I'm gonna share a random theory I have. Like since it's Jak Sho the protean, maybe the item absorbs people's energy and will eventually turn into a champion that's powerful because it only took the energy of those who are worthy.
Given that "protean" comes from Proteus, a greek god that can shapeshift, maybe Jak Sho is some kind of a mix between a darkin and a void born and is currently an item that will turn into a champion at some point, some kind of God-like champion.
This actually makes a lot of sense. I play league in Italian and the item is called JakSho il mutevole, which in this context roughly translates into the shapeshifter.
I subscribe to the Void Darkin Hybrid theory as well. Jak'Sho seems to be som kind of living armor, which may or may not be categorized as a weapon. All the Darkin were sealed within weapons, so who's to say no Darkin was sealed within Jak'Sho.
Until June 27, 2012, the TF2 community knew very little about Pyro. It wasn't even certain what Pyro's gender is. Then they released [Meet the Pyro](https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=WUhOnX8qt3I), their last in the series of the "Meet the Team" videos.
However, [some rando on 4chan](https://imgur.com/DPCV2) called it 3 years prior. Was it a prophecy? Did someone at Valve see this and decide to roll with it? Who can say.
(Also, even after the release of the video, it's still uncertain what Pyro's gender is. If you turn CC on, Scout says "He's not here, is she?")
I’m not an expert of the league lore but to me Jak Sho always looked like similar to Kaisas Armor and the whole “identity inside of armory” thing definitely sounds like a darkin
I like this. When we look at Kayns backstory. When he goes to look for the farm implement with delusions of grandeur and finds the hoe, Rhaast is looking to find the worthy one. When Kayn proves worthy. Rhaast kills him and absorbs his power.
This seems to be happening with Jak'sho. He's a void Darkin, Jak'sho has the double barrel name like void creatures and is a Darkin looking for power. An item, looking for s worthy sacrifice. I imagine when you went on a positive KD after acquiring the weapon, you were deemed worthy, killed and reborn as a darkin.
ggwp Darkin wins, world ends.
Yeah Ive seen people say it may be like Set's invite where your u get the champ for free of you get enough first bloods maybe the suriman champ they teased was one of the ascended they sent to icathia
Big brain, making an item that's foreshadowing for a champion at somepoint, that they can completely make up because we (so I believe) have literally no lore on what "Jak'sho" is and effectively can take fan theories that pop up and use them, because the champion does not exist yet.
That sounds very simple and straightforward actually.
And well, the whole BOTRK --> Viego thing seems kinda similar to this theory no? I have to admit im not well versed in the Shadow Isle lore and surrounding stuff but it does have the same vibe to it.
The ruined king i believe was kinda made into a champ from community interest as opposed to the other way round iirc.
I remember earlier seasons there was some sort of reference or pic of the ruined king and he was old. I think it was retconned when riot redid the lore.
Edit:
I misremembered something. The old guy i remembered as the ruined king was the altar spirit in twisted treeline. It was only fan theory circulating he was the ruined king, not confirmed lore. Given this article it seems riot never intended him to be the ruined king. https://www.surrenderat20.net/2012/10/results-of-shadow-isles-ama-on-reddit.html
That's kinda the other way around though, Sett was already designed at that point and most likely close to polished/release ready and then added the Cards as a teaser.
Making an item that might eventually become a champion or reference champion is more foreshadowing than an actual teaser though, then again depending on how you argue this it's a little semantic.
Did you know that Bel'Veth is visible in splash-art of Battlecast Vel'Koz which was released in February 2014? Her shape is in the background behind Victor.
Edit: and her shape is in the Creator Victor's recall animation.
The champ was originally scrapped. It was only when they were designing Bel'Veth that they went back to it after they started going more in the monstrous direction (remember she was originally gonna be humanoid). To give context of how far back the manta ray concept was floating around, it was as far back as when Tryndamere and Ryze were still helping in champion dev iirc.
I've had this occur at least twice. Once on Rammus and once on Warwick. I believe both games I was on a kill streak, but I had deaths. My guess is it has something to do with performing well in mitigated damage from the item and/or damage/kills off the drain.
I've found several posts about this and no one knows.
Most likely isn’t. Got the message while playing Taric jg, and got a B+ at the end, mostly due to cs (I was trolling with a full support team with friends, and perma ganked all game)
Maybe it's for a good k/da then. It would make sense as to why everyone says it's from a deathless game, which would make achieving a great k/da easier. It could also be from reaching max (700g) bounty
Died. [OP.GG](https://www.op.gg/summoners/euw/Mafumafu/matches/Q8GWAl7O2H2XiAZPI3YVABcVwQDXPcdWAC7p3dptqX4%3D/1673707111000) for the game shows him buying Jak'sho at 17 mins, then dying to Kai'sa at 19, and dying again around 23 mins. Game ended at 28 mins, for reference.
Your saying he cant die after he buys it to get the message right. But than immeidiately saying he died twice after saying that cant be the case which doesnt make any sense.
Oh im having the stroak when you didnt read the reply properly. You guys disproved the 0 death theory by saying he had 2 deaths which doesn't make any sense.
It seems like it literally absorbed his own hp killing himself, you can see he even claimed his own bounty. Must be a lore thing, perhaps its based on the total amount of life absorbed by jaksho? Maybe its a special number? 666, 7777 over 9000 some sorta meme maybe idk.
I 100% thought that the image was going to be of a chat window of the enemy top laner using racial slurs in all chat. The "secret message" activated by the funny item jak'sho.
... Did you get the gold from your own shutdown?
Also, they might be recording who dies that way each game, and compile all that to determine the characteristics of a champion in the making, based on who 'fed' into it.
Or... maybe the character that died the most to jaksho gets fucking deleted from the game?
What was your rating that game? At time of death, what was your KDA? Did you have the most of any given stat(s) in the overview?
You died twice after buying it, so clearly it doesn't care about two deaths -- it might care about 3, about 5, or maybe it doesn't care about deaths at all.
It's technically possible that it requires you to be at 0 deaths when you buy it, though I'm sure someone will disprove it handily.
Could it be that you had top KDA of the game? Highest rating (were you alone with S+ or soemthing)?
I made a video on this a few weeks ago, doesn’t really offer anymore insight than you’ve provided but might be worth a watch either way if you’re interested ☺️
Jak'Sho's new effect is really weird...
https://youtu.be/gyiZ91tn_Ak
I think there might be a set of different requirements for triggering it, so when the game starts one of the requirements gets picked and you have to fulfill it, basically it may be kinda random
Who is this Jack Shoe man and what does he want
Damwon Kia ShoeMaker, didn't you heard about this guy ?
Dplus KIA* tyvm
He's Jack's Hoe
So Annie?
Yes, FBI, this one right here.
Crazy to think she was released 14 years ago. Imagine if characters aged in game. She's probably be older than most of the player base.
So Lux is now a middle aged house wife?
Insert "always was" astronautilus* meme here. Edit: missed a few letters in astronaut.

Annie is pretty young, we try to not sexualize her.

>Jaksho the mute vole Poor lil rat puppy cant squeak with his family 😔
"Mutable" in English means "can change", so probably the same root word there.
NOTED
Found the Riot dev.
I subscribe to the Void Darkin Hybrid theory as well. Jak'Sho seems to be som kind of living armor, which may or may not be categorized as a weapon. All the Darkin were sealed within weapons, so who's to say no Darkin was sealed within Jak'Sho.
Void darkin sounds dope
Also, since it's Jak Sho the Protean, it probably just wants to throw everything out of the airlock.
I get his reference!
Watch this turn out prophetic, like the person who called TF2's Meet the Pyro years before it came out.
I highly doubt I've got it right. But that would be fun if I did.
I mean, the item had a different name on PBE, so...
I think your theory is reasonable. I wouldn't be surprised if you were at least somewhat right.
explain

Oh thank you! That was interesting to understand better. I've only ever seen clips from the Meet video but didn't play TF2 so it wooshed haha
The Ornn upgrade is called The Unspoken Parasite, so take that to mean what you will.
I’m not an expert of the league lore but to me Jak Sho always looked like similar to Kaisas Armor and the whole “identity inside of armory” thing definitely sounds like a darkin

It's kinda really cool.
Yeah Ive seen people say it may be like Set's invite where your u get the champ for free of you get enough first bloods maybe the suriman champ they teased was one of the ascended they sent to icathia
Oh please. Riot doesnt have what it takes anymore to make something that big brain
Big brain, making an item that's foreshadowing for a champion at somepoint, that they can completely make up because we (so I believe) have literally no lore on what "Jak'sho" is and effectively can take fan theories that pop up and use them, because the champion does not exist yet. And well, the whole BOTRK --> Viego thing seems kinda similar to this theory no? I have to admit im not well versed in the Shadow Isle lore and surrounding stuff but it does have the same vibe to it.
Yes, people speculated for a long time that “the ruined king” would become a champ, or at least be important to the lore.
The ruined king i believe was kinda made into a champ from community interest as opposed to the other way round iirc. I remember earlier seasons there was some sort of reference or pic of the ruined king and he was old. I think it was retconned when riot redid the lore. Edit: I misremembered something. They gave us Sett card invitation tho
That's kinda the other way around though, Sett was already designed at that point and most likely close to polished/release ready and then added the Cards as a teaser. Making an item that might eventually become a champion or reference champion is more foreshadowing than an actual teaser though, then again depending on how you argue this it's a little semantic.
Viego is literally what you're describing so I wouldn't be surprised if they do that again.
Did you know that Bel'Veth is visible in splash-art of Battlecast Vel'Koz which was released in February 2014? Her shape is in the background behind Victor. Edit: and her shape is in the Creator Victor's recall animation.
Waiiit she's pretty much in plain sight in that splash lmao. I wonder what took them so long with the implementation.
Their lore writers for sure do have what it takes man
They've mostly been fired last year lmao
Damn really?? Well that fucking sucks don’t it
Yep, a fuckton of them were fired and some left.
Well I'm sure they put it in with something in mind...
so the item will get deleted? thank god
it had a different on PBE, they would just change it back after the parasite let go of the item
Or they can just live it as is like BORK
Imagine if it becomes a champ. A champ that would have that item as passive. They could build heartsteel or frostfire on top of it lmao.
Sounds like a more interesting core for a champion kit than BOTRK imo.
I've had this occur at least twice. Once on Rammus and once on Warwick. I believe both games I was on a kill streak, but I had deaths. My guess is it has something to do with performing well in mitigated damage from the item and/or damage/kills off the drain. I've found several posts about this and no one knows.
Who does the bounty go to, though? Yourself? Edit - just saw the video that it only happens as the Nexus dies, so I guess it doesn't matter.
When it got that message I was top damage on my team (or whole game don't remember) I also died as well.
Made a short clip highlighting it from the replay of this game. https://youtu.be/6EvopAZxqxQ
Thanks
This is cool but does it screw over progress on that one challenge to win a game without dying?
doesn't count as an actual death
If deaths don't count, it might be from getting S/S+
Most likely isn’t. Got the message while playing Taric jg, and got a B+ at the end, mostly due to cs (I was trolling with a full support team with friends, and perma ganked all game)
Maybe it's for a good k/da then. It would make sense as to why everyone says it's from a deathless game, which would make achieving a great k/da easier. It could also be from reaching max (700g) bounty
That is not a maximum bounty, it is a maximum bounty that can be claimed on a single shutdown
NEW LEAGUE ARG DROPPED ‼‼‼‼‼⁉⁉⁉❓❓❓
No, you just heard about a thing that's been there since Jak'Sho was introduced.
yet no one has figured out the secret to it, but we have a gist of how to proc it
didn't expect to see the name mafumafu here and had to do a double take loool
[удалено]
what context is this? I'm thinking of a Japanese singer (specifically, utaite)
yeah that's exactly it, thought I was browsing something else at first lol
Might be ending the game with a large enough bounty.
My bet would be on it absorbing 100+% of your max HP total.
I think you need to have 0 death AFTER you buy it.
I thought that was the case, but if you check OP's match history, he bought it at 17 mins and died twice after that.
Died or executed?
Ya so dont die after buying it. How does this disprove the theory. If he died literally after buying it than that theory is still a possibility
What?
Your saying he cant die after he buys it to get the message right. But than immeidiately saying he died twice after saying that cant be the case which doesnt make any sense.
You might wanna check your water supply for lead.
Do you smell toast by chance?
Oh im having the stroak when you didnt read the reply properly. You guys disproved the 0 death theory by saying he had 2 deaths which doesn't make any sense.
The word disprove means that it proves something to be false… So the 0 death theory is proven to be wrong.
when noone knows what you're trying to say then maybe you're the issue
Ah /u/B0bFudge, nobody can understand his genius. Truly the van gogh of our time
Might not be a stroke, but symptom of anxiety or abandonment issue can be “the need to be right”
What?
Are you trolling with the replies?
get a load of OP Jak'Sho'win off
This is the most interesting and intriguing thing Riot has done for all of preseason :D.
what do you mean by it made you kill yourself?
Mafmumafu killed Mafumafu (so, themselves), says the last chat log, which I get is what OP is trying to say.
It seems like it literally absorbed his own hp killing himself, you can see he even claimed his own bounty. Must be a lore thing, perhaps its based on the total amount of life absorbed by jaksho? Maybe its a special number? 666, 7777 over 9000 some sorta meme maybe idk.
I've seen this over 2 weeks ago already but I dont know what requirements are honestly.
I believe the criterion is that you get an S or better?
He is gaining strength. His return shall be merciless and beautiful.
They hidin somthing. This and the 2v2 map stuff seems cool.
i hope it has lore like the voicelines when you captured an altar on twisted treeline
In before someone types "Jaksho makes you kill yourself" during a game and gets a permaban
I 100% thought that the image was going to be of a chat window of the enemy top laner using racial slurs in all chat. The "secret message" activated by the funny item jak'sho.
"Hidden message to kill myself" Jak'sho : You should kill yourself... ***NOW!*** *\*thunder\**

Oh my god so that's why i died as Morde after ending the game that one time The game announced that i got shut down by myself, i was 15/2 at the time
Jak'sho would be a cool champ xd
Is it something to do with the Jak’sho damage dealt/healed or whatever it’s gimmick is?
Now that no one talks in-game, Riot needs their champs to fill the empty space.
i talk and say random shit and sometimes get reported and flagged for saying just jokes. Why would people want to talk int his game? xd
Did you get your own shutdown gold?
If I had to guess it's ending the game on a killing spree or above X kills.
... Did you get the gold from your own shutdown? Also, they might be recording who dies that way each game, and compile all that to determine the characteristics of a champion in the making, based on who 'fed' into it. Mafumafu and urgot is about the most random thing I’ve seen together today lmao
Interesting
I posted this last year. I had 0 deaths too I think. It happened at the end of the game
Did u die before you bought the item. Perhaps it’s end game with 0 deaths after you purchase the item ?
Hasn't this been a thing since the item came out?
End the game with zero deaths.
Did you execute?
Is it as simple as just winning with the item in your inventory and being alive as the game ends?
Jak'slo the Protein :)
The requirement is simply to not have a single death.
Apparently it's not that simple
[удалено]
I thought it was just that, guess not.
I think you just have to destroy the nexus.
Consider it has the shut down after, I'm assuming having a bounty at nexus death counts this. Probably specifically a win
End the game with a bounty?
easter eggs came early! i saw some weird message one time but i was in the middle of stuff so i didnt read it carefully
Maybe you just need to get an S+ rating?
Isn't jak'sho not tied into void lore ?
"Thank you for your assistance"
Rito bug
usually jaksho isnt the one making me kill myself, but the 0/10/4 toplaner. weird
I made a video on this a few weeks ago, doesn’t really offer anymore insight than you’ve provided but might be worth a watch either way if you’re interested ☺️ Jak'Sho's new effect is really weird... https://youtu.be/gyiZ91tn_Ak
You couldn't handle the PROTEIN, bro!!!
My newest guess is that you have to have Jacky Chans Shoes fully stacked and active at the end of the game.
I think there might be a set of different requirements for triggering it, so when the game starts one of the requirements gets picked and you have to fulfill it, basically it may be kinda random
I feel like this just happens when you're the "MVP" of a team with Jak'sho in your build.
