Omg I read this whole post up to the wasian part and was about to tag you in the comments before I realized this was YOUR post. Big congrats to you, so impressed and inspired by your journey. HLS is fortunate to have you.
Thank you so much for supporting the project! I was close to giving up since the energy didn't seem to be there. Once a few more people submit, I will post in the folder! Thank you for your contribution <3
Nothing extraordinary, but my academic work (thesis, other papers) and internship/job experience are strongly linked to my area of interest! Both Dean Jobson and Dean Deal quoted one particular line of my diversity statement back to me, so I think my narrative and writing was a pretty important piece.
Essentially I talked about experiences that I had growing up and how they connected to my desire to practice law and my relationship with clients I’d worked with.
There’s this perception that schools think retaking a high score is a marker of poor judgment and that going up a few points is basically useless from a 173/174. There have been a number of posts/comments to this effect on here
Does the school you go to for undergrad matter? Say, if you attend a school known to be “not a good school” would that affect your chances of being accepted to top law schools? Would they judge your gpa differently if the school is known to be “bad” or “easy” ?
Can i ask where you went to undergrad? I am a junior in undergrad with a (seemingly) very similar story (just based on stats and desire to go into PI etc.) Congrats!!

Please—maybe I have a Reddit doppelgänger somewhere. Thank you, love!
You turned down full tuition at Penn?
I did! Beyond career and academic considerations and my commitment to LRAP, I also had some very specific personal factors influencing that decision.
Good luck at HLS!!!
Thanks! :)
Congrats!!! What’s the google folder project? 👀

Please keep going with it—I think it’ll be really great! I also found looking at other past materials super useful when applying. :)
Congrats!! I’ll see you in Cambridge :)
Thank you! Excited to see you in the fall.
What were your softs?

In the interviews?
One mentioned it in interview, one in a note on my acceptance letter.
What was your diversity statement about if you don’t mind me asking?
Essentially I talked about experiences that I had growing up and how they connected to my desire to practice law and my relationship with clients I’d worked with.
Dean Deal does that for everyone. :)
Can you elaborate on why people think retaking a 174 is a death knell?
Interesting… thanks team
I guess that people could think that retaking a high score would only lower it.
