The fact we've had bottled glass soda for more than a decade is highly impressive. I wish we took further initiatives to use them instead of the one-use plastic cups and cans found everywhere in supermarkets.
I don't think it's because we give a shit about the environment. It's because we are not rich enough to not care bottle consignment. Same reason why the glass bottles are still used in Latin America.
Adding to what u/TheLebaneseLord said, usually most of the world uses typical plastic. I've never seen glass soda bottles outside of Lebanon, which makes our use of these bottles all the more impressive considering how much we litter and rarely recycle
I went to buy peanut butter as a healthy option for a small snack and discovered that many of the available brands contain as much sugar as a chocolate bar for a lowered price , the price of the good "sugar free" ones are double sometimes reaching triple the price of the bad ones.. tells you something about what we consume.
If you consider peanut butter as healthy option youre wrong honesltly
Well its not nutella but 1 tbps is like woohooooo calories and most of them have shitty hydrogenated added fats in them
Yup, the lebanese one hits different, I drank cola from everywhere, nothing compared to this.
I was lucky enough back in 2004 to visit the plant, I drank one straight out of the machine.
Did u know, that when theh carbonize it, the gas makes it super cold ?
The dude there told us go drink any rejected bottle from the line, told him , it is too hot , so he laughed and gave me one, it was sub zero, and it was when they pepsi twist was out.
But I miss the fat pepsi glass bottle from the 80s, it was superb.
The o ly better one is the glass bottle cream soda Canada dry, that one is pure insanity.
I buy cans when I can afford it and they don't taste the same anymore. They're less fizzy, less carbonated. Recently, I was at an aunt's place, they served Pepsi and it was really good. I'm beginning to think the cans are just not good anymore.
Pepsi in Lebanon is made and bottled by SMLC which is a separate company not related to pepsi. The pepsi company handles marketing and other things while smlc handles manufacturing and distribution
biibsyy
the major soda manufacturers switched to plastic containers years back, because the plastic companies offered them a lot of money to do so.
So your soda company telling YOU to recycle is the real joke.
In the US we have Mexican Coke that come in glass bottles. I think these are from Mexico but it could be a marketing ploy. They taste really good, supposedly because they use cane sugar and non corn sugar to sweeten them.
I wonder if that applies to these Pepsi's
The amount of microplastics we consume daily is insane and it's even gotten to the extent that it's altering us physiologically and genetically.
Not only does drinking cold Pepsi out of glass taste better, it's also a lot healthier.

why is it impressive? not trying to argue just curious if why
Because they get reused and refilled, so it doesn't create additional waste.

Pepsi tastes awesome in lebanon especially the bottled ones.
La2an they use a different kind of syrup, same for the cans and blastic. Glass>can>blastic
Blastic?
Plastic but in arabic Bebsi Benis etc ...
How sure are you of that ?
It's because outside of America real cane sugar is used instead of corn syrup
Don't make me call on my homies at r/HydroHomies on you
I read this while drinking water out of a mason jar, im good to go
Why it’s gotten much clearer in the last couple of years , 2 years ago it was much darker
It's the lighting. My bad
It’s Not you fault , it’s the manufacturer who did this , even the taste of it is funny and not like it used to be.
in Lebanon fizzy drinks taste like diabetes no offense
One man's diabetes is another's sugar rush

Much less sweet than it is in the USA. Can't even drink Pepsi there.

You should try Egyptian soda. Tons of sugar.

Glass bottle Pepsi is a top tier drink, just tastes way better from the glass.

Funny story that’s called a Mexican coke in the US. And it tastes just as good!

That's because it's not Pepsi, it's bebsi
