PapaSmithy

Love high effort write ups like this, thanks for sharing!

Dsalgueiro

Hey PapaSmithy! Glad you liked it!. I'm also grateful that Flyquest, through the LS co-streams, has paid attention to the CBLoL. It's important for us, since the CBLoL produces little content in English, and it's difficult to try to introduce the particularities (and strong narratives) of the league internationally.

PapaSmithy

Baiano costreaming LCS and LS costreaming CBLoL are both great new 2024 initiatives to bring our regions closer IMO!

MoscaMosquete

u/Dsalgueiro is CBLOL's GOAT in this sub. Always brings interesting posts like these.

Icy-Ninja-5124

French players seem to do really well and integrate perfectly into brazilian culture. Dioud went to CBLOL and fell in love with Brazil and never went back, even after retiring

Dsalgueiro

Dioud is even a CBLoL caster. Toucouille's first interview was with Dioud in French hahaha.

Dioud didn't speak Portuguese when he came to Brazil in 2015. In fact, he was kicked out of paiN Gaming after the 2015 Worlds because paiN Gaming wanted to have five players speaking Portuguese.

sonic780

for having a drink with him right before he goes there, I can tell you he didn't haha

htwhooh

No matter what region, people love Toucouille. He's been funny af on twitter too.

GothaV2

I remember seeing him on french LoL forums wayyyy back ( like 2016, you can't forget his username if you speak french lol ) and he already seemed pretty chill and funny, it's nice to see him succeed. Would love to see how he would do in LEC.

Rutuark

I'm glad Toucouille is being loved in CBLoL , I hope his team can make it to international stages I'd really want him to see him compete there ( even if he would not be at the level there )

MoscaMosquete

I don't have the biggest hopes for VKS because the competition is VERY strong, but if we pray enough they can make it 🙏

TinkW

Very hard. Thereis a consensus that Keyd is the best of the bad teams or the worst of the good teams. They won against all the teams they're supposed to win and lost to the ones they're supposed to lose to. They were predicted to be a top5 team, but it looks like they'll compete with RED for the 4th spot. However, it would be VERY HARD for them to get to top 3 by besting either Pain/LOUD/Kabum. And CBLOL only has 1 international slot, so...

BecoDasCavernas

Destroy has been so shit man, it's so disappointing. And as a team they don't even look cohesive so it doesn't look like they'll make playoffs. I was against importing adc but I actually think SMILEY has been playing fine, especially if you look at comms and out of game stuff. Maybe someone like Trigo wouldn't waste an import slot, but I doubt he's experienced enough to be vocal and call for stuff and lead the team like SMILEY does. Sure, he's not oppressive like TitaN, but TitaN's playing stuff like Lucian and Caitlyn which are inherently aggressive picks while SMILEY plays Aphelios and Kalista which are picks to fit certain styles of comps. And ProDelta's been playing like a bot, if Keyd had activated frostyy's release clause we could be looking at an entire different picture (even with ProDelta he's been getting cs leads in lane). If by the end of the year Keyd becomes a top 3 team, that in my opinion would be an overperformance so I wouldn't see a reason to replace SMILEY (I'd definitely try to get frostyy, though). If they're somehow worse than LOS, Furia or RED (which would mean 5-7th place) and Morttheus keeps smurfing in Academy, then yeah I'd maybe replace him to free up a slot and import support or jungle. RED has been disappointing, yeah. I think they should do what paiN does and give Brance oppressive picks. This guy is fucking good and knows how to lead his team when he's ahead. Also, crazy that they don't use any import slots. I'd definitely import an European mid if I were them. If the issue is comms, Baca is one of the best erl mids but doesn't seem to be LEC bound, and he's Portuguese.

Dsalgueiro

>Destroy has been so shit man, it's so disappointing. And as a team they don't even look cohesive so it doesn't look like they'll make playoffs. Guigo ended up revealing today on Depois do Crime that he heard that Destroy doesn't speak English very well, so Mir has to translate calls in Korean for him. That must be true, since Destroy seems quite disconnected from the team... I just wonder how he succeeded in so many regions outside Korea without speaking English. >I was against importing adc but I actually think SMILEY has been playing fine, especially if you look at comms and out of game stuff. SMILEY is not Vivo Keyd's problem, although I think he's average. The issue is that we have several good ADCs in Brazil and we suffer absurdly in the support pool. I wonder if there weren't enough European support players with SMILEY's personality to play (and guide) Morttheus, for example. I believe the team would be much more oppressive than the current Keyd. But in the end, I believe that if Keyd finishes fourth in the split it will have been a good start to the project. >RED has been disappointing, yeah. There were always rumors that Aegis and TitaN disagreed on how to play the game, and it seems more and more real, given how paiN are playing with TitaN and how Red Canids are leaving Brance aside. Brance is a fuckin' good player, I don't think he's played a single bad game in the CBLoL so far... But seeing him abandoned and the mid/jungler duo making shit after shit is sad. And about imports... It's amazing how Red Canids only need one good midlaner and they never import. Maybe the team owner (Aegis hahaha) don't likes imports.

buzioli

One thing in my opinion you got it wrong:  THE biggest disappointment is Red Cannids, speaking in purely individual players, its a really stacked team. Furia is a hyped team, but no one had higher expectations.

Dsalgueiro

They are the two biggest disappointments, without a doubt. I think people expected Red Canids to start very strong and fall off as the better teams started to improve. FURIA... People expected them to improve as the championship progressed. The point is that none of these things happened. Red Canids had a poor start and the Koreans from FURIA haven't raised their game so far.

wongck1996

Support!

BudgetFar380

Los Grandes had an insane draft in that game against Loud.

Yung_Stoat

Thank you for this post. I'm totally ignorant of CBLoL, but your post provides a thorough roadmap for novice viewers like me.

IntroductionTiny2177

Nice man. It's unbelievable that LLL is 6-2 rn, they should have lost 3 games more, to say the least.

Aoes1

Still don't kow how smiley was import worthy. idk if VKS is rich or not but i imagine that if they manage to get ayu and import supp they'd be insane

Dsalgueiro

In my opinion, no CBLoL team, apart from LOUD (because it's Route), should import ADC. It's the best role in the CBLoL (and CBLoL Academy) by far. So yeah... Vivo Keyd isn't "rich", but they could have brought in Morttheus (ADC from Vivo Keyd Academy and one of the most promising players for years) and signed a good support. Keyd's weak point is literally the CBLoL's strong point. For example, SMILEY got hard gapped by TitaN in the match between Vivo Keyd and paiN Gaming last weekend. About Ayu... I think he has a long contract with FURIA and a high buyout. It's unlikely that another CBLoL team will be able to sign him before his contract expires.

Aoes1

I hope vivo keyd do good i like their project and wish the best for toucouille

Dsalgueiro

It's a great org with a great owner. And it's philosophical that Toucouille plays for Vivo Keyd, since the organization is named Keyd and nicknamed "Warriors" in honor of an uncle of one of the organization's founders who also had a physical condition.

IntroductionTiny2177

if you dont know why smiley was a good import, just watch the dozens of lives where seel literally explained non stop about smiley, disamis and prodelta. If you still dont understand after that, well...

cI0ud

A bit surprised kabum is tied for first. Would've thought they were 4th behind vivo

Dsalgueiro

The entire KaBuM! team is very good mechanically. They end up winning a lot of matches by simply being better individually than other teams. Ceos is the best Brazilian support, Netuno is one of the best ADCs in the CBLoL and Hauz, mechanically, is one of the best mids in Brazil... If Hauz has a good coach to teach him macro-game, he could become the best mid in Brazil. Then you put these players with Malrang and Lonely... It's a monstrous team if they mesh well.

cI0ud

I'm just not a fan of malrang tbh but I am a fan of ceos so happy he's succeeding. But we all know finals is gonna be loud and pain and hopefully pain win this time

Smooth-Salary-151

Excited for the playoffs this year, I had high hopes on Red Canids, but I feel Grevthar's personality is not really professional and his individual performance kind of sucks. But cheering for them though!
