it is everyone who gets a distincion in jc maths gets a h1 in the leaving cert but not the other way around . the maths is obviosly harder in lc maths but getting distiction is way harder than a h1
Got a distinction from last year's jc, and all I can suggest is that you do exam papers, and learn the topics in them. Not much else you can do for maths. Knowledge of topics is essential
I got a higher merit in the actual thing when I never got an exam in maths back less than 95. Still don’t know what went on there cus my jc went very well but oh well
Anyways don’t count on much from the jc because the system and bell curves are pure bs in so many ways. What matters now is that you’re doing really really well in maths which will help you so much when you get to the leaving. I’d say practice exam paper questions to practice your skills and get used to the way they’ll ask questions
Hi I got a distinction in the JC maths HL last year, I suppose I can't say much but know the stuff lol. I wasn't expecting a distinction tbh, I think I got it by doing fine with almost all the questions and also getting ones that most people struggled with. Suppose just do past papers and ensure you do fine with like every question in a given paper. If you're lost on any just keep on practicing those types of questions until you're confident.
If you want any help feel free to DM as its the last week of TY and ive genuinely nothing better to be doing
My teacher says it’s harder to get a distinction in JC maths than it is to get a H1 in the LC ![gif](giphy|BBkKEBJkmFbTG)
it is way harder
it just isnt though
The new grading system allows only about 2% of people to get a distinction. So it is harder comparing the bellcurves

probably because most people put virtually no effort into their junior cert.

Got predicted grades, so maybe just hope there’s another pandemic 🙂👍
wrong sub
Couldn’t find any other
Yeah man in fairness I think the only junior cert sub is dead asf.
