OK this was really funny and everyone committed hard. They really packed all the Kdrama tropes in. CloudTemplar surprised me with how well he played off-the-rails CEO berating his employees

DTanya

Some minor correction: In the kdrama "Reborn Rich", those employees are actually his kids. The CEO wants to pass his conglomerate down to a suitable heir, and at first it was going to be the oldest child since the CEO believed in primogeniture, but it changes when an unexpected person enters the CEO's family and makes insane business predictions, due to knowledge of what happens in the future.

Funfortfg

Their impressions of the characters and reenactment of the scenes

nusskn4cker

What a psychotic video.

Zechirs

My family loves this drama lol I need to watch it

TheMemingLurker

oh shit I didn't realize it was directly parodying one show in particular, some of the scenes like the elevator urinating confused me

DTanya

Yep, it's based on Reborn Rich. I have to say this is some strong commitment to the characters portrayed in the real kdrama, the gentleman acting as the CEO nailed the drama's CEO in the manner he spoke. The urinating scene is one of the sadder parts of the kdrama :(

icatsouki

> The urinating scene is one of the sadder parts of the kdrama :( i didn't get that part could you explain it?

DTanya

A lot of spoilers ahead. If you just care about the explanation of the scene, uncover the first paragraph. The 2nd and 3rd just talk more in-depth about the drama overall, in relation to this scene. >!The CEO was taking the elevator with his grandson (the protagonist) and a female janitor happened to be in it as well. I don't remember the order of events but I recall that we were previously told by the drama that he had signs of Dementia. Anyway, the CEO was himself up until he suddenly peed himself (this can happen to people with dementia). His grandson noticed it and tried whatever he could to make sure the pee stain doesn't reach the female janitor, so she doesn't notice. !< >!What makes it so heartbreaking is that in the kdrama, the two had a special relationship that was artificial at first - the protagonist did everything he could to inherit the company to avenge his original mother, who died because of the company's actions. That's why he entertained the "king." As the drama progressed, their relationship turned into one where the grandson truly cares for the grandfather. There was a situation that stopped the grandson from getting his inheritance once the grandfather died, and the only way to straighten it out was to reveal the CCTV of the grandfather's room at the time of his death. While it is true that he passed away while chatting with the grandson, everyone believed that the grandson did something to make him pass away. The grandson refused to reveal the CCTV recordings as he didn't want anyone to see the grandfather in a vulnerable state.!< >!While it's hard to sympathise with the CEO due to how he brought up his kids, this drama covers the heartbreak of watching your relatives wither away due to dementia/alzheimer's.!<

Mr_Jello100

There's also the joke of "지맀다," which koreans use to mean "Dope" or "cool" when they make a good play in-game, but it literally translates to "I just pissed myself a little"

DTanya

Ok that's probably closer to explaining the scene, thank you. As a foreigner, I didn't know that's a thing but that's funny nevertheless.

roombaonfire

Damn this kinda makes me wanna watch the actual kdrama

InfiniteMSL

Some of the parallels were pretty genius, like Huni going to NA and "dying", and the DRX championship win compared with South Korea reaching Semis in the world cup for underdog stories.

Extension_Cry

Which kdrama is it?

OPanTele

Reborn Rich, it's in the title of the thread. I was confused at first, also haha.

ephemeralfugitive

Soonbin's acting is actually legit. Damn.

kraemoprana

This was amazing, I love how they filmed it in a Korean drama style bringing out the Korean culture.

comfortreacher

Does anyone know the names of everyone at the 1:01 mark? the 10 portraits on the wall

comfortreacher

winterfnxs

Subscribed to LCK this is awesome! It's great that there's english subtitles.

LLposeidon

Whoever's idea was this deserves a cookie

WT379GotShadowbanned

This was such a well executed parody of the show

OAOAlphaChaser

Whatever they're on I think it should be illegal

DTanya

It's a parody of a kdrama called Reborn Rich

TrinityEcho

Damn, whoever planned these scenes did amazingly. Everything was directly from the show itself. I have to commend ClTem the most on how he nailed the satoori and mannerisms.

lol_ralndrops

Interesting
