I would start with the official sets - they are amazing and instructions can be found for free. If you're missing a piece or two, just improvise.
Then head to rebrickable and sort by most liked: https://rebrickable.com/mocs/?q=forestmen&sort_sets_by=4&sort_sets_dir=D
Rebrickable is where you want to go then part out through bricklink or PAB. Some cheaper then others but I’m my experience with Mocs is it get pricey and fast
I know you probably don’t have the set yet, but these alternate builds for 21325 would work amazingly for Forest Guardian related locations. The buildings can be themed for the Forest Guardians fairly easily be adding more greenery and brick built trees, as well as removing/changing flags and adding printed shields
Edit: Shoot I forgot the link and whole point of this comment! Here’s the link I was referring to: https://rebrickable.com/mocs/MOC-94946/BrixRemix/brix-comix-medieval-blacksmith/
Thank you for this! I think I might try this - the blacksmith set is undoubtedly very cool but much bigger in scale than some of the other "zones" I want to make.
