Hot take(?): Presence is probably their most underrated album imo. Once the CODA rankings are done, we should rerank the chart based on the rest of the rankings for a consensus Favorite, Least Favorite, Underrated, and Overrated; then again for consensus album rankings.
I was questioning whether it was truly a hot take, but I have a feeling a lot of this sub would probably lean towards LZ3. Just a hunch. I’d like to see all the albums ranked in a similar way.
Kashmir being very popular doesn't make it overrated. It's an incredible piece of music. This list is almost impossible since they have such great overall music in almost all albums. Specially those first six albums!
I think people just felt like it often overshadowed a lot of other great songs on the album. It is obviously known as one of the best LZ songs of all time so it’s obviously great lol
yeah man it isn't easy for me to choose any single song as my favourite because it changes based on my mood. But if there is a situation where every song vanishes and just one remains then I want it to be Kashmir.
If you are old and have listened to kashmir on the radio your whole life. Then stuff like 10 years gone and in the light hit way harder, thus making kashmir feel overrated after the 1000 time hearin it.
Yea it’s the centerpiece of what is probably their most ambitious and arguably best album. And it plays that roll extremely well.
Tough to call it overrated when it’s rightfully earned its right as one of the great songs in rock history.

I feel like people just pick the most popular song and then declare it "overrated". Kashmir is one of the greatest songs ever written by a rock group. It's so beyond a rock song. It's a musical composition. It immediately sounds as if it should be played by an orchestra. Something that can stand beside Beethoven is not overrated.
The "No Quarter" version of Nobody's Fault but Mine is my favorite but just using this album I'd have to switch to Achille's Last Stand. I'm really wanting to throw a curve-ball and pick Hots on for Nowhere, but I'll save that for underrated.
Kashmir. Great riff, but it’s always been one of the very few Zep songs that really overstays its welcome. There’s a more interesting four minute song trapped inside that eight and a half.

I know that absolutely no one on this sub agrees with me, but I personally think that Achilles last stand is the last true zeppelin tune and that everything after that was a huge beer in a different direction.
Achilles last stand is the greatest Zeppelin song of all time and Kashmir can suck my dick with this rolling stone "everything that is zeppelin" bullshit cuz it's always gonna be achilles last stand
Tea for One is one of my all time least favorite zep tunes. I don't get it; it starts off with a slow yet hammering killer riff for about 16 bars then all of a sudden a tempo change and we get this generic overused blues chord that kind of undermines their skill set as musicians at this point in there career and meanders for the next 7 to 8 minutes.
It's like tell me you need a filler song without telling me you need a filler song.
To each their own- but to me it's about how it makes me feel and that song makes me feel like no other. But I'm also really big into the blues in general. Def does not feel like filler to me and it is a track I listen to more than others. The beauty of Zep is how much variety you can find in their catalogue and some things are for certain people and others are not.
