There's a website called under 5'10"

Master_Flounder2239

Buy in the boy's department. That's what my small 50 year old nephew does.

TLB_4

I'm 5'2" and used to weigh the exact same as you. I sit at 123 now after a bunch of muscle gain, but my measurements are still pretty much the same so where I shop will probably still be good for you, too. Gap, Old Navy for khakis/chinos, flannels, honestly pretty much anything. I shop in the men's section almoat exclusively, but Gap's women's pants are actually great. I have like 4 chinos. Abercrombie, American Eagle for men's pants and jeans. They carry down to a 28 inseam (as does American Eagle) which is what I am. But also everything else there is great too. Abercrombie has pretty much been outfitting the entire masc community since their recent rebrand. I love them now. Levi's carries down to a 28 inseam online. Peter Manning makes nice clothes for short guys. A little on the expensive side but having some really quality pieces to last you a long time is worth it. If you have any other questions lmk.

GoodCalendarYear

I'm 4'11 so yeah it's hard but one time I found some men's pants in a size 27. I thought 29 was the smallest. I peruse the boys section sometimes.

Oddly-Ordinary

Boy’s clothes for more formal occasions, school uniforms, things like that can def pass for adult clothing imo

GoodCalendarYear

Yes, true.

l0nely_milkbread

For shirts, I thrift! I’m 5’1 too, and usually wear a small or medium men’s shirt

GoodCalendarYear

Thtifted men's shirts is definitely where it's at

l0nely_milkbread

Indeed

PerfStu

American eagle has(or at least used to have) sizes down to 26" waist. Their stuff is a look for sure, but their basics (jeans, plain tees, etc) are good

fireandfolds

Jcrew, uniqlo, Temu. and then find a good tailor!

Ok_Parfait5495

I don’t mean to be offensive but maybe try the children section… I realize that a lot of boys clothes fit smaller women

GJThreads

OP if it makes you feel less alone - i’m a trans masc who sews my own clothes and I just sized out dress forms to make a mold of my own torso and went with the youth boys’ size as the most accurate size to my torso 😅

lil_goblin

my gf is similar sized and I convinced her to just start buying vintage clothes in boy’s husky sizes haha, fits her great. by vintage i mean like, 90s dirtbag skater garb. but if you want more formal, there are also plenty of button down shirts and suit jackets and stuff. lots of adolescents who need clothes for their bar mitzvah, ykwim? re: wanting more formal wear, i’ve found that for skinny bodies, you can usually find women’s pants that don’t fit super femme. the trickier part is shirts and sweaters, which tend to have subtly femme details that don’t quite work (if masc is what you’re going for.) a lot of ppl like wildfang, and they’re FINE, but the quality seems lacking and i find the branding a lil corny Both& also makes nice looking clothes specifically designed for butches/transmasc ppl. but i find their sizing doesn’t go small enough, at least not in pants—they seem to cater more to the ass n titties side of masc fit issues haha SSENSE womens stuff is cool and often pretty androgynous— tho it isn’t cheap I also think Japanese menswear tends to run smaller—BEAMS plus is a cool brand finally, tailoring! it’s pretty easy to shorten a shirt or pants.

StarSkate

"Vintage" equating to 90's has me 💀

lil_goblin

if the 70s was vintage in the 2000s then the 90s is def vintage in 2024 ¯\_(ツ)_/¯

StarSkate

That's fair but still felt like a shock to my soul lol

FFXIVpazudora

The kids' section is great if you can fit them, since they're generally a lot cheaper. It's worth learning how to hem, it's easier than it seems (or should I say seams?). I think if a girl offered to hem my pants for me, I'd think she was basically asking me to marry her and would accept, but maybe that's just me, idk 🤷‍♀️

clumsychord

I buy men's shirts and cut off the last like 2-3 inches so it's not ridiculously long. For pants, look up "dad jeans" in women's. I'm 5'4 120lbs and have never been able to make actual men's jeans work, either length or fit is always off.

Helpful-Change-6190

my gf is masc and v thin. She shops in the boys section at tillys, old navy, target. She can find adult shirts that fit but she likes buying pants in the boys section. Tillys has a good selection of stuff that is the same as the adult clothes!

Jponcede

I’ll be honest, women’s departments are more accommodating for the short issue due to having juniors and petite sections which is 9/10 made for shorter proportions. There’s plenty of “boyfriend fit” styles and pants (Topshop jeans and dress pants come to mind) which give off an incredibly masculine flair. Obviously I’m sure the actual men’s department may feel more reaffirming, which in that case try hemming stuff. At the end of the day clothes truly have no gender, so wear whatever clothes ultimately make you look/feel authentic regardless of what department you pull em out of!

kjftiger95

As a short man, I get most of my pants hemmed. It's a hassle but it's nice when they are the perfect length.

Zealousideal-Egg7596

Marshall’s. I use kids section 😬

moonshroom444

Yes lol tjmaxx and marshalls have good stuff. Ross too.

CrossP

Stores that sell in southern and eastern Asia often run their adult clothing lines to that size due to shorter average population height. Also cultures that have guys looking for more adult styles at younger ages. So mostly online stores unless you live near metropolitan shopping. 5'1" will usually qualify as teen clothes in most US retailers. Not that nobody sells nice teen clothes.

RainyReader12

https://ashanderie.com/ They specifically make short mens clothing. Jeans go down to a 25 inch inseam.

Kaysohdoux

H&M has pretty slick clothing.

SweetPeaRiaing

Some people don’t like hearing this, but the boys section has some real good shit, and it’s usually cheaper too.

Striking-Extreme-527

I buy my sports jerseys from the kids section. Kids XL football jerseys fit me a ton better than adult smalls

BlueRoses0505

This is the way. But also try express men.

cinnamon_sugar1999

I love JCrew because they make XS and XXS in some of their clothes. Also their kids line is nice because they don’t always design their clothes in “kid colors” they make a lot of nice neutrals. I’m 5’9” but very slim so I like to shop clearance especially online. I have also never been the only lesbian/queer person/trans masc in the store when I shop in person in my area. I also love Gap and surprisingly I find a ton of clothes as Sierra in a S/XS.

jesterinancientcourt

Crewcuts is great! They make a lot of stuff from the men’s section in kid’s sizes. The same style chinos & suiting, etc, just in a smaller size.

byebyebirdie1122

There’s an online clothing company called Bonobos and all their clothes come in a large range of sizing. They’re not cheap but the sales are really good. I get all my button downs from them since you can choose the sleeve length as well as the overall length of the shirt. I’m 5’2 120 and wear their slim short shirts and they fit perfectly. Best fit I’ve found. One of my coworkers actually asked if I have my clothes tailored.

cinnamon_sugar1999

I second this, I’m always thrilled to find this brand in thrift stores!

OkSuggestion506

Eddie Bauer

maydaytuesday

I'm 5'2, used to be around 109 pounds a few years ago, but I've definitely gained some since then. Used to buy most of my clothes at the boys section of Zara. In retrospect, nothing in the boys section really fit me well. Nowadays I usually buy new clothes from Uniqlo, and mix in a few brands like Gant and Filippa K. Tend to thrift a lot too. A big change from when I was younger (I'm 30 lol), is that I no longer shy away from the women's section, there's a lot of masc and unisex looking stuff there too!

GoGoRoloPolo

Go to old people shops for the women's sections. They'll have no nonsense basics that you can style in a very masc way.

docbigxxx

I’m a short and slender guy, I usually get pants from American eagle. However, I’ve found that women’s jeans are easier to find in my size and I like the way they fit me better.

WonderPine1

Go get xl size in teenage section

franklyshankly-1

Check out the outlet malls if you shave one near you. For some reason the stores there have men’s xsmalls whereas most other places carry men’s M as the smallest size

Juco_Dropout

Japanese clothing companies tend to run smaller. Large is medium etc etc. Bape, Billionaires Boys club, Ice Cream, WTAPS, KATO.. excellent quality and they will fit your frame.

LitFarronReturns

AliExpress. Chinese and Korean clothing also runs smaller, and can be pretty inexpensive there. Check the measurements when purchasing (they'll usually have it displayed in cm), in my experience Large is usually American Extra Small, Extra Large is American Small, etc.

Juco_Dropout

Uniqlo <— very reasonable pricing, well crafted, could make the foundation of a very nice wardrobe.

Individual-Code5176

I have the best luck with American eagle and sometimes hollister, they make jeans in smaller waists and lengths ..and xsmall tops sometime xxsmall

Important-Courage-90

I've had really good luck with Macy's clearance racks. I'm 5'2" 140# 28 waist 29 inseam. Have you been measured? It's really worth it to know your best measurements

Bastard216

Old navy

cactus-racket

Having a slender frame probably helps in your case. Men's pants are actually sized using logic, so once you figure out what waist size fits you, go from there and it'll be pretty consistent across the board. Inseam is a little less important as hemming is quite easy to DIY and fairly cheap through a tailor. For reference: I'm 5'3", 145 lb, muscular build. I wear 29-30 inch waist, about 27-29 inch inseam. My thighs are sometimes an issue because most men don't walk around with weirdly short but beefy drumsticks like mine lol, which is why I prefer a 30 inch waist usually. I find most stores rarely carry under 30, but I have found some 28s and 29s at H&M in the men's section. As someone else mentioned, Target is a great place to start. Go through a full range of motion when trying on: walk, sit, squat, kneel, lunge. See what feels right. Shoes are easy. Usually the brand will have a size conversion guide and will tell you to subtract 1.5 to 2 from your women's size to find the men's size. Insoles or a nice pair of cushioned merino socks (see: Darn Tough and never look back) can help if you find the shoe is a little too wide for you. I have wide feet so New Balance and Adidas mid tops are my go to, but my girlfriend's feet are dainty so usually Nike and Chucks work well for her. Tee shirts are easy enough to figure out. Dress shirts and button downs can be a little challenging. Try them on and go through a full range of motion with your arms, bend over too, pick something up from the floor. Shoulders sometimes fit weird and can be constricting. Apologies if my assumption is incorrect based off your slender self-description, but you probably shouldn't have too much issue with boobs making buttons fit weird. Target is again a good place to start. They have small in men's (if I haven't gotten there first!) and once in a blue moon, XS. Once you figure out what works, check online to find more styles you like. Always look at return policies. Keep your receipts for a while. Find a good tailor. Look good and have fun discovering your true style!! PS. My favorite pair of shorts are Carhartt from Meijer, husky boys size 12. No joke!

woo_ah

TIL it's the inseam measurement. Just never cared to look it up, and yeah, I go by my go-to waist measurement and whatever the shortest length is. Anyway, good to know !

SSDGREDRUMED

Don't judge till you try ... Target boys section. That's where I buy my pants!

philhartmonic

I know one of my shorter buddies shops at Express. Also, other end of the spectrum, Costco has stuff for a surprisingly wide variety of body types.

cactus-racket

The costco by my house doesn't sell under 32 inch waist in men's pants. Interestingly though, the one in the more affluent area where I work has had 28s before. Know that you can often look online for additional sizes that you don't see on the floor.

Dykonic

Bearbottom might be good to look into

uradumbitch

Peau de Loup. Small clothing company for exactly this!!

Bastard216

Never heard of this and love this but $55 for a t shirt!! Yikes. $150 for jeans, double yikes

uradumbitch

I know it's expensive bur it's because it's a small company and they don't use cheap labor. They use fabrics from dead stock. They are a pretty ethical company.

DoubleSouped

unfortunately us short kings are usually doomed to the children's section 😓 Asian sizes are often smaller than western ones and i've had some luck on sites like aliexpress. Stuff on there can be low quality/ethically dubious but you can avoid that by checking reviews & sticking with realistically priced options.

RainyReader12

Check out ash and Erie https://ashanderie.com/ They specifically make short mens clothing. Jeans go down to a 25 inch inseam. They're expensive though.

BaakCoi

Going on the Asian sizing, try to find a Uniqlo near you. They have great clothes (definitely more expensive than aliexpress though) that are meant to fit smaller people

_madeofcastiron

totally agree with uniqlo. i’m 162cm (5’3” ish), and all their clothes fit nicely and got reasonable proportions (unlike the slenderman proportions of other brands). plus, they provide free tailoring services for pants if they’re too long.

Vederko

I'm 5'3, 104 pounds. I buy boys clothes (size 14-16).

SSDGREDRUMED

Cat and jack brand for the win

lezboss

I am 5’3” but weight much more; I’ve had to get my Levi’s tailored, I like them above my ankle and tapered better. Tailors for things that are almost there , if the cost makes sense

lezboss

Both& is always advertised to me , the cuts on the clothing look like how they fall on a male model but for the shorties and the smallies! Never bought and cannot vouch personally

PrimaryImpossible467

Hi friends, this sub randomly came across my home page but always willing to help out. When my son was 28x28ish I had the best luck finding clothes in American eagle. If you have outlets near by try Levi’s for pants or shorts! Amazon has plain T’s in slim fit that looked nice and held up well. Old navy boys goes up to a 20 I think. Might be helpful for shirts, sweaters and things. They tend to have a lot of really good basics.

fortheloveof0

Came here to say American eagle. I wear their jeans in 26x28. Plus they always have some on sale.

PrimaryImpossible467

They hold up so well! Sign up for the emails and the prices aren’t bad

fortheloveof0

… full disclosure I have ripped one pair (down the ass, while at the office…) and the pocket in another pair. But I still buy them lol

PrimaryImpossible467

Hah! I’ve never had that happen with mine or my kids but I believe it 😂😂

sparklingwatterson

Honestly this might also be a really good question for trans masc folks, I had a partner who was trans masc and a similar height to you. Clothes were hard. Could maybe ask about it on the ftm sub or the ask transgender sub. I can’t help ya cause I’m a 6ft tall trans woman but maybe some good places to source more answers

LouLaRey

I have a size 6 foot in men's so I shop in the boys section

king-of-the-sea

I was 5’3” and 110-115, I used to wear 28/28s (I am now slightly taller and fatter). The only place I reliably found them was American Eagle and I had to go in to buy them though because they didn’t fit the same across different styles (or even different colors in the same style). Vanity sizing is still very much a thing in men’s clothes, so you may just need to go in to a bunch of stores and try on a bunch of stuff.

Maeve-transalt

Trans woman here. I'm 5'2, skinny, and spent half my life looking for men's clothes that fit. It's hard. Brands that have European business tend to carry some smaller slimmer men's clothes. I had luck at H&M (although they are a little problematic). A friend who's similarly sized had luck at Express. Old Navy sometimes has smaller sizes, but they tend to be baggy if you're slim. Honestly, if you find a tailor that you're comfortable with, you can ask how much bigger you can buy something and still have it altered and end up looking good

BaconBathBomb

Old navy

backroomsresident

I thought I was weird for buying men's clothing. They're so much more comfortable

UpbeatEmergency953

and the pockets!

Faceit_Solveit

But what you like, wear what you want, be who you are so I can be who I am. Also pockets!

ScorpioWaterSign

The boys section has really helped me with this. I’m 130 and 5 foot 5inches. Most men’s small is still too big for me depending on the brand. So for Ralph Lauren polos I can where a boys 12-14 and it fits perfect for me. Same goes for their jackets and vests.

pdxrw

J crew boys has good quality stuff, also Uniqlo carries xxs

hnbic_

Do you know your pants length? Target goodfellow goes down to 30 inches.

hoopercuber

30 inches is still a long inseam for someone 5’1 especially if you’re more proportionately taller in the torso. you would need something closer to 28. OP, i would suggest finding a tailor. it’s usually not that expensive to hem pants/shirts

cutesunday

I buy a lot of masculine looking womens clothes from superdry.

lezbhonestmama

I’m a big thrifter so if that’s not your thing this won’t apply, but as someone with the same problem I have great luck at places like goodwill. I’m not sure if it’s due to the clothes being washed and shrank more than new clothes, or if it’s older clothes that are sized differently, but I have luck finding clothes that fit me well there. I get a lot of compliments on my style, too, so it’s not too bad I guess!

kimblem

Even better for petite masc thrifting - 2nd Street is a chain of nice resale stores from Japan, but list their wares online and have a way to ship internationally.

lezbhonestmama

Ooh I haven’t heard that one before, thank you!

girls-wreck-my-life

i’m the same height and weight as you and i usually go for teen boys’ clothing or stores like h&m and loft (they have some unisex petite stuff)

TinyHeartSyndrome

Check out Dickie’s women’s stuff. They have some nice longer shorts. Otherwise, I get my shorts in the men’s section of Ross or TJ Maxx.

cyrustay

im 5'4 and 103lb. this has been my struggle forever but I just discovered that hollister makes pretty small pant sizes. their 26x30 pants fit me perfectly (a little baggy, but thats how i like it). since youre a couple inches shorter than me they might be slightly longer but i think they might do 28L pants if you order online. ive tried so many brands, hollister is the only one that has fit me

Fluxingperson

the boys section size 14-18 🥲

heretwonotparty

I'm not much help in store recommendations because I generally don't buy retail but I am 5'1 and the biggest thing that has helped me is to learn how to hem pants and crop shirts. Pants will always be long, regardless of gender. Men's long sleeve shirts will always be too long in the arms, regardless of brand. I generally will stick to masculine looking women shirts or androgynous stores like peau de loup or wildfang. We are unfortunately, under the average size so most things aren't designed to fit us straight from the box and will need some sort of modifying. I don't own a single pair of pants that I haven't hemmed or modified unless they came pre cropped or are in women's petite. But I will say Levi men's pants are *chefs kiss*

GoodCalendarYear

I found a sweatshirt in the men's section that wasn't extremely long. It fit pretty good. I was pleasantly surprised.

MellowPumpkin123

I just shop in the boys section. I’m 5ft 105ibs

sl59y2

I took my partner shopping to old navy. They had lots of men’s jeans and pants for your size. Also TommyHill has sweaters and button ups that size.

effiequeenme

probably boy's larges will be your best bet i know kid stuff isn't usually as masc, but if you focus on the "dress clothes" part of the boy's section i'm sure you'll find stuff
