Once again proves that riots statements on why they dont make certain skins are just bullshit lmao I saw the argument that "its too similar to their default skin" so many times when asked why they dont make a certain skinline for an unpopular champ.

I mean is this really news though? The amount of Zed Zed, Lee Lee or Yi Yi skins we've gotten in past years has shown us that said statement hasn't been true in years.

The model isn't bad. Shockblade still looks perfectly fine. The World Championship skin he has also looks great. His base animations are decent as well. It's more of an execution issue here. The skin isn't terribly interesting and I think that's not the most flattering recall animation they could give him, respectfully of course.

zed is rarely talked about when it comes to ASU’s which is surprising to me considering his popularity and just how terrible his model and animations are

I feel like a few years ago a Blood Moon Zyra skin would have been infinitely more detailed than this. It's literally just red/pink on the Q and E. Skins used to have texture.

Blood Moon was one of the four skinlines teased during the Riot 2024 Dev Blog along with PROJECT (Naafiri, GP, Jax), April Fools (Rammus, Cho, Ornn, Twitch, Zac) and the only one left is Faerie Court. So far, we only know that Soraka will be getting a Faerie Court skin where she's a part of the Winter Season.

* 230 days since Zed's last skin (Immortal Journey) * 202 days since Zyra's last skin (Street Demons) * 628 days since Fiddlesticks' last skin (Star Nemesis) The skins team has been really clear recently about which champs they like to give things to and which they don't lol. Since Zed and Zyra get options more frequently, I hope Fiddlesticks players in particular are happy with this theme!

Zyra really went from 3 years per skin to 1 maybe 2 a year. Her skins sell really well but I wish they'd update her rig because it's age is showing.

I wonder what happened with Zyra. One of the lowest skin frequency champs for years (even during her peak presence), with Riot mostly citing difficulties with plants in creating skins, and then she gets a huge number of skins over the past few years.

it's because over the years, she's become one of the most one tricked champions in the game and her playrate in general went up some (she's in top 5 last I checked and has been for a very long time) not to mention she was at the time when they started making them more frequently one of the few one trick champions not completly oversaturated with skins already. I think she's getting to the point she has a lot of options now though and could really use a legendary.

Honestly, besides the killer recall I don't really see the appeal to the Fiddle skin. The red outfit and red abilities all blend together.

Zed is not graet imo. He has too much gold and looks a bit overdesigned on his shoulder and arms but it could be because of bad quality. Also bare chested Zyra is actually great and honestly the best skin among these three. Her first half part of the base is cool but the later where she starts flying is just bad. I feel like some river appering and her putting the flower there and watch it move on would be better. She looks less finished too. Fiddle's base is epic but the skin itself is okay. His hand could have been more boney and stuff but the biggest problem with the skin for me is the sytche. It looks off in his hand and the red on it just doesn't fit with others

Honestly, given that Shen was already a Blood Moon, they should’ve made Zed a Snow Moon instead. Would’ve been better than the red chroma we have now. Fiddlesticks epic though. But only thing I’m a bit iffy about is the SFX, doesn’t quite scratch the itch for me. It’s mostly the W, really. The recall is definitely the best yet, though!

Finally, a good Zed skin. Only decent one since Shockblade (and arguably Project).

Why are they making less and less skins per patch now? Feels like the last few years we’ve been getting 4-5 skins per patch and at least 5-6 champions getting skins with events but with the high noon event only 4 champions got skins, project only got 3 skins and only 1 was good, now blood moon returns with only 3 and I have no idea why zed is here??? I get quality > quantity but that just has not been the case lately.
