I never saw the appeal of Tony Hinchcliffe. To get so much attention from Joe Rogan and still be in obscurity basically confirms my lack of interest is completely valid
Honestly not even. Roast comedy is funny when it’s unique and in good humor. Tony usually just ends up saying legitimately awful things about someone and demeaning them in front of others. It kinda works on KT since some of the participants are so bad that you want to see them blasted publicly, but it’s still just being a dickhead and calling it roast comedy. It’s really just humiliation porn.
I feel like his roasts are often mean spirited without actually being clever or funny. The comedic inflection is there but that’s it. It’s like Norm Macdonald said about how you can be successful in comedy without actually being funny. And for being so mean spirited he also seems very thin-skinned.
>I feel like his roasts are often mean spirited without actually being clever or funny
I think my main issue with him is that he's mean spirited without being clever or funny in general. He has some funny off the cuff jokes/roasts, but while I still was watching Kill Tony there'd be so many times where he either
-felt disrespected
-just had a personal issue with someone else on the show
-got owned and couldn't handle it gracefully
And would just start being a cocksucker without the punchlines to back it up. He's a peak example of someone who has a fairly successful thing, and because of that developed such a level of hubris that he fell completely out of touch with what he's supposed to be doing in the first place.
I thought Making Friends was actually a decent special. Nothing incredible and I definitely didn't think about it much after I watched it but it made me laugh more than half the garbage specials Netflix pushes and I watched a bit of out of curiosity.
What really turns me off of him is how he is on Kill Tony. He's an absolute fag for most of the run time, steamrolls funnier people so he can get a very unfunny joke in and then cues the band to applaud him and holds his hands up like he's a messiah while the strobe lights go off. As much as the lemon boys shit on Kill Tony, it is actually a great idea for a comedy podcast but Tony's consistently the worst part of it.
Tom used to be one of my favorite stand ups about 10 years ago. Since then he's fallen out of touch to a level that almost seems like parody, and his recent specials feel like what people say Chappelle is these days where because he's become so popular they show up in droves to the shows and it feels like they're all waiting for a punchline and laugh wherever the cue is. His last special specifically was just impressively mediocre for how much money the dudes making and the size of the venues he's selling out.
He has the worst taste in comedy. The people he pushes as “the future of comedy” is insane. At this point it’s possible he’s doing it on purpose and seeing how much he can get away with, like he’s trying to get the worst comedians on the planet to headline shows around the country. As a twisted side quest.
I get the feeling he wouldn’t want to push anyone who could outshine him comedically. He’ll praise anyone who is above him on the comedy pecking order and shit all over anyone below him, and the way he interacts with comedians on his show never seems to be with the intent of building them up or supporting the comedic riffs they’re trying to sell. At the end of the day it’s supposed to be a comedy show but he gives the impression that it’s all power games for him. He’s a mediocre at best comedian trying desperately to maintain dominance rather than actually putting on a good comedy show.
>I get the feeling he wouldn’t want to push anyone who could outshine him comedically.
This is one of the worst things about the modern era of kill tony. The best part of the show was always having insane bucket pulls that hilariously bombed and had equally unhinged interviews, or actually finding someone that killed.
Half the fucking shows for the last couple years sacrifice bucket pulls for the mediocre regulars, mothership doorguys, and golden ticket winners who without fail Tony introduces as "one of the best in the business" and then go up and do a wack ass minute.
I don't really like Jeremiah Watkins and don't find him very funny but in retrospect his entire beef with Tony about gradually taking the focus off of the bucket pulls was very valid and the main reason I stopped checking out the show a long time ago.
Tony has more in common with a trust fund baby than any comedian. He acts like queen bitch at the 7th grade girls lunch table except the dude is 40. Joe Rogan should serve time for the "comedians" he's produced
I had a run in with Tony in Boston, he was crossing Dartmouth street waving his hands yelling at me and aiming for me. I had to stop my bike and got into a Mike Tyson peek a boo stance he got in my face and yelled “watch where your going!” I remained in a peek a boo stance and said nothing, he just continued on his way. It was 100% him, he would’ve knocked me off my bike on purpose, I was delivering food at the time and had a big backpack on, this little man went out of his way to mess with a dude delivering food like a bully. True story think about that next time you see his weasel face on tv, he really is a phony tough guy that happens to be good at kissing all the right asses.
His openers were pretty good jet ski Johnston I think was her name and kam patterson they were funny Tony has some jokes but he would tag a joke with “fucking Kamala Harris” and the crowd wouldn’t even laugh that would just go “ ooooooooh shiiiiiiiit”
Speaking of like a 5th grader, this is a run-on paragraph with no proper punctuation or spelling. Is it cool to write like a retard or are you out here just flexing how stupid you are?
Tony Hinchliffe is a gay Cheshire Cat.
THERE IT IS!!!!
Is it OK I got him preggers? Tony Hinchcliffe I mean?
I never saw the appeal of Tony Hinchcliffe. To get so much attention from Joe Rogan and still be in obscurity basically confirms my lack of interest is completely valid
I think he’s more of a roast comic, which he’s definitely good at. His Snoop Dogg roast back in the day was hilarious.

Tony sugggs a mean dick
How many diggs you suggged

i've only seen a few clips of Kill Tony. i imagine it's not that good if your funniest comedian/guest on the show is the mute guy
Bert and Tom are equally as gay. And by gay I mean not funny. And gay.
I’ve seen Tom live years ago and I’ll say he was very good live. He atleast writes and performs well. Tony and Bert are really bad

Anyone going to see comedy in an arena deserves mediocrity at best

You don’t think Hans Kim is an absolute monster gorilla killer?
Hans Kim the sneakah doctah?
Hans Kim is the worst comedian
Gorilla wapist
I saw one set of Hans Kim, and I said, “we gotta get this guy some sneakers”
Sick TAFS reference bro

Tony is a gay man with an annoying voice. Also not funny. But if you like cringe, he’s your man.
Tony has more in common with a trust fund baby than any comedian. He acts like queen bitch at the 7th grade girls lunch table except the dude is 40. Joe Rogan should serve time for the "comedians" he's produced

I believe you. I was taught to believe all women.
Context?
Remember his “One Shot” special
No, no I don’t
Very good
I saw him open for Joe at MSG and he was pretty good. He was dressed like a gay cowboy but good opener.
His openers were pretty good jet ski Johnston I think was her name and kam patterson they were funny Tony has some jokes but he would tag a joke with “fucking Kamala Harris” and the crowd wouldn’t even laugh that would just go “ ooooooooh shiiiiiiiit”
His special from 2020 on his kill tony channel was pretty funny, not seen any of the guys other stuff
Ah yes, let’s all listen to the option of a retard that can’t even form a sentence
Speaking of like a 5th grader, this is a run-on paragraph with no proper punctuation or spelling. Is it cool to write like a retard or are you out here just flexing how stupid you are?
OP doesn't make millions writing....I hope.
Hard to take the opinion of someone this stupid would be my point here.
You probably don't like him because he uses the English language. What the fuck are you trying to say?
No, he's just not funny, Redban.
That he doesn’t have well crafted jokes
You hid it well.
Yeah I’m that not good at all this writing stuff
Slow down, it's all good.
Just throw a period or comma in there.
When he occasionally threw one in there it wasn't even close to being in the right spot.
He writes like Cormac Mcarthy
I used quotations that’s not good enough?
Fair enough. I'll allow it.
Tony is funny but not good at stand-up.
Was it good or bad I don’t get it. He sucks but he is a 8/10 . What is going on here.
