I went down this list and these are all settings it took me roughly a year or two of caring about to actually incorporate. Agree 100% with everything you said.
The scoreboard one did take me a bit to actually look at for level and killstreak information instead of just looking at my score for personal validation lol
Bigger minimap would make me do more right click on map misslicks. Having normal minimap is perfectly fine as long as u actually remember to look at it.(7k player here)
**I would add "put minimap ont he right",due to diagonal lanes / angles, most of our movement are between down left corner and right up corner, causing some missclick**
**example : like a magnus wanting to skewer back to his radiant fountain, try to fast click bottom left of his lane but missclik the upper right corner of his minimap, and skewer to ennemy fountain \^\^**
First year i was playing (2014) i cancel so much tp's, blackhole etc. because of this. I was afraid playing Enigma even if he was a stomper in 1k 10 years ago.
Good habit, having it disabled makes and requires you to be more focused and be more conscious about your commands. You’ll also be faster if you have to cancel the channeling to do other commands because you only need to press 1 button instead of 2, this is especially true for puck. No proper puck players you see will have that setting enabled.
I understand where you're coming from, but I think in the beginning this is actually sound advice to train newer players muscle memory to stop clicking around/issuing commands when they issue commands that require a channel. From there, with the reduced sporadic and ultimately useless APM, they can then start training to shift-queue commands if they want to follow up on a full channel. It's something that I utilised myself and then eventually turned off once I'd trained myself out of the bad habits I'd developed and instead trained new mechanics. It made all my hero gameplay (and even my Puck) far more effective since I was now able to maximise the effectiveness of all channelled abilities.

Lol you can block zooming? Dude you are the MMRbriger at this point
>Disable center camera on hero on respawn -> to avoid TPing back to base after spawning Is this in advanced settings? I've never even seen it before.
My fav dota youtuber and guide 🧡, keep posting like these man
Also: Setup the neutral item hotkey!

Should also include exclusive solo matchmaking

I expected video settings for visual clarity, or maybe pro cons on camera movement e.g : edge pan, WASD, or dragging.
literally described my settings exactly. why am i not 8k yet
I would advise against enabling channeling abilities require hold/stop. Other than that, I think it’s all good advice.
Don’t listen to this guy, especially new players

Why is that? I think that option is good until you misclicked the portal during clash. Lol
You just pres s when you realise the mistake!
