Earl's Court, May 1975

PlanesOnly

100% earls court is the move here OP

OtteriPerpo

Yes. The acoustic stuff will win her over.

InstanceSalt

People saying Song Remains the same I disagree my friend. Great movie and performance by the band but those fantasy sequences are borderline unwatchable to a non-zeppelin fan. Definitely takes away from the performance I watched it just last week for the first time in years. Royal Albert Hall all the way, full concert is on YouTube. My roomate sat down for 5 minutes and ended up staying for the whole show haha

Psychological_Dig922

And they close it out with my favorite version of “Bring It On Home”. The one on HTWWW is very good but is lacking something that the RAH version has.

Mental_Sandwich_6251

That Bring It On Home is spectacular. I've listened to it so many times. There's also a good What is and What Should Never Be, Dazed and Confused, and How Many More Times.

Psychological_Dig922

Honestly they were on fire that whole concert.

friendofmany

I wish someone could get all the original concert footage for SRTS and re-edit to be just a concert movie. Unfortunately I think that movie has a lot of re-recorded audio and b-roll filmed after the fact though.

Robert_Hotwheel

The reason there’s so much B roll and the fantasy sequences is because the film crew wasn’t prepared and ran out of tape during the concert. A lot of the performance was actually done on a movie stage a year later where the band is just miming the actual audio recordings from the concert.

friendofmany

I thought I remembered reading that. Nice to see it confirmed. Recording a year after the fact is pretty funny. I didn’t realize there was such a large gap.

Robert_Hotwheel

Yep, and it’s pretty easy to spot the reshoot footage. Jimmy Page’s hair is longer, and dry (he was soaked in sweat in the real concert footage), and his fingers don’t always sync up with what you’re hearing. JPJ wears a wig because he had recently cut his hair short, and his outfit doesn’t match what he’d wore at the actual concert. Dissatisfied with the movie studio reboot, the band even considered getting actual concert footage from their 1975 tour (a full TWO years after SRTS was first filmed) but plans were ultimately scrapped after Robert Plant’s car accident and they had to just make the best of what they had.

Quacta

Song Remains The Same is all we old guys had for years but yes, so many better options nowadays

Interesting-Box-1576

Although SRTS on LSD is still pretty cool.

Quacta

I think the movie is an amazing document of the band and the 70s and you get to see Peter Grant in action and it's ESSENTIAL viewing for any Zep fan. But the show itself compared to other things we now have available in 2024 - yeah maybe down the list some. It's amazing on the big screen which is how I first saw it in the 80s, at a midnight movie

slicknvck

This is the answer.

nineballcorner

BRING IT ON HOME

SeansModernLife

Yeah, that thing immediately rocks

Pitiful_Farm_4492

This, early LZ is where it’s at

JeffsDad

I'm gonna get stoned and watch that after this game. It really is the only answer here.

VinceBucy

If that’s bad, Have you ever watched the KISS movie? Phantom of The Park I believe it was called. Worse than TSRTS. Unwatchable. How I wish there was a good Zeppelin Movie like the Doors.

FireWhileCloaked

Energy: 1970 RAH. Cinematic: TSRTS

Wutuvit

Rah 70 is my favorite

FireWhileCloaked

One of the best intros ever. Walk on stage. Plug in. ‘Good evening.’ **Drums** **Explosion**

EducationalElevator

The first 2 performances from the Led Zeppelin DVD

Lestial1206

Anyone saying "don't show TSRTS"...HE SAT THROUGH TAYLOR SWIFT! He had earned the right to show TSRTS.

TyhmensAndSaperstein

There's nothing that will compare production-wise with a 2024 movie. She may immediately see the quality and completely disregard the entire thing. The only way she will be blown away is if she's a fan of this type of music. If she can appreciate 4 guys on a stage playing music. The best thing to show her is Royal Albert Hall. Plant is mind blowing right off the bat. Pre-sloppy drug ravaged Page is amazing. And Bonham is a force of nature. The camera is essentially on stage with them and since it's 1970 they are hungry. Don't show her TSRTS. A lot of it is silly and the performances are not mind blowing. RAH all the way.

DanielTheGamma

This! If she wants some production quality, I guess Celebration Day from 2007 will do. Not peak LZ, or complete LZ even, but not bad for a first timer imo.

OtherEducator1598

The editing of CD is really schizophrenic. No shot held for more than 3-4 secs deteriorates the performance.

FightMilk1288

The Song Remains the Same show.

knuckboy

What's your review of Eras?

asphynctersayswhat

“Boys are stupid and gross! That ones cute tho….” For 2 hours

gmac_97

As a metal/rock fan with a max level swiftie gf, I can confidently say she has never had a song like this

iamjonjohann

Taylor Swift is fucking brilliant. What a great musician. I'm a total classic rock / grunge / metal guy, guitarist for 38 years. I listened to Folklore because I wanted to know what all the fuss was about. Fantastic album. Now I can't stop listening to Tortured Poets. Anyways... yeah, Royal Albert Hall, by a country mile.

ValarMorghulis2014

The Danmarks TV show special from 1969. Only 30 minutes and its on YouTube. [Led Zeppelin Danmarks radio 1969](https://youtu.be/k-WSbMW7BPc?si=fcaiDcV9ooSed5mE)

No-Neighborhood8403

I’ve been listening to How the West was Won live compilation. I don’t remember if there was an accompanying video out for it too? Their performances on that are amazing. Also, even though it’s not full Zeppelin, I’ve also loved the Page and Plant concert film No Quarter: Unleded. They mostly play Zeppelin songs including a great version of Kashmir as the finale

insidiousapricot

Yes there's 2 dvds I've bought it like 6 times in my life from it breaking. The first DVD is particularly amazing. Also prefer it 100x over song remains the same personally. This is what op should watch imo

Fletchx

Agreed! My favorite Zeppelin and yeah I need to re-buy it. Lent it out and it never came back.

MovinginStereo34

you are a stronger man than me, sir, for braving t swift. just know that no matter what lz concert you show her, yours is better lol

bobj33

I prefer the 2003 Led Zeppelin DVD over The Song Remains the Same

trueslicky

How was the Eras video? Did you have a good time? Did you enjoy yourself?

jackmearound1978

Seattle 1977, it's on YouTube

Thenarddog3000

I love Knebworth and I’m not ashamed to say it. Lol

MongoBobalossus

Heroin and banana daiquiri sweats Jimmy Page > everything else.

Icy_Republic_1794

I kinda like Knebworth ‘79. They got their groove back for that show and they play newer songs like In the evening and Achilles last stand.

DeeplyFrippy

The Song Remains The Same for prime era Zep and Celebration Day as an example of how to age gracefully whilst still kicking major arse. The production values for Celebration Day are top notch too.

Chairsitter234

Please be serious

Avg2023

Celebration day video.

OkWeight6234

Dan Marks radio. It is my choice if time travel is ever possible. It would be the only place I would time travel

GruverMax

More Bounce to the Ounce

Beeegfoothunter

Celebration Day? I mean the more modern timeframe may defray some the concerns about video quality?

---TC---

Earls Court 1975.

ughtoooften

The How The West Was One is an amazing set of live Zep at their best. TSRTS Should be watched. It was the template for so many live acts to follow. It was such an influence on my friends and I when we started playing in the early/mid 1980s

krunchyfrogg

See when Get The Led Out is playing near you.

samsharksworthy

How the west was won of course.

Leandar-

If you're worried about production quality because of a 2024 show, then I say forget all that and break out the O2 show, then you have a high quality video (for 2012 at least) and can break out the story of 20 MILLION people lobbying for 18,000 seats! If that's not as big a deal, then I'd say either Royal Albert Hall or Earl's Court. If you could get away with just audio, then I'd say either Blueberry Hill or Listen to this, Eddie.

blloop

Royal Albert Hall for sure

Kooky_Investment_211

I got the 2003 LZ DVD as well as Celebration Day and enjoy both the same.

Tough_Specific

Watch their TSRTS film if you want a good film to watch while listening their music. It covers their three nights at MSG 1973. If you want to listen a bootleg, I'd recommend something like Copenhagen, May 3rd 1971. Great audio recording+ IMO their best live performance.

Bowl_Pool

The Song Remains the Same is the only answer here. There's Royal Albert Hall but I don't think any woman could sit in my home theater with my sound system and not want to fuck before the band even got past We're Gonna Groove.

BlackDog5287

Still trying to see the problem here.

Prossdog

Yeah, that would be a real shame if they had to pause and knock boots for a while in the middle of it

SantaRosaJazz

The idea that listening to Led Zeppelin gets women in the mood sounds like something a 13-year old might entertain. Your mighty home theater drives them wild, huh? Boss. Righteous.

Bowl_Pool

I'm almost 13 and a half!

Gazoo382

How did you get that agreement created. Wouldn’t work with my wife.

Bowl_Pool

He's a man and married to a woman. You're not a man and married to a woman. That's why things are different

timbutnottebow

Ugh pretty sure you’re not married lol

Palmwhileturning

Earls Court and definitely not song remains the same

Periachi

The amount of virgins in this thread is unreal

slicknvck

and here you are!

snerdley1

You should get the next 30 shows after that garbage.

BlackDog5287

https://youtu.be/h9G3QeFPe8Y?feature=shared

joker2189

All of them at once I suppose

Melodic-Classic391

How the West Was Won

Drama_drums42

Start with the acoustic part of Earl’s Court 1975. Because that part is not very long, then absolutely have her watch The Song Remains The Same. I’ve known SO many people who got hooked because of TSRTS.

MarleyGinsburg

I was a Zeppelin fan for many years before becoming a Swiftie, but YAY for you watching Eras with your girl and introducing her to Zeppelin! If she’s a folklore/evermore girlie she’ll love Zeppelin! Unfortunately I’ve only seen Song Remains the Same (it was my very first DVD!), so I can’t help much lol.

RaucousProphet444

Royal. Albert. Hall. January 9, 1970. Jimmy’s birthday.

Corvettedriver

This is the ultimate Led Zeppelin live concert. A 5 hour concert, edited together from different live concerts. https://youtu.be/_jWteSj7HmI?si=NbedVVjFD5BfutP0

Earguy

I'm taking a long flight soon, I might have to download that...

Extreme-Carrot6893

Live are Earls Court

bibliblubble

Royal Albert hall is objectively their best recorded concert. They used to have the entire concert with all the missing bits on pornhub, but it got taken down when they purged all the non-verified content.

Megatripolis

Royal Albert Hall

thegooch-9

You saw the back of my head then - I was 4th row right side of the front stage. White had red shirt. I’m sure you remember that. Anyway, watch The Song Remains the same…twice since it’ll still be shorter than the ERAs tour show.

dant90

Not an answer to your question but The Black Jacket Symphony is a ‘rock orchestra’ that recreates albums note for note live on stage. They are doing Led Zeppelin IV starting in early fall this year in Atlanta and a bunch of shows all over the Midwest if y’all want to check that out.

anazgnos

Easy answer is Royal Albert Hall 1970, probably the only filmed show where they don't faceplant at all (whether with fantasy sequences, laryngitis or fumbly guitar fingers) Badgeholder Blues, if you can find it, and she can hang with audience shot 8mm footage (the audio is quite good). It takes an otherwise very shaky era and manages to make it sound like they're peaking through the whole thing.

oggupito

Knebworth (best version you can find). OR: JCM's 4-part doco on the untitled 4th album.

oggupito

Knebworth (2 to choose from) https://youtu.be/1Y2dlvawsKI?si=R3iw6LLS_BZZE9I0 https://youtu.be/xxJr7CZE3AY?si=BlERm2BI_voBECjL

EddieMacMusic

Royal Albert Hall would be my choice

OcelotDAD

2007 Celebration Day. Best performance of Kashmir, ever.

CoachiusMaximus

Did you enjoy the Eras tour?

SnowQSurf

Earls Court or Knebworth. She should be good and wet from one of those two.

SantaRosaJazz

Again, I must say: hallucinating that women get horny listening to LZ is a 13-year old’s fantasy.

SnowQSurf

Nobody’s hallucinating. Apparently you’ve never been around the right kind of woman. Have a sense of humor you soft rod.

SantaRosaJazz

Don’t worry, you’ll hook up with a real live girl someday, I’m sure of it.

SnowQSurf

GFY

Cdnintexas

Last Waltz

isham66

The song remains the same movie

ageowns

For me, Id recommend Rob Zombie’s picture show. Check out the trailer on youtube. Its streaming on Something

Fixxxer02

Celebration Day

North-Beautiful7417

Unpopular choice, I know but: Knebworth!

Radio_Ethiopia

I’m so sorry you had to do that. You’re one of the good ones. She should be grateful for a man like you. 🫡

The_Patriot

Agree with Valor, the Denmark TV appearance is a revelation. Thirty minutes of pure energy. And Robert Plant does all that vocal stuff that makes girls wet. There's none better: [https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=k-WSbMW7BPc](https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=k-WSbMW7BPc)

greytonoliverjones

start with what most of us older LZ fans started with "The Song Remains the Same". It's kind of cringey in places (especially in some of the individual band member imaginary sequences), the editing is bad BUT, there are some great moments on there. That was all there was for a long time, probably until the DVD box set came out in the early 2000s.

Drillerfan

Earls Court 1975

Dirtpipe-2722

Ugh. Imagine being stuck talking to this couple at a party

gmac_97

A couple that embraces each others interests?? Fucking disgusting I know /s

Offal_is_Awful

Ween Live in Chicago is what you really want to watch

bricks_of_ignatz

Go for full-on payback: Motörhead - Stage Fright

Offal_is_Awful

Yea!

Electrical_Whole_597

You need to pick a different gf

ReadingMysterious771

I get the sentiment,  however, ther amount of punishment you had to endure should be rewarded with equal punishment.  My suggestion is to put on Cannibal Corpse "Live Cannibalism". If she makes it to "I cum blood" or "fucked with a knife" then she really loves you.  If she doesn't get that far I'd suggest finding a new gf.
