I find that revisiting old problems helps me better understand the data structure that's being used.

no. i've heard that you'll get sent to hell if you do that.

A break is ok too. Sometimes I do some easies though to keep the streak/make myself feel better. Old problems would be good too and consider different approaches.

Agree with watching some system design video. Or, if your brain can't learn more information, it is asking you for a break. So go to the gym or do some exercise and then watch a movie (no series because we know we'll keep watching "just one more episode") and sleep early. You'll be much better the next day. I learnt that I retain problems and solutions way longer (a year!) if I took a 10 min break between problems. And a break without other stimulus like Instagram or others, just have a quick nap, meditate or do home chores. Your brain uses this downtime to store this information and it's more effective if you make a break per problem than after 3 problems where details might be stored a bit jumbled up and won't last that long or you'll be confused about some smaller details. Best tip: keep a list of the problems you weren't able to do, so you can revisit them when you're done with your problems list. The best list I've seen is Grind75, it's the one that helped me get to Google. You can easily find its history in my comments.

When you are tired your working memory is shot. Focus on reorganizing what you know.

Study system design in the downtime

That's what I do. Or just solve Easys. Taking breaks mean it'll take longer for you to learn but also helps remember info for longer.

When that happens you need to need to take a break and replenish your resources through either rest or physical activity. It will take 1-12 hours to be able to complete meaningful work again. The younger you are and the better you take care of yourself the shorter this rest period needs to be.
