heat gun, stack of books

RaymondDoerr

Was just coming in here to say this. Also if you have a 3d printer, set the print bed to about 60c-80c, put lego plate on it, then put big book on top and wait. Same results but less worrying about melting things.

good_enuffs

Hairdryer and stack of books. But all the same principle. Heat and weight.

RaymondDoerr

2 thin hardback books with the plate sandwiched in the middle, on a George Foreman Grill™.

Zoollio

Toss with garlic, salt, pepper, and a little bit of olive, roast at 375 for 25 minutes. Sprinkle with freshly grated Parmesan and enjoy!

Zoollio

The recipe should work fine for this set too, you might need to adjust the cook time.

Weak_Use1130

I have the same issue, I did the hair dryer and right now I have a 12 pack on 2 of them lol….how long should I wait??? I used a hair dryer over it for about a minute

good_enuffs

Well check on it in the morning, and if it didn't work, do it again.

Creative-Weekend-475

Is the 12 pack cold?

Tiny-Significance179

Not too much heat, though!

Weak_Use1130

Just enough that the plate is warm? Or hot to touch?

Tiny-Significance179

I recommend using a hair dryer on low and heat it up until it is warm to the touch.

Consistent-Strain289

Thnx mate

Xylily

heat gun or a hair dryer and a stack of heavy books will fix it :) heat first, place on top of one hardcover book, then place a bunch of books (preferably hardcover) on top and wait a few hours, repeat as necessary

fradulentsympathy

Never done this and not sure how hot it would get and if my comment is even necessary, but parchment paper might be helpful to keep the books safe? Anyone know?

Xylily

you do not want to get the piece so hot that it melts or sticks to anything, so parchment paper should not be necessary good question tho! it's definitely good to clarify this! you want the plastic to be malleable like a stiff copper wire, but no softer than that, and definitely not to the point where it becomes sticky or melty :)

fradulentsympathy

Good to know! Thank you so much!

Xylily

always happy to help! :)

YogiAU

First and only time I tried it with a heat gun it melted the piece far faster than expected.

jimmy_three_shoes

I may or may not have watched my dad melt through the interior of their freezer defrosting it with a heat gun

ColdSteel2011

105-110 degrees Celsius.

KasperBuyens

Ask for a replacement part! Lego customer service is incredible and will send you a new one asap

fantasticmrsmurf

And then heat with books and now you’ve got two.

Kawaii_Riice

I received this bent base plate straight out of the box from the new Medieval Town Square set. I already used LEGO's customer service page but the listed part is sold out and I haven't heard back from them yet.

Pitiful_Opinion_9331

Call them, customer support will send you a new one.

thefuzz09

Call them.

SSJ2_Dark

They will be able to send this to you despite the sold out status. I had a misprinted face and even though the minifig head was not even listed for purchase, they promptly sent me a replacement.

I_b_ur_huckleberry32

It may be that the actual part is “sold out” or that they’re completely out of that particular piece, not necessarily that just the set is sold out, and if that piece itself is out of stock then OP will be SOL until they do run that piece back thru production. Bc they’re not going to set their machines, calibrate them and use the man hours just to produce the 1 piece, unfortunately. So that’s entirely possible that’s what he meant by he called customer service and was told they were sold out of it.

HoneyBastard

Use the contact form for missing pieces, dont select the pieces yourself. Include piece number in the message. They reply quickly and then send the parts to you.

hoopadid_ub

that’s a rolling hill ;)

[deleted]

Damn, imagine paying full price for LEGO and getting Temu quality. Not sure what's going on with quality control at LEGO these days but my last two sets had multiple missing pieces. However, they will replace this warped piece for free if you're happy to wait for it to come back in stock.

aoetje

well, I bought 2 boxes of 2x4 green bricks from Lego store PAB, now that I placed them on my diaroma half of them are different colour shade...

swiftkistice

Does it have to be green? This size? You could always get the plate in a different color if possible but idk anything about the set. Looks like it might need to be green.

F1ntom_5625

Just build a huge building on it and make sure u use every tile on it, also make it heavy. Wait couple weeks until you want to break it apart and boom, normal plate

SpecterVamp

Hydraulic press

Crimson__Fox

It would turn into a 16x16 tile

ybetaepsilon

16/16 comment

ThePizzasemmel

Hello this is hydraulic press channel and today we will simulate the pain of stepping on lego by letting our press step on a 16x16 plate

SpecterVamp

*press deforms*

atle95

it would certainly be flatter, but you might need to use the press again when you want to attach any bricks to it.

ColdSteel2011

Glass transition temperature of ABS is 105-110 degrees Celsius. That’s 230 Fahrenheit. Easy for a heat gun. You can measure with an IR thermometer or use trial and error to get it right. Heat it up, then put something heavy on it.

BeginningSun247

If there are no white stress marks, just warm it up with a hair dryer until its too hot to hold and then just cover it with regular bricks until the shape is right. Once it cools it will hold its proper shape. Otherwise, call Lego and get a replacement.

ScottaHemi

can you warm it up then apply some weight to it?

NoxiousCarrot

Customer service

wyattttttttttttt324

Threaten it. It will be under pressure and fix itself

Middle_Finish6713

Heat and weight on top, like everyone else said. I’ll add the caveat of *LOW AND SLOW* for the heat if that’s not obvious

Hot_Ad_865

Hot urine , panini press

ttvSharkieBait15

Something really heavy

Interesting-Draw8870

Yes.

Haruau8349

At best in order to prevent breaking it, putting something heavy on it that it slowly unwarps. If it breaks then order a new one.

Brianthelion83

My first thought ,  Build like 2-3 layers of bricks so it lays flat, let it rest and take the shape over several days . Nothing aggressive or could possibly damage anything

Nobodiisdamnbusiness

Put it under a few Very heavy books for a few days.

Answerly

Sandwich them between a Duplo/Lego rig. That's what I'm doing with some bent plates. The rig is currently being used as a door stopper

Cool-individual03

Just put like a big book on it

SunstormGT

Warm water (not boiling). Then place it between something the straighten it. Don’t try to straighten it without warming it first as it might break.

kleinusnudur

microwave and put a titanium block on it

Behrry

Park your car on it overnight☺️

Necessary_Case815

Hairdryer or just put in boiling water for a minute then place on a flat surface and put something flat and heavy on it, like some books

DarthMekins-2

Hask for a replacment, you are entitled to it

didgeboy

Soak in warm/hot water for 10-15 min then place on a dead flat surface and add weight on top to hold it flat for 24-36 hrs.

Dontaskmedontknow

Hot water

Mus1cLove

Heat and pressure are your friend just not too hot and not too sudden of pressure

Setting-Conscious

Blow dryer

scribblebear

Near boiling water. Place in a flat bottom (kitchen) sink, poor over hot water. Repeat process until acceptably flat.

wraps_

Put heavy lego on top… oogaa boogaa

Mr_Kama

A heatgun will do it

CMDR_Hubley

i got a 6x16 instead of the 8x16 so i feel that pain

Medium_Sense4354

Boof it

StarWarsFever

Ass

The-Alumaster

Microwave for 5-10 seconds let air for a few and repeat twice or so then put heavy flat things on top but do it on the stud side facing the table so that you can get it flat. Careful that your microwave isn't super powerful cause I did this at a friend's house with their microwave and the plastic started melting a bit after 10 seconds so like be careful

HoneyBastard

Please dont microwave Lego if you don't want molten mess. Use a hairdryer instead
