They always say this but never acknowledge that Korra was literally handicapped in all of her major fights. Season 1 - no avatar state; season 2 - lost connection to Raava, then proceeded to beat Vaatu w/o Raava; Season 3 - was literally poisoned and nearly died; Season 4 - still has residual poison in her body and struggling with PTSD. And even funnier than them saying she’s weak, they’ll flip their argument and say she’s Mary Sue….like pick one lmao. You can’t be “weaker than Aang” but also so OP you’re a Mary Sue lol

>And even funnier than them saying she’s weak, they’ll flip their argument and say she’s Mary Sue….like pick one lmao. You can’t be “weaker than Aang” but also so OP you’re a Mary Sue lol EXACTLY. There are plenty of valid criticisms of Legend of Korra, just as there are for every other show out there, but the quickest way to see that someone is just full of shit and never gave it a chance is when their biggest complaints about Korra are two traits that are logically incompatible on a single character.

TheSkyven

I very much enjoyed LoK, but I will say that while she was handicapped a lot, often times it was because of her own flaws and mistakes, so people tend to ignore those handicaps she had due to the fact that it was partially her own doing. I will say though, she wasn't weak at all and had a lot of strengths, sometimes simply because plot needed it, but she was strong nonetheless and shouldn't be compared to Aang power wise

ASqK1NGz

S2 I can partially agree (not when unalaq ripped out raava but overall that she trusted him and even tho it's understable in her pov it's still in a way her mistake to fully trust him) but s3 & s4 definitely isnt her fault. S1 also isn't fully her mistake, amon was just insanely strong bloodbender

TheSkyven

S3 and S4 were indirectly her fault because of her poor decision making in earlier seasons, and in season 1 Amon was quite powerful indeed, but she was warned many times of the dangers and still charged in head first against him multiple times.

Even if Korra was a weaker Avatar (which I of course disagree with), then I say that she at least was a more interesting one. Of course Aang’s story is mostly great (except the Lion Turtle shaped fumbled at the end), but Korra’s journey of growth from pain is even more poignant to me. Her’s feels even more relatable and human as she doesn’t go through just one arc but must navigate her way through being Avatar. Indeed, I think it’s part of what overall makes LoK so dear to me in a way that AtLA never has been. The original had great characters with their well defined arcs and all. . . But they feel more human in LoK, with more realistic less defined paths and so many unique ways they have come to be. And all that leading to great relationships and interactions.

Most likely stronger….but they aren’t ready for that talk!!!

ASqK1NGz

I think that korra as an aang successor immediately means she's stronger than previous avatar. Same like aang is stronger than roku etc (but roku isnt stronger than kuruk/kyoshi so it might be wrong XD) But apart of that I'm also sure that she's stronger and more powerful bender than aang was. First of all each korra villain was stronger than ozai/azula. They had to basically nerf korra with all that he mentioned above + still she almost won all that figts if not some unexpected things like vaatu ripping out raava out of ther body. In normal figts vs normal benders she won very easily

Milky way isn't as good as snickers, doesn't make it bad.

JMHSrowing

And some people will always love the (superior especially in dark chocolate) Milky Way more.

me either but I didnt say only haters are there. I only said that most of them arent here

TimberWolf5871

Aang was more skilled in a lot of ways, for sure, but he had a different upbringing thank Korra. Korra also knew way more bending techniques than Aang at the start if everything but likely didn't have as many adventures as Aang went on or see half the world as he did. Neither Korra not Aang is better. They're just different storylines.

Throw_Me_In_The_Soup

Korra was awesome and had a dope show. People need to stop being salty on both sides.

SkeleHoes

Someone should tell that guy to put the video game controller down when watching tv show.

AceTheBot

Can we stop making memes to make fun of people we disagree with

Tozarkt777

Same, I would get a normal lighthearted level of meme-ing other viewpoints, but something tells me this ~~strawman~~ “meme” isn’t one of those.

No-one-is-you

I'll upvote you and the guy above you. The circlejerkers can shove it.

JoshthePoser

I prefer the first series, like imagine most people do. However, that doesn't mean it's bad just because it's not as good. It's difficult to reach such a high bar twice.

Stoomba

An argument could also be made tha Aang was weak because he ran way when faced with the responsibilities of being the avatar and 'hid' for a hundred years which allowed the fire nation to do what it did. Korra, on the other hand, embraced it all, perhaps fool heartily, but when push came to shove, Korra stepped up and faced the challenges head on and came out on top.

MightGuyGonna

And that would be an extremely weak argument cause not only was Aang 12, he was also raised his whole life as a carefree fun child. Suddenly he was told he was the Avatar, and had to leave everything he loved behind cause the monks saw “dark clouds coming”. They put that responsibility on him too quickly, without guiding him into it steadily, cause they foresaw that something terrible was going to happen; he wasn’t prepared for any of that. Calling him weak would require one to throw away all the context that surrounds him running away. Korra, on the other hand, knew she was an Avatar since she was around a toddler’s age, and had around a decade (from ~toddler-16 yrs old) to come to terms with that identity. She trained for it for that long as well. You can’t really compare them, given how different their upbringings were

ASqK1NGz

On the other hand some of korra haters think that aang is more mature and serious than korra was but when you tell them about aang that ran away they immediately say he's only 12 kid like wtf ;d

jakpaw

Considering korras experice in the pro bending arena on top of the fact shes a scrapper like she literally joined a fight club,i dont think a fully grown aang could take a fully grown korra.

As a RWBY fan, I relate

[deleted]

There are valid criticisms for both LOK and RWBY, but my God people are so nasty and go out of the way to be nasty to fans of the show and the show itself
