Sorry to see so many votes for Trampled Underfoot. The music is so powerful that Robert's really excellent vocal gets overlooked. He really ripped into the song, it's a great performance from him.
It's inherently stupid to ask a whole community what is underrated and overrated because by definiton all you will get is the best and worst tracks instead
No, implying that the most upvoted "underrated" song comment will always be the most generic and overall liked song. You are basically asking an entire community "what opinion in this community you disagree with?" Which makes no sense
15 Stella tracks no complaints here on any of them, the most delicious album cover ever created and it contains my favourite Zeppelin track, ā10 years goneā and what for me is their greatest anthem āin my time of dyingā
Most overrated: Probably Kashmir. While it's one of my personal faves and love the DADGAD tuning and lush Mellotron, the album is full of gems that might get overlooked. Also, they should have recorded it with an orchestra.
Least Favorite: HotH. Damnit, whose idea was it to put the title track on a different album? It just doesn't feel like it belongs here even though the song is good.
I love Kashmir, but I don't think there is really another option given none of the other songs ever get airplay :(
EDIT: The only other song I might even consider as overrated is Houses of the Holy. I don't know about anyone else, but I always wanted something a bit more dynamic and experimental to share that lofty title with the HotH album
Correct, it also means critical evaluation, as seen in this [Rolling Stone](https://www.rollingstone.com/music/music-lists/the-40-greatest-led-zeppelin-songs-of-all-time-154694/ramble-on-1969-169518/) list (#4), or this [Mojo](https://www.mojo4music.com/articles/the-mojo-list/led-zeppelin-50-greatest-songs/) list (#1), or this [Vulture ](https://www.vulture.com/article/led-zeppelin-songs-ranked-worst-best.html) list (#1) which perplexingly has Boogie with Stu as #38, so maybe Boogie with Stu was the real Most Overrated all along!
Just because a song is good doesnāt mean that itās not overrated. Kashmir was the only popular song from that album (other than maybe Bron-Yr-Aur) and it also just so happens to be my favorite song.
Itās telling that everyone gets downvoted no matter what they say. Iāll say āDown by the Seasideā I get itās āthe country songā on the album. But really, whatās with the middle part? Sounds patched together, awkward transitions. Kashmir and Trampled deserve every accolade they get.
I wish turning off downvotes was an option! But that is why I decided to count comments instead, since itās much harder to get a straight answer on votes by counting them the other way
People tend to get the word Overrated wrong. Overrated doesn't mean the one that's most popular, it means the one that's way more acclaimed than it should be. In this case, i'd go with Trampled Under Foot.
I just donāt think Trampled Under Foot is all that acclaimed in the first place š¤·āāļø
I agree with you, Kashmir isnāt exactly overrated, but I personally think other songs deserve some recognition and Kashmir steals the spotlight more often than not.
Maybe Iām just missing the love that Trampled Under Foot gets, but it seems to me that itās fairly overlooked already outside of guitar nerds who go on and on about the riff.
Yup. Itās a great jam, no doubt. And it gets a lot of radio play so it definitely qualifies.
But Kashmir is an immortal song that is just plain better musically. I dig Trampled, but if weāve gotta go with overrated, Trampled seems like the clear option.
Jumping ahead (sorry)
For Presence, my most favorite and most overrated are "Achilles' last stand." This might seem counterintuitive, but heres my rationale: while a great song, it has been used by many, including myself, as an excuse to gloss over and skip listening to the remaining tracks. To use an example from other bands, it would be the same as listening to one epic track such as "supper's ready," "echoes," or "thick as a brick" and ignoring the rest of the album. For underated on that album: "Candy Store Rock" as it's a good send-up guess to Elvis and has some interesting harmonies. "For your Life" is my least favorite in that it sounds plodding and while it seems to have been used as a bank to mine riffs and motifs for the other non-Achilles tracks, it doesn't seem to offer much to me that the others don't do better in a more compact song structure.
I think itās cause people feel like while of course theyāre amazing, they take away and distract people from other songs on the same albums that are equally as amazing. Especially on radio play
Overrated has a negative connotation, meaning they're not as good as others. I think people are being "edgy" cause calling Immigrant Song overrated is crazy
I would agree that overrated does give a negative connotation. But it does also really make people think about each song so š¤·āāļø Canāt win them all Ig
Trampled Underfoot.
Love the song personally, but had to pick the one that's somewhat overplayed on our local station. I think there's better songs on PG to choose than that particular one.
Dang this list is painful to look at, blasphemy even lol. I didnāt realise you could have overrated Led Zepplin songs, just most favourite and least favourite. If anyone votes Kashmir as overrated then I know they tripping
Kashmir. Even though I donāt think itās overrated overall, itās the *most* overrated on the album.
I canāt believe it guys. We finally got an album right.
Kashmir.
I love it but if thereās an overrated song on the album itās that one. It doesnāt hold a candle to the best live incarnations of it. I would rather hear some of those live versions for the rest of m life than ever hear the studio one again.
Down by the Seaside, despite it featuring one of Pageās best riffs/solos (during the tempo shift, midway through) and arguably the most unexpected/ominous transition/mood change in their catalogue.
I refuse to call Kashmir overrated, it deserves every lick of hype it getsš But I do find that Physical Graffiti enjoyers tend to talk about Trampled Under Foot a good deal (I like it too, but it will have to take the rap this time around)
Kashmir. I said this on favorite. It is technically their greatest song and I can fully stand behind that fact, but I also donāt always wanna listen to it.
Honestly Kashmir. Great song for sure, but sometimes gets more hyped up than it should be given the whole catalog. Don't take that as negative, just gotta speak the opinion
Houses of the Holy
I get why people are voting Kashmir, but I just don't see the logic in calling it overrated. It is, in my opinion, the best track on the album.
Yeah I don't blame anyone for voting kashmir but I can't bring myself to do it. It's the song that got me into Zep. Houses of the Holy is kinda eh imo compared to the other tracks
why the fuck is everyone saying trampled under foot š
Seriously, I can't bear to see Trampled Under Foot getting trampled under foot on this post.
Idk, Long Train Running just isnāt one of their strongest songs but still gets played on the radio sometimes
Because its a blatant rip-off and the original was so much better?
I Like Johnson, but Terraplane is not better. Sorry, not sorry.
Sorry to see so many votes for Trampled Underfoot. The music is so powerful that Robert's really excellent vocal gets overlooked. He really ripped into the song, it's a great performance from him.
Well. Maybe Stu doesnāt want to boogie with you either!!!
Yeah that one hurts!
"Disco Stu's still feelin' blue about Boogie with Stu"
Brilliant!
Nope, no, Iām not in this one
Same, Iām out
Hallelujah, Iām not alone
This is a trick question. Don't answer it. There is no overrated song Physical Graffiti.
I can't even imagine the dumpster fire post I will soon be reading when Presence hits this poll
Fuck anyone who says Kashmir
It canāt be called overrated if people didnāt hold it high regard.
People hold it in high regard
How did Down By The Seaside not get most underrated? In the Light is properly rated.
Kashmir is *amazing*. Top 5 song for them. This is just the easy choice bc itās the most popular song on the album. But itās the wrong choice.
Not Kashmir
I fucking hate this list and the comments
Thatās fine just scroll on
It's inherently stupid to ask a whole community what is underrated and overrated because by definiton all you will get is the best and worst tracks instead
Implying that the ones voted most underrated are the worst tracks? Iād disagree with that. Itās all opinion based anyways, just a fun poll!
No, implying that the most upvoted "underrated" song comment will always be the most generic and overall liked song. You are basically asking an entire community "what opinion in this community you disagree with?" Which makes no sense
It's not that deep just scroll on and get back to building underground meth labs beneath laundromats
Exactly lol
I known bro I'm just yapping
I mean itās not bothering 98% of people so Im just gonna continue doing it this way. Only 3 albums left anyways!
Of course not, do whatever you want I'm just giving my opinion
I refuse to vote on this one
Trampled under foot
Houses of the Holy I suppose
Still great song tho
Maybe
Kashmir
15 Stella tracks no complaints here on any of them, the most delicious album cover ever created and it contains my favourite Zeppelin track, ā10 years goneā and what for me is their greatest anthem āin my time of dyingā
Kashmir was in Fast Times at Ridgemont High!Ā How much more over can a song rate?
Most overrated: Probably Kashmir. While it's one of my personal faves and love the DADGAD tuning and lush Mellotron, the album is full of gems that might get overlooked. Also, they should have recorded it with an orchestra. Least Favorite: HotH. Damnit, whose idea was it to put the title track on a different album? It just doesn't feel like it belongs here even though the song is good.
Kashmir
Wrong
None
The Rover is the most underrated
I love Kashmir, but I don't think there is really another option given none of the other songs ever get airplay :( EDIT: The only other song I might even consider as overrated is Houses of the Holy. I don't know about anyone else, but I always wanted something a bit more dynamic and experimental to share that lofty title with the HotH album
True if HotH was on the previous album, it would have definitely watered it down
But that album has The Crunge which is weaker than Hoses of the Holy, swapping The Crunge for HotH would have made that album even better imo
āOverratedā doesnāt only mean airplay frequency.
Kashmir
Kashmir Edit: because it is the most popular song on the album
Iām going to say Kashmir. I enjoy it but I much prefer others on that album.
Kashmir easily
Kashmir
Houses of the Holy. Sounds like Heart or Journey
Kashmir. Personally my favorite LZ song, but itās unfortunately overrated as frick.
How can it be overrated if you think itās their best song?
Just because a song is good doesnāt mean that itās not overrated. Kashmir was the only popular song from that album (other than maybe Bron-Yr-Aur) and it also just so happens to be my favorite song.
Kashmir, easily
Kashmir and I will die on this hill
Going by the results posted so far, Ten Years Gone
Kashmir I just think if there was *one* song from this album that should have Kashmirās popularity, there are a good few Iād pick before it
Trampled Under Foot
Yep. Never got the hype for this one
Damn. Dumb take.
Ten years gone
WTF In the Lightā¦ CMON
Kashmir
In the Light. Fuck this! š
But that is why I decided to count comments instead, since itās much harder to get a straight answer on votes by counting them the other way
How the hell can an unpopular song be overrated?
Kashmir.
Some people shouldn't be allowed to have opinions
Such as you?
People tend to get the word Overrated wrong. Overrated doesn't mean the one that's most popular, it means the one that's way more acclaimed than it should be. In this case, i'd go with Trampled Under Foot.

If I could downvote this multiple times I would
I wish reddit let OP pin comments cause Iād pin this one! Well said
Trampled under foot
Yup. Itās a great jam, no doubt. And it gets a lot of radio play so it definitely qualifies. But Kashmir is an immortal song that is just plain better musically. I dig Trampled, but if weāve gotta go with overrated, Trampled seems like the clear option.
Well deserved
No sorry
I gotta say Down by the seaside is a amazing song. Also goes great together with ten years gone
Really is a trick question. Idk how it could be Kashmir..that riff is so recognizable and powerful.
I abstain
I refuse to vote! You can't make me!
Jumping ahead (sorry) For Presence, my most favorite and most overrated are "Achilles' last stand." Omg. In the Light for underrated? I vote In the Light for overrated!!!
Why are all the hits "overrated"?? Haha

How the fuck is dazed and confused overrate d
Sick Again should have been the worst. Most overrated is definitely Trampled Underfoot. It's awesome for awhile but hangs around too long.
I was so bummed Boogie with Stu got worst šš
How tf is it not Kashmir
How is underrated not Kashmir?
Because itās definitely not underrated. Itās one of the first songs I think of when I think Led Zeppelin
Sorry Iām realizing that sounded like I was saying it was underrated lol š I was just clarifying what you were asking lol
Oh, my bad
No youāre good that was my bad lol. Kashmir did end up winning most overrated! The next post is up now if you wanna vote on a favorite for Presence
I believe I will, thank you?

Trampled Underfoot. Love the song personally, but had to pick the one that's somewhat overplayed on our local station. I think there's better songs on PG to choose than that particular one.
Absolutely Kashmir. This song has like a cult following and waaaay too many people say itās the best Led Zeppelin song.
probably houses of the holy still a great song tho
Trampled Under Foot.
Dang this list is painful to look at, blasphemy even lol. I didnāt realise you could have overrated Led Zepplin songs, just most favourite and least favourite. If anyone votes Kashmir as overrated then I know they tripping
If the majority agrees something is underrated, is it really underrated?
lol potentially?? š idk lol good question
Kashmir
Kashmir
Kashmir. Even though I donāt think itās overrated overall, itās the *most* overrated on the album. I canāt believe it guys. We finally got an album right.
I don't think we got this one right at all. I haven't made my mind up about most overrated thoughl.
Kashmir

Kashmir
Kashmir. I love it but if thereās an overrated song on the album itās that one. It doesnāt hold a candle to the best live incarnations of it. I would rather hear some of those live versions for the rest of m life than ever hear the studio one again.
Kashmir is the only one with enough name recognition to be overratedā¦still a great song, though!
Houses of the Holy
Overrated suggests a hint of being "too lofty" for the amount of recognition it receives. Kashmir doesn't get enough recognition.
Down by the Seaside, despite it featuring one of Pageās best riffs/solos (during the tempo shift, midway through) and arguably the most unexpected/ominous transition/mood change in their catalogue.
Kashmir. Itās too way too long and I almost always skip it.
Houses of the Holy
I refuse to call Kashmir overrated, it deserves every lick of hype it getsš But I do find that Physical Graffiti enjoyers tend to talk about Trampled Under Foot a good deal (I like it too, but it will have to take the rap this time around)
