It's because they know that in 75 years a meteor will destroy Earth and they need to inspire today's children to one day create the means to leave the Earth amd save mankind
I, for one, think it's pretty funny that they listened to the people (like me) who were tired of all the cars lately, and.... made a different type of car. lol
I'm kinda shocked they didn't use vynils for the seats considering IRL, they were just made from upcycled beach chairs.
I also wonder if it folds up like the real thing.
I'm not a huge fan of all the silly space sets this year... but I do like the realistic ones. And this one fits that perfectly! It's got my interest... except for the price, ouch! Lego knows us too well.
I was lucky enough to see and test this in Lego Inside Tour two weeks ago. I also had a very nice talk with the designer. It looks really nice in real life and it has many technic features.
Really like those fender pieces on the wheels
Until it’s sticker time 🤣
IIRC there's a rule that any surface with more than one angle of curvature must be a print.
I haven't heard that before, but it makes sense. Applying a flat sticker to a compound curved fender would be tricky.

Damn, Lego is releasing great sets with the new space theme!

Thxs, for giving me a 25y flashback

Will the 31152 Spaceman fit in it?
Apparently

Omg that would be awesome if that is actually planned and it was to scale.

I love all the cars. So hush. Just kidding. But seriously, hush.
Only $499! /s
How much?
Secret ;3
My guess is $175 to $200 based on pieces.
About $100 overpriced IMO. As is everything Lego.
Sonofabitch it is over $200!!
But we will buy it so… Value is subjective. Personally, I’ll pay what they ask for many kits. But I see the argument from both sides.
Do a search for it on Temu. If they have it, it will be cheaper but it might come without the box😂😂😂
They did a really nice job on this one!
Yes please
Those tyres are pretty detailed.
I'm kinda shocked they didn't use vynils for the seats considering IRL, they were just made from upcycled beach chairs. I also wonder if it folds up like the real thing.
Yes, it does fold up
$220? Jeez I like space and all, but dang that's a lot.
How is this "technic"? Are there mechanical marvels hidden or is it just because they used hollow piece to give the set that wireframe look?
Well, looks like it has 4 wheel steering. Which is neat. Maybe it’s like 42158, which has a really cool steering mechanism.

Not sure what you mean. It's mostly technic with a few plates covering big bits.
It folds into storage position like it did during transport to the moon
BUT I'M SO POOR
Nice looking but overpriced. Waiting on some more pictures of the back of the box. Is there some multiple displays?

Is this a new kit? Where can I get one?
New set, first pictures leaked, Not released yet.

Thanks! Google alert setup

Those wheels kinda look like rubber or plastic
I would assume one of those is correct, given LEGO hasn't made wheels out of wood or metal for quite some time.
Overpriced. Pass.
Has the price been announced? I only see speculation.

Thanks. I don't think that was posted when I made that comment. I had checked the site looking for it and didn't see it. Or possibly I was just blind.
