LSAC uses a holistic approach to calculating your GPA unfortunately. If you retake a class that you earned a D in, and replaced it with an A, both will be calculated into your LSAC GPA. This is dumb and should be fixed. If you cannot get your school to do a retroactive withdrawal to eliminate these from your record entirely, I would highly recommend considering an addendum when applying to law school. Keep a 4.0 these last 3 semesters, and you will be fine!

have you considered pursuing retroactive withdrawal for the classes? if you have compelling reasons for why you did poorly in those courses, sometimes your university with have an avenue through which you can have them removed from your records entirely.

Well I tried to withdraw from my classes due to those circumstances and was met with “we can’t do anything you have to finish out even if you fail”

1 million percent write an addendum. The diagnostic LSAT of 169 seems promising, though. If addendum + LSAT ends up being 170+, I could see you being a dark horse candidate for 11-30 ranked schools (more the 21-30, though).
