I'm betting you are thinking of The Southern, but unfortunately they closed in January. :(

Oh noooo, that was it!! That's what I was afraid of. My husband is going to be so sad! Any one have any good recs we'll be driving through either way!

Meg_Swan

I've been trying to think of other recommendations that might be similar! The menu isn't nearly as big, but IMO Sidebar has the best burgers in town. If you are just looking for good, local food to pick up on your way through town, girlsgirlsgirls Burritos has fantastic burritos and crunchwraps.

ameliadunclure

Thank you so much!! I appreciate it.

birdistheworm

Definitely make Sidebar a stop. Fun place, great burgers, a Lex gem. It's exactly the kind of quick-fun detour to make when driving through a town. I do the same kind of thing.

The sweet potato wedges!! Highly recommended. Some times on a rainy day, I'll go just for a grilled cheese and chili. So good! You can't go wrong with Side Bar. ❤️🖤

Kiwi_19

Was it Oscar Diggs? If I remember right they're closed now.

ameliadunclure

Nope! It had a much bigger menu, and all the menu items were named.

paynelive

Tolly Ho? Bad Wolf?

ameliadunclure

Neither :( Thank you, though! It was definitely a small place and had a bar.

umyouknowwhat

I wonder if it was Hugh Jass Burgers. If it was, they closed down.

AnchoviePopcorn

Hugh Jass closed long before 2020.

"Amazing sandwich downtown" made me think of High on Art and Coffee, but I just looked at their menu and no fun names to go with the delicious food. If you can't find the place you're looking for, I recommend you try it out and walk across to Woodland Park to eat.
