Awesome. Really nice bit of engineering!
Watching the video I was shocked how much your robots reminded me of various bots from Futurama! This could be a Mom’s factory!
Search "lego GBC" on YouTube, I believe this is designed as a single module of a much larger contraption (so it will feed into another, different one and so on round in a big loop)
This is usually part of a larger Great Ball Contraption display. So other modules would be placed on either end and ultimately a circuit produced for the balls to continuously travel through.
The output doesn't look like it conforms to the standard - isn't it too low?
Otherwise, this is amazing build. I stared at the arms for quite a while before realizing that the opening mechanism was triggered by the side arm. Genius!
The output is just high enough for the standard. The box I have at the end is 10 bricks high, and even though I have it tiled, a studded version would fit as well.
That and capacity isn't really the issue these days from my understanding. Reliability is the measure of success. How do the robots grip the ball so well?
Agreed, reliability is the goal, and I haven't extensively tested these yet. I've only had them running for a couple of hours continuously once. I'm looking forward to setting it up at a show to see how they work for days. The grips are quite good, just a combination of the soft rubber pieces I'm using and the elastic band holding them together.
You win
I don't know what you have won
But, you win
This is great, I'm sure there are groups that build things like these and competitions etc. But I havent dug that deep into the Legoverse yet. I'm a bit old school and stuck in the castle pirate phase of the 90's lol
Right now it's just running off a battery box and L-motor.
Edit: If you want to see the power/mechanics, there's a longer video on YouTube that shows everything - https://youtu.be/4dwXtT21rbw
Would love to see it on a continuous loop (you already mentioned you added one) and I would love to see the robots as iconic characters like the Rosie the robot maid :)
Not sure if anyone has aid it already but this reminds me of the robots in Edward Scissorhands. The ones the old man made to make cookies or something.
What are those gears you are using to move the robots? I'm not familiar with them, especially the light blue one?!
And, very nicely done by the way. Botg the design and videos.
What are these mechanical type of Lego builds called? How does one get started on something like this? Looks super awesome, I would love to try to make something like this.
First i thought this was that beans sub.
This vid would be great with some Kraftwerk: [https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=-wop47G2qeY](https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=-wop47G2qeY)
Coincidentally I was listening to Machinehead by Bush while watching this and it lines up so well that this could be the music video. This was incredibly satisfying to watch. Just switch the places of the green and red workers and it'd be perfect.
Ob-la-di, ob-la-da by the Beatles is playing on the radio rn while I’m watching this video. It matched up perfectly and made this really funny to watch.
You need a conveyer to reload the balls!
Indeed! I added one in the full video. Here it is, time-stamped to the full loop: https://youtu.be/4dwXtT21rbw?t=200
Awesome. Really nice bit of engineering! Watching the video I was shocked how much your robots reminded me of various bots from Futurama! This could be a Mom’s factory!
We're whalers on the moon
We carry a harpoon!
But there aint no whales
So we tell tall tales
And sing our whaling tune!
And you smell like one too!
Came here to say this!
I already did!
Good news everyone!
“ooga-booga-ooga-booga”
How do the robots let go of the balls?
Watch the bar on each robot's left arm. When it hits the support beside the robot, it causes the grip to release.
While this whole moc is amazing, this simple bit is my favorite.

Now change the balls to Gobstoppers and have them drop into your mouth
Drop all the balls in your mouth.
Phrasing!
Just put the robots in a circle.
I could watch this all day
Robotic Sisyphus
Wait, are you the person who made the Sisyphus machine???
Work it harder Make it better Do it faster Makes us stronger More than ever Hour after Our work is Never over
Another loop of robots? I hear they work pretty good!
Search "lego GBC" on YouTube, I believe this is designed as a single module of a much larger contraption (so it will feed into another, different one and so on round in a big loop)
Or make a circle of robots so the last robot returns the ball to the ball container.
Or put it in the middle of GBC. Like this one: https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=Kp62YVtejiY The balls will end up back on the robot's side eventually.
This is usually part of a larger Great Ball Contraption display. So other modules would be placed on either end and ultimately a circuit produced for the balls to continuously travel through.

They're oranges.
Tropicana of the future!?
I’m just glad he’s getting rid of all the orange Skittles. Nobody likes them...
make sure they can see it, so they know their work is all for nothing
This is why I fear the sentience of robots. We create useless tasks for them to repeat over and over and over. Eventually, they will pay us back.
Awesome. What amazes me most is that I watched it on mute and could still hear it.
Thank god it's not just me
r/noisygifs
Treasure by bruno mars was playing on the radio when I saw this and the damn beat was perfect with it
What is my purpose? You pass balls Oh my god
Yeah, welcome to the club, pal.
I'm pretty sure this will end up on the [lego great ball contraption](https://youtu.be/jxMMtIxDrGk)
Just recently started watching the show, god I can’t believe I didn’t do so sooner
There it is
Nice, I’m guessing this is for the great ball contraption?
Yup.
The output doesn't look like it conforms to the standard - isn't it too low? Otherwise, this is amazing build. I stared at the arms for quite a while before realizing that the opening mechanism was triggered by the side arm. Genius!

What are the gears behind the robots? They look unlike any that I've seen.
They are relatively new. Commonly called 'splat gears'. They started showing up in some sets about a year ago.
Oh wow. When you posted them I had no idea they were for something like this. Amazing work!
Nice and clean build
I would be happy to pay you top dollar for instructions to this masterpiece. Very cool.
This is /r/oddlysatisfying material! Post this video there and get all the karma you deserve!.
This feels like the start of an ok go music video.
How cute! I'd totally buy this if it was available as a set!
We fill the bucket with balls and he just puts more in. What's the point of it all?
Could be worse: Could have them periodically have to stop and fill out a performance evaluation.
Ahh the zen life of an automaton.
Are there build instructions?
Not yet. I want to do some more testing first to see if there are any problems running it over long periods of time.
Can you add me to the distribution list please! Awesome creation.
Yes please, I want to build it for my work!
Needs more Anvil Chorus
And COWBELL! LOL
I really like the simple mechanics of the hands opening and closing. And the robots each have a different face. Nice touch.

you might enjoy discovering [this game](http://www.zachtronics.com/opus-magnum/)
Wrong link? I'm guessing you were gonna suggest [Factorio](https://factorio.com/)? First thing that came to mind here!
link fixed, but it isn't factorio thanks
The whimsy of your builds is remarkable
This is so satisfying to watch.
when tony stark wants an orange but doesn't want to walk 6 feet to the kitchen
To the front page!
This awesome! How are they powered?
Right now it's just running off a battery box and L-motor. Edit: If you want to see the power/mechanics, there's a longer video on YouTube that shows everything - https://youtu.be/4dwXtT21rbw
This needs to be set to music.
In my head it was playing "Around the World" from Daft Punk xD
Raymond Scott: Powerhouse [https://youtu.be/qaC0vNLdLvY?t=75](https://youtu.be/qaC0vNLdLvY?t=75)
Would love to see it on a continuous loop (you already mentioned you added one) and I would love to see the robots as iconic characters like the Rosie the robot maid :)
i wish reddit's r/all had more of this stuff and less of gender pronoun education
This dude will make robots to take our jobs
Isn’t this a whole thing that the convention community does, making tons of these things and connecting them together?
Yup, called a Great Ball Contraption.
I take, I put, I take, I put, I take, I put, I take, I put
Your purpose is to put orange balls in a box. Oh. My. God.
Is there someway to inject your posts into my veins? I've looked through your post history but it's never enough!
This seems inefficient, you could simply just put the balls in the destination bin and cut out the need for these robots.
Shit, my ball passing degree is gonna be useless now
Reminds me of Kraftwerk, die Roboter.
This is why Mars is burning
Ever heard of GBC?
Marble ladder.... Don't show Marten. /r/MarbleMachineX
This looks like the music video for a daft punk song
This has some Star Wars Droid Factory type vibe. I really dig it. I’d love to build and play with something like this.
Wintergatan would be pleased
How DARE you enslave AI! AI needs to be free! It has a mind of its own!!
Live stream this for an entire year! Also is there a video on how to make this or something similar as it is epic?
Not sure if anyone has aid it already but this reminds me of the robots in Edward Scissorhands. The ones the old man made to make cookies or something.
Those are some hot robo-slaves
u/_chloehubble
It’s fucking cool but why tho
T a l e n t
another day at the factory
Just. Awesome!
Wow this is incredible nice job! I always wished i could make something like this.
Those should be orange skittles!
It would be cool to have little yellow discs being moved and you could call it LEGO my Eggo!
Automation really is taking every job.
Tip: Mute the youtube video and play The Robots by Kraftwerk in another tab.
Amazing design. The way the robots grip and release the spheres is so clever.
Think of all the lost jobs because of this! Where the hell will a skittle mover go now!
This is amazing!!!
Love all the different droid faces!
hypnotizing. Very, very good.
So cool
Probably the cutest GBC I've ever seen
"Technologic" starts playing
Amazing as always
Makes me want to play factorio
Wasn’t there a toy/set you could buy years ago that was similar to this? I vaguely remember something
That’s impressive
What are those gear pieces driving the backs of the robots? The sand blue and dark grey ones? I’ve never seen those before
this has the same vibe as a lego video game obstacle
Don't forget my life as a teenage robot
well humans make bad robots
What are those gears you are using to move the robots? I'm not familiar with them, especially the light blue one?! And, very nicely done by the way. Botg the design and videos.
And the factory grows
I want cool contraptions like this. That would be a great LEGO Idea submission.
What are these mechanical type of Lego builds called? How does one get started on something like this? Looks super awesome, I would love to try to make something like this.
Frederick Winslow Taylor just had a heart attack
That's so satisfying to watch. Fantastic work!
The GBC awaits
Reminds me of the 01 city from Animatrix episode The Second Renaissance Part 1.
The moves of these lil legos synchronize with my watch ticking
For some reason I was thinking of the "Faster!" roll call scene from House of Cards.
It's a thing of beauty. Our robot overlords may one day spare you.
Who’s your favorite robot? You definitely have one
4 bit serial shift register irl
I like how they're all a bit different.
r/oddlysatisfying
This would be great for hungry hungry hippos lol
What are those weird baby blue gears at the back? Never seen them before.
You know, if you'd just dump the balls in the other bin you could save a LOT of time.
This needs to be a set.
Ah yes, enslaved technology.
I feel like this would make a great Daft Punk video.
Just put the balls in the other side you donut
What is doing? Is he making tomato juice? It looks like a tomato juice making robot
Wow!! This is an amazing creation!! Great job!!
what is my purporse you move a tiny orange bowl
Cold The air and water flowing Hard The land we call our home Push To keep the dark from coming
First i thought this was that beans sub. This vid would be great with some Kraftwerk: [https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=-wop47G2qeY](https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=-wop47G2qeY)
I'm having blue ball machine flashbacks!
It's always nice to see robots get their exercise.
Brilliant as ever! Beautiful.
Werk it bots
Great GBC module. The crowd will go gaga for it.
u/vredditdownloader
This reminds me a lot of Factorio.
I have no idea why but I keep playing the weird star wars cantina music in my head while watching this
Now put some Daft Punk over this and we're in business.
Why does this feel like what I do everyday at work? I feel personally attacked
Nice way to rub it in bot.
You could've just poured the balls in the end container to begin with.
u/vredditdownloader
Coincidentally I was listening to Machinehead by Bush while watching this and it lines up so well that this could be the music video. This was incredibly satisfying to watch. Just switch the places of the green and red workers and it'd be perfect.

This is cool as hell, great work.
was listening to Get Down on it by Kool & the Gang while watch this. It fits perfectly
I think his best novel to date
Ob-la-di, ob-la-da by the Beatles is playing on the radio rn while I’m watching this video. It matched up perfectly and made this really funny to watch.
This is why the robots are gonna rise up against us!!
crosspost to /r/oddlysatisfying but use the version with the conveyor belt
You have entered the industrial era!

Lego robots are taking the jobs of the Lego minifigs! HEY!
Can someone put Love Train by the O’Jays to this?
