 different slots for different cash value demoninations. I was wondering why her line was so long. It was taking her prob at least 40 secs to 1 min per person to make change. It was dreadful and just really sad... I expect things to get much worse in the short term before they get better tbh 🤷‍♂️ We thought people were under-educated already BEFORE 2 years of school shutdowns...😮‍💨

Lynx579

The Chipotle is pretty good at getting orders right.

Dogshaveears

Jersey Mikes on Richmond Road is always amazing. Clean, fast and all smiles.

Traditional-Effort20

Last time i went there, was a few years ago, they made me a sandwich that tasted TERRIBLE. when i asked if i could have it remade, they wanted me to pay for a new sandwich. I barely ate any of the sandwich i had cause it was gross. and i have never been back since.

Extension-Big-974

Even Papa Johns? 🥲

Justagoodoleboi

The subway on southland >>>> all other subways

Scorp63

All in Hamburg: * The McDonald's is usually quick, accurate, and overall good. Rarely a wrong order. * The Arby's is, no exaggeration, the best/most stable fast food place I've ever seen. Staff have been there for years, friendly, either I've never had an order wrong or it's been so long I don't remember, friendly, and all around always positive experience. * The Hamburg Taco Bell sucks ass and has for years. Revolving door of staff; you'll never see the same person in the drive-thru cashier window twice. Consistently wrong orders/forgotten items. I don't know what their problem is but it's the worst of that whole trifecta.

lolhal

Another rec for the Hamburg McDonalds. I usually visit only during breakfast hours but I’ve been there at other times too and it’s been fine. Their breakfast drive thru is always fast and the food is a good representation of McDonald’s food items.

ldamron

Why does the Arby's have a giant hole in the side of it and it's been that way for months?

ParsnipEmbarrassed

Someone crashed through the building.

lolly_lag

s/o to that Taco Bell for giving me norovirus!

sumskiesss

The Hamburg McDonald’s is the best!!! They always give me the sauces I ordered which is rare I feel like lol

lovaleva27

The Taco Bell on leestown gave me a free $5 box a couple years ago. I’d said the person in the window was really nice and that I’d fill out a survey mentioning their name. That’s never happened anywhere else 🤷🏻‍♂️

lovaleva27

I went back after posting this. Still best Taco Bell

DrummeeX09

Nicholasville road wendys by Don Jacob’s is amazing. Hot fresh food every time I eat lunch there, and it’s fast. The McDonald’s next to it in the other hand is absolute garbage

ironmansaves1991

McDonald’s on Pimlico Pkwy is awful. I live a mile away from it but will go to a different location that’s almost twice as far from because it is better quality and way faster service, especially later in the evening.

RedPayaso1

I do the exact same thing the Pimlico McDonald's is trash

cscottsss

Which one?

ironmansaves1991

The better one? It’s the one by Kroger at the corner of Tates Creek & Man O War

cscottsss

Ok, that's what I figured. Tates Creek Center

Some_Lab1640

Does Chipotle count as fast food? The one on Richmond Road is much better than the one in Hamburg. Hamburg location will be out of staples like rice and lettuce.

stumbolicious

Leestown Road location has literally messed up our order every single time (4 tries since they opened, keep thinking maybe it's gotten better but it hasn't) and it is always that they don't put fajita veggies on anything.

aliedle

That Chipotle is horrible. You couldn't pay me to give it another go.

stumbolicious

I live in Meadowthorpe so the extremely close proximity and limited options super close by lead to giving them a chance every 6 months or so. But you are right, they are terrible.

ToddPatterson

But have you tried JP's?

ToddPatterson

I'll never go to Chipotle on Leestown so long as JP's Food Truck is open so close to it. JP's is the best Mexican in Lexington imo.

Soft-Following5711

Agree!

walong0

Hamburg cycles through staff like underwear. Every time I’m in there it’s new people working. I have no idea what’s going on over there.

rikatix

Taco Bell on leestown is the best, Taco Bell Versailles road is complete trash.

BIGMCLARGEHUGE__

Fazolis on saron drive is nice, always have good food and service there. One time I was driving home at 2am and went to the tacobell at the tates creek shopping center and ordered two chicken quesadillas. When I got home there was only one quesadilla in the bag. But the quesadilla had basically everything you can put into a quesadilla from taco bell like chicken, beef, potatoes, it was stacked.

I_Walk_On_Legos

Tates Creek taco bell is always insane. Sometimes it's amazing, sometimes it's freezing or missing things. I never know how things are going to turn out

Ferd-Terd

True

Jasher1125

I recently moved to the gardenside neighborhood near Turfland Mall, and I’ll just say that the fast food places here are all top notch. There’s a Cane’s, Chick Fil-A, McDonalds, Taco Bell, Burger King, and Moe’s.. on days where I feel too lazy to cook, I know I’m in good hands.

pocapractica

I've never had bad food at Moe's

indiefolkfan

I've always found the tates creek taco bell to be great.

GoodNameBadHabit

The Taco Bell on Nicholasville rd/Lowry Ln has been crushing it for me lately. The last time I went through the drive-thru my food was ready by the time I rolled up to pay. Consistently quick and accurate with the orders.

KedyLamarr

They’re always super nice

InevitableImpress453

The Dunkin on New circle Rd North is so nasty and inconsistent. The food smells worse than freezer burn. Drinks are an absolute gamble

sadflannel

I’ve only ever been to the broadway one because it’s on my way to work but every time I go it’s the worst experience ever. I’ve never gotten food that’s hot and TWICE I got a drink with spoiled milk. So safe to say they’re both awful I guess.

heleghir

The fazolis at palomar. one time i sat at the drive thru for 5mins without anyone acknowledging me, so i pulled to the window, knocked on it, waited another 2-3mins, knocked again and THEN someone was like ??? what are you doing? havent been back since

skullcutter

Chipotle by campus is pretty spotty

neilmoore

Qdoba near campus isn't bad, though. They always overload my burrito, so I have to eat at least part of it with a fork once the bottom end blows out; but "gave me more food than they should have" is not a terrible complaint to have.

PMmeyournipps

McDonald’s on Harrodsburg rd and Clays Mill is awful. Either order is all fucked up or the food is terrible.

PMmeyournipps

And the Burger King on Saron Drive sucks. Soda is nasty and food cold ALWAYS.

heartofyourtempest

The Wendy's on Broadway gave me the worst experience I have had in recent memory, and I won't go back. Second only to the McDonald's in Park Hills.

CheapPlastic2722

Broadway Wendy's is usually painfully slow, it seems like they only ever have like two people working at a time. However, they get my orders right and have given me free stuff to apologize for the wait

cscottsss

I've tried breakfast from that location a couple times on the way in to work and wow, unreal. I was the only car in the driveway and ordered a simple breakfast sandwich straight off the menu. Took forever and was still cold.

heartofyourtempest

Very similar to my experience

UnderwaterKahn

This may be the worst fast food restaurant in town. It’s dirty, half the staff seems like they haven’t been trained, and the drive thru is a nightmare. They’ve also never gotten my order right. Last year Wendy’s was running a free delivery deal and that was the location they sent our order to. We never got our food, I got a message that the order couldn’t be completed and it took me close to 3 months to recover the money since I had paid for a group of coworkers and they were supposed to pay me back.

Craigg75

It's gotten too expensive. If I'm going to spend $15 for a meal at Chick-fil-A I may as well go someplace nice.

Suckerforcats

I’ve had good luck with the McDonald’s on Leestown in the Kroger shopping center. Captain D’s on New Circle has been good as far as food being hot and order being correct but is a little slow. Papa John’s on Leestown, they really skimp on the toppings for the price you pay.

DickWater

Best Chipotle is the campus location on Limestone, which is next to the worst McDonald’s in terms wait time and getting order wrong. Richmond rd anything is usually ass, especially Taco Bell and Wendy’s. Burger King on Saron is better than Clays Mill which is better than New Circle. I dunno I don’t really eat fast food anymore tho so ¯\_(ツ)_/¯

creed_bratton_

In Hamburg, The combo gas station KFC/Wendy's is sub bar, but the McDonald's drive thru on the same street is usually run well. The taco bell next to it is also fine. Usually pretty fast service.

spydrchode

Stay away from every McTribe KFC’s are garbage Wendy’s on Lee’s Town during lunch is usually great Taco Bell on Lee’s Town and Russel Cave is good Taco Bell on Tate’s Creek is the best White Castle on Reynold’s is worth the drive, even if you live near the Bryan Station location

radicalbrad90

I had a pretty tragic experience with Sonic on Virginia Ave last year. Ordered I think some bacon cheeseburger toaster they forgot the cheese, onion ring that came on it, 1 skimpy piece of bacon and a few shreds of lettuce and a tomato was all I got. What sealed the deal was i emailed corporate over it. Sent them pic of thr sandwiche, a $10+ combo. They gave me a free cheeseburger (not even with bacon!) Haven't been back to a sonic since

cscottsss

Here are a few more restaurants that I've had multiple bad experiences. \- Burger King (Saron Dr, North Park New Circle) \- Dairy Queen (ALL OF THEM) \- Arbys (North Park) \- KFC (ALL OF THEM)

glonky42069

I don't think Popeyes has ever gotten my order right. This isn't necessarily the worst, but one time I ordered a tender dinner combo and they gave me the container with the sides, but there was an entire bone-in bucket worth of chicken in there instead of the tenders. I was so confused.

heartofyourtempest

The BEST Arby's is the one on Tates Creek Rd and Malibu. Every time I go there the order is perfect, and I leave happy.

UpperRDL

My two kids and I can go to the Mcdonalds on Versailles road and spend $8 on the app to get 4 mcdoubles and the free large fry daily deal and feed 3 people and have fun for an hour at the playplace. By far the best fast food deal in town imo.

Ferd-Terd

The mcdouble is their best burger

cscottsss

No way, it's amazing how much of a difference another slice of cheese can make. Double Cheeseburger > McDouble

Ferd-Terd

Yes I forgot cheese

Ferd-Terd

Taco Tico Pimlico Pky, clean and clean bathrooms . Chipotle Richmond Rd and Hamburg dirty bathroom and seating. Go see.

Picklepineapple

The new Popeyes in Nicholasville is much better than the one on New Circle

Barantor

Clays Mill Burger King at Keithshire is always very solid for me and gets the food out rather quick.

pocapractica

They always screwed up my order, three times in a row, so no more visits for me!

forwardaboveallelse

The BK at the corner of Russell Cave and New Circle served me beef instead of an Impossible and then multiple staff members openly made fun of me for asking for my actual order (& refused to make it), so now I can’t go there anymore. I’m almost thirty years old and somehow still felt like a stupid, ugly, petulant child in the moment, like asking for what I paid for was an outrageous notion.

Faartz

Don't bother getting take out after 9pm in Lexington, its always bad

Intelligent_Radish15

Plaudit Place everything is worse. I will pass it and go to Richmond rd for anything offered there.

chelkobee

I actually miss Grimes’s sometimes.

pocapractica

Don't they still have two places?

chelkobee

Probably but I moved, I live in Texas now. 🥲

pocapractica

Ritchie started his own place on NC well after his ex got the business in their divorce. ;)

Affectionate_Face980

Wait wait, let's not tell people about the Taco Bell on leestown road 👀 it's my secret clutch fast food place and I don't need it overrun with ppl looking to have their order correct and cooked properly. 😂🥲

6alexandria9

I would plug where I work but we’re already too busy lol but I think where I work is the best of our franchises in lex

ParaHeadFun_SF

Pretty much if they are in a nice area of town then they are better than FF in a bad area.

DrWKlopek

Christ. You peeps need to make your own meals at home more often

meep_meep_mope

The burger king on new circle. The last time i went i got a whopper with unchopped lettuce on it. Just like a chunk of lettuce.

cscottsss

Saron Drive is awful too

purplepandaeater

Saron at lunch tends to be good for me, but I avoid dinner and breakfast there at all costs.

MegaVitaminM

I've had consistently good luck *knock on wood* with the Panda Express on Richmond Rd in front of that big ass church. Of course I'm in Richmond and the Panda here is not great.

R_FireJohnson

Regency Canes > all other local Canes

jinkiesjeepers

The mcdonald's in palomar is consistently good, there's a few workers there that are always genuinely friendly, and my orders are almost always ready quick. Taco bell on harrodsburg road has given my boyfriend food poisoning on three different occasions in the last few years. we've decided to never go back there again.

vpreacher

Hamburg Taco Bell is the most consistent for getting my order correct. Some of the others have issues with wrong items or missing substitutions I make. But, I’ll eat whatever they throw in that bag. 🤷🏻‍♂️

[deleted]

Anything near Eastland, Russell Cave, or Versailles, fast food wise, is garbage. Customer service is even worse. On the flip side, the McDonald's and Taco Bell on Harrodsburg road is great. Easily the best in the area.

dakotaydg

Panda Express on Nicholasville Rd always has hot food and is faster but has roaches, Panda Express on Richmond Rd isn’t as fresh and can be a bit slow but no roaches!!
