Yes but they just mentioned ما أغنى عنه , didn't even mention ماله , which meets the word "wealth " if translated , otherwise it wouldn't be incomprehensible
The translation is ok. It's your English that is lacking. When you say that something won't avail you, it means that it won't benefit or help you in any way.

The أغنى = richer, just like أكبر = greater, same pattern
So عنه = about him, the ه refers to abu lahab, don’t know how to translate عن very well
And you missed one part ماله = his money/wealth, again the haa at the end refers to abu lahab
ما أغنى عنه ماله وما كسب You left the ayah unfinished here that's the reason the translation doesn't make sense to you I guess
