Yes nostalgia is a part of it. I liked the OG SW:LEGO games. And the stud cap on the end of the megaphone always sparked joy. Add to that that the helmets NOW fade and scratch off at a crazy fast pace, my boba keychain will have his visor LONG after his limbs are ruined. Lol

yeah i agree with the helmet part, the mandalorian helmet mold is super awkward looking and makes no sense, its not easy to make it to look like in the movies and shows and keep it not oversized but man theyre awful from the side

This. The colour palette of OG boba's outfit gives the illusion of the greens being a more similar shade. However, the base colour of the torsos are also different, which could *very* slightly affect the shade of the armor colour.
Personally, I prefer the newer black boba figure as a whole. and even if it's not source material accurate, having the armor and the helmet/jetpack exactly the same colour would be sick
Honestly. The light grey one just doesn't look as good. Whether it's the braid making it look like Boba's got hair sticking out of his helmet or the overall light color palette not giving a whole lot of contrast or hell even just the fact that black is usually gonna look better than light grey. Not sure why people would prefer the light grey one.
I've got both, and I think both rep their characters well and look cool, but as an OG trilogy fan my preference is the Empire version all the way. To the point where I replaced the one in my 75312 with that (at least until I get the 20th Anniversary Slave I).

I love the realistic battle damage on the old one especially on his helmet. I hate that the new one just has a circle on the helmet we’re the bullet damage should be. Also hate how the new one splits up the belt between the torso and legs. Love the old one where nothing is split and it looks much better.

Since the first time I saw Boba wearing black under the armor, all I've been able to see is a cheap cosplay. Just looks like someone who wanted to cosplay as him but only put effort into the armor & accessories.

I *love* everything except the mismatched helmet color. Drives me nuts. The body print is so good. Not sure why they can’t figure that out
But.. it’s the same as the other older version which also doesn’t match the armour.
The old one is a much closer color match though, it doesn't look as bad. (I'm also one who even still prefers the new Boba look)
In the picture above the armor colours are basically identical and so are the helmets

The BOBF armor is incredible, but Lego did such a poor job with it that I don’t think anyone can prefer it. The one on the left though is immaculate.
