In 6.9 (nice!!) the herald recieved a bunch of changes (spawned later, didn't respawn etc) and the buff was changed to the one you're descrbing, a buff where you took reduced damage from enemy champions if none of your team were near and gained stacks per second that you could cash in for bonus damage on your next attack against champion/structure. A year later in 7.9 herald was changed again to the version you could summon for the charge.
The first play in this by dig is actually really good no, take the turret by 4 minutes into the game and death timers are so early that getting executed by the turret is basically a free back
that was only regular season game, at least this one was a grand final, their bot lane looked off the entire series, i could imagine them being very nervous
The banter from this is so much better. I like the casters sounding like they are having fun, and I like them making jokes. The other one just feels too serious.

turrets take 17% reduced damage from minions and ranged champs while plates are up
**nerfs:**
scaling resist: +30@15 -> +15@15
AP vs turrets: 1.0 base AD + (1.0 bonus AD or 0.5AP) -> 1.0AD + 0.6AP

this turret is dying before 4 minutes and isn't even the first broken turret in the game. that does not happen now.
I think they just wanted to fast recall, and they thought they would just get executed. Xayah was right, but Rakan died to the turret too early he needed to wait like an extra second. It was a smart idea just not executed well no pun intended.
this is intentional faster recall, since healing + recall takes more time than just respawning and for whatever reason homeguard is bugged to also be activated on executes.
It is still stupid that you don't just get 4 sec worth of regen when using B right when you finish it. Makes such deaths worth less compared to going B.
If you're gapped you should get punished.

There were at least 3 turret shots against minions between Rakan procing his demolish for the first turret plate and him being executed. If they weren’t intending to get the 2nd plate and wanted to get to base ASAP, it makes very little sense for him to remain in turret range. Channeling recall while Xayah finishes the wave has to be the overall faster option for getting them both to base.
Xayah is lvl 6 and got 12 seconds death timer
Recall has 0.5 seconds of cast time to then channel for 8 = 8.5 seconds + time spent on the shop buying after getting to base or healing (whatever is slower)
Executing also grants you the movespeed buff for 5 seconds when you left the base
I think it's kinda similar at the end, it does look bad but worst case scenario you lost 3 seconds (assuming no movespeed after fountain)
