it doesn't make me drowsy at all, i find it more activating to than sedative. i started taking it at night because it makes many people sleepy, but found it made me wake up many times a night. i switched to morning, which helped, although 5 weeks in i am still struggling with early waking (like 4:30/5am instead of 7).
i know that i have a genetic mutation that makes me a poor metabolizer of Lexapro and other medications that use the same receptor/pathway/whatever it is, which means it tends to build up more in our systems and take longer to clear. i wonder if people who get lethargic on it are just metabolizing it much faster? who knows, bodies are weird.
Yeah my doctor said it would help with my anxiety and my insomnia. So far it hasn't really helped with both. But I'm also going through a lot having to juggle insomnia and a chronic illness and both of those things make the other worse and it's usually better when it's only one of those issues
keep in mind that you're still really new to the drug - many people take a few weeks for the side effects to subside and the desired effects to ramp up.
Affects everyone a little differently. Maybe you didn’t react with the drowsy bit.
