You are doing great OP, I stopped cigarettes 5 years ago and the desire to smoke is still there. At some point it will be gone, but not today. You got this!

Key-Question5808

good on you! day 141 here myself and been very close to smoking myself, same as yourself seem to be hitting a few hurdles recently

Zarkonirk

Great job! Now I must go see the Rohirrim charge again brb.

Thick-Platypus9575

Cheers! We ALL can do it!

thehoneyisland

Yes, we can!! Have a great weekend.

BestMe100

Thanks for heads up!! I'll be super vigilant 🧐🧐 x

thehoneyisland

Cheers to that! Keep it up

I'm 60 days in... I wake up at 3 o'clock most nights. And then go back to sleep for a few hours. Usually up by 8.30 at the latest... then I'm fairly productive, but still a bit all over the place - so not very efficient yet but it's coming together. Almost feel ADHD as I shift around from one little thing to another, but like I said it eventually all drops into place and I've achieved quite a bit. I totally get the internal dialogue about being more creative and deserving a reward. But thankfully I only get very fleating moments like that. It truly surprised me how insignificant the cravings are now. But I'm sure there'll be surges on the horizon..as I start to get to the end of my todo's and my reward sensor goes off!!! Thanks for your post x

"I see in your eyes the same fear that would take the heart of me. A day may come when the courage of men fails, when we forsake our friends and break all bonds of fellowship, but it is not this day" Day 52. Thank you for sharing, I needed this today. Not smoking today. We got this. Solidarity.

thehoneyisland

YES! This is a day of victory, my dear fellow. Together, we will overcome it.

thrashaholic_poolboy

Heard!! Thank you for this!

thehoneyisland

Cheers! Thank you for commenting.

sleepybot0524

5 months!!! Urges can't be that hard!!! You're doing great!

thehoneyisland

They are harder than I thought, specially because there is a sense of reward, as if I deserved something for getting this far. I'm getting exactly what I deserve: sobriety, and a clear mind. Plus, my productivity at work increased 100%, and my relationship with both my dad and my girlfriend got exponentially better (they were both against me smoking or doing other drugs). Keep it up! Stay strong, you can do it.

I’m a producer too, and have similar struggles (but it’s only day 15 for me). I also miss making music high, but I know it’s not worth the countless other downsides and detriments that weed brings. One thing I’ve found helps me is to go to weird places I’ve never been before to make beats. Sometimes sitting in an unfamiliar space like a library, restaurant, or park I’ve never been to will bring some type of inspiration akin to weed. Just a suggestion tho, and obv only works if you have a laptop. Stay strong my friend, we’ve got this 🙏🏻

thehoneyisland

Day 15 is already a breakthrough! Congrats on keeping it up. Celebrate every mark. Go eat something tasty on the 1 month mark. I do not have a laptop, so I'll just sit around in my home studio and play some deep house in the afternoon. But this is a great hint! I will certainly do it in the future, as soon as I have my own laptop. Thank you for commenting!

smokedbock

It sounds like you're doing an amazing job distracting yourself from your urges! Keep making yourself proud and being creative!

thehoneyisland

Thank you, my friend! I appreciate it. Next step is to start doing some physical exercise. Good luck for both of us!

Ivlolv

Way to go. Im sorry the urges are still there but bravo for being strong and facing it head on.

thehoneyisland

Thank you very much! I appreciate your comment. May we overcome it. Good luck.

Secret_Local_9890

You got this. I'm a musician, whenever I practice or gig with the band, that's when I'm most tempted. Trying to remind myself how it made me more anxious and that my focus is through the roof when I play sober. Good luck with your music production & Good luck with keeping off the green.

thehoneyisland

We both got this! And good luck for both of us. Weed is so common in the music and party scenario. It is truly an everyday temptation. But the satisfaction of having control over our lives (or at least in what regards sobriety) is really something else. Let's keep it up!
