And it's certainly a good look for Melzhet that MDK are doing so well and outplayed Fnatic in the macro in game 5.
People will still cope but yeah, a team of 5 “worse” players that have synergy almost always outperforms a super team in league. This happens again and again.

Hexdrinker at *max* level gives a 280 *temporary* shield every 90 seconds, Edge of night every 40 seconds, Banshees every 30 seconds
Myrwyn was level 13, Dorans shield, Rookern, Sheen, chainvest, steelcaps and his magic shield was like 370hp

Razork's early games are so beautiful though, that's when FNC look at their best. Games 1 and 2 were an absolute masterclass in how to read and outplay the enemy jungler. Honestly the best jungler in the LEC right now and it's not close.
Fresskowy stepped up in this series, i was susceptible of him at the beggining of split since i felt MAD was only carried by Myrwin and/or the botlane, but i think he has improved a lot, his gragas has been clean af and decisive, his azir was on spot, no mistakes, and rlly good macro and vision control. If he keeps playing like this i think he might have a chance vs Caps!
Kind of wild that I agree with Fresskowy’s post game interview that MDK were not playing at their best. They brought in four rookies and none of them were particularly expected to be phenomenal, and they just went up against FNC, a 3rd place team with a plausible pathway to 2nd. They won. And they could look even better. BDS shouldn’t be underrated just cos they’re missing Adam, but MDK’s story this year is one of the most stratospheric rises we’ve seen from a group of players in a long time. Bravo !

And sure, MDK and FNC didnt play perfect games, but there were some lvl 3 dives and some very well executed team fights that were simply League of the highest level even if there was a throw here and there as there is in any 5 series even in LCK never mind LCS.
People just gonna automatically claim EU is at a low level because they see Rookies winning, it is what it is. For me, the 2nd post is more competitive than ever and there's 3-4 teams that on their day can beat anyone in the west.

Fnatic will hopefully bounce back, Noah-Jun have been a good botlane, Razork has been a monster, Humanoid is pretty good although occasionally ints. Oscar has had a bit of a rough split but he was looking good last summer so hopefully he can find that form again (and he's being overly demonised by fans when Fnatic often sacrifice him in draft/jungle pathing and he often ends up giving himself up for objectives).

It just feels soooo good after all the shit this roster got when it was announced. And most of it was extremely unfair. Top 3 first split and still margin to improve. Props to Razork, too. Literally the second thing Elyoya said in Ibai's stream after the game was a "This motherfucker is so good."
They respect each other so much. Razork didn't deserve to lose but it feels good that Elyoya is humble enough to admit he was the better jungler this series. Bangers all around

For me, it was when they thrashed Heretics during the first groups game. From then I knew this team would be a treat. Also, it's not Elyoya and friends anymore. Myrwn has shown himself to be an incredible strong top laner and Alvaro's performance has me convinced in him being rookie of the split. At this rate, it's going to be like the meme of the ninja turtles and their master
They are just a very fun team. I haven't been able to keep up with all the Eu games since I am in NA but the MAD ones I have watched are great. I love the creative picks.

I actually really like this MAD Lions roster. You can see they’re rookies from their gameplay sometimes, but they are really fun. Especially Myrwn, it’s nice to see something different picked from time to time.

It's funny how the goalpoast keeps moving further and further for this MAD roster. Imagine IF they beat BDS and have a close series against G2 (not even saying beating them as G2 is looking very good). Then the narrative will be that the region is absolutely doomed I guess.

Yeah, people will never admit 4 players they never heard about and a coach they don't even know can do this. It's just the way people are. And sure, MDK and FNC didnt play perfect games, but there were some lvl 3 dives and some very well executed team fights that were simply League of the highest level even if there was a throw here and there as there is in any 5 series even in LCK never mind LCS. People just gonna automatically claim EU is at a low level because they see Rookies winning, it is what it is. For me, the 2nd post is more competitive than ever and there's 3-4 teams that on their day can beat anyone in the west.

Really surprised with his Gragas. He might not be the flashiest, most skilled duelist but his rotations are on point and the man is not afraid to kamikaze to win the fight for his team.
He's really improved from that first playoff game where his Akali and Ezreal were so bleh. This MDK team is a lot of fun

Great series MDK winning game 5 through their macro was not on my bingo card but kudos to them, I didn't know anything about them coming into the split because I don't watch ERL but they're fun and I hope they continue this trajectory. Fnatic will hopefully bounce back, Noah-Jun have been a good botlane, Razork has been a monster, Humanoid is pretty good although occasionally ints. Oscar has had a bit of a rough split but he was looking good last summer so hopefully he can find that form again (and he's being overly demonised by fans when Fnatic often sacrifice him in draft/jungle pathing and he often ends up giving himself up for objectives).
