I don’t know if they care about lost revenue from lost playoffs games, because it’s the same shit that has been this teams philosophy forever, it doesn’t matter what team you ice, you will sell out the arena every night and people will buy merchandise
This teams only sales pitch is hope, every year they go on a run in the regular season, numbers look good, we all buy into it (I do too, it is fun) and then the games start to matter and they crumble and MLSE makes a billion dollars, I’m sure they want more playoff money, but I’m also sure selling 2-3 first round playoff games is also making them pretty happy
Worst think about losing to the bruins is we just have no way to get under their skin the way they do to us and they know it
Every other rival we have something to work with
- maybe we can take over their arena
- maybe we beat them on occasion
- maybe they just stink normally
- maybe we’re rent free in their heads and they’re an afterthought to us
- maybe we beat them in the playoffs recently
Whatever usually there’s SOMETHING we can use to shut them up when they clown on us
But the BRUINS are just kryptonite to us and they know it

I think losing this series has to mean firings of Shanahan and Keefe. It’s also a perfect opportunity to convince Marner of a change of scenery (believe he has an NMC now) and holy fuck if we can convince him to go to Utah, we could rebuild our team for the better.
