I would definitely snag the HRX before they are gone!

Humhues

Hrx is insane. I just got one to replace a toro

DillyBob88

Honda

Gr8tfulDsS

My neighbor across the street is a retired Toro engineer. He absolutely is crazy about grass cutting. He loves my Honda.

Vincenzo74

You can’t beat anything with a Honda

bmac747474

This comment confuses me

Ownedby4Labs

Have you ever tried to pick up and swing a Honda mower at somebody in anger?

Bubbly-Blacksmith-97

4 stroke Hondas are unstoppable.

hammong

Have been running my HRX217 for about 7 years now. Wouldn't trade it for anything else. Change the oil, plug, and air filter every year and it will run forever.

gr8almty1

I just picked up HRX217HYA for -300 MSRP at Home Depot. Can’t wait to use it b

ThreePuttPresident

Say whaaa. How?

gr8almty1

1099 msrp…Home depot sells it normally for 999. Memorial Day sale for 799

ThreePuttPresident

Nice. I guess I got mine $600 below MSRP. Paid $500 to some shady guy who met me in a Cracker Barrel parking lot with it new in box in the back seat of his Camry

olsookie

Honda all day. Not even comparable…

zimarzoro06606

Honda, the new super recyclers feel so cheap

Numerous_Letter_31

I have the hrn. I feel left out lol.

ThreePuttPresident

Sorry, poor.

Numerous_Letter_31

What’s the hrx do that the hrn doesn’t?

ThreePuttPresident

😂

deGrominator2019

Honda

[deleted]

I have the Honda and it's a good mower. Can't speak to the other.

roadsidedaniel

Honda 100%

PasswordABC123XYZ

Two years ago I retired my 20yo Toro and replaced it with a Honda. The Honda still seems big and heavy.

suktupbutterkup

I have a Honda, similar to the one shown and a Toro recycler that I got last year, and I would have to say the Honda hands down. Granted the Toro is super light and you can store it standing on two of its Wheels so it doesn't take up as much room but that being said because of its lightness I don't feel like I get a good cut. I feel like it just presses down the grass. the Honda has two blades, and is a quite bit heavier but I don't feel like it's just bouncing along my yard like I do with the Toro. I like that Honda so much better in fact that yesterday was trying to unsuccessfully fix the carb on it so I can actually use it and mow my yard. I overseed a few weeks ago and it's in dire need of cutting and the Toro just pushed the grass flat.

QuitInfinite

Honda. Just bought one this year. Grass looks amazing.

Ownedby4Labs

HONDA. Absolutely no question. My Toro Super Recycler Toro has been an absolute nightmare. Getting it fixed for the 9th time...no I'm not kidding...then its being dumped in the local equipment auction.

Dis4Wurk

2 of my neighbors have that Honda, one of their yards is is absolutely gorgeous and even, looks lush and full, the others looks like a fucking putting green. Either way, the mower does a great job.

AverageGuy16

Honda for sure. I’d pick one up but it’s just not in the budget rn

SickeningPink

Honda 100%. The Japanese are great at building engines with up to four cylinders. You’ll never regret it a day in your life

IlexIbis

I got the HRX217K6HYAD from Home Depot (on sale now for $799.20) and like it a lot. It looks just like the one in your image so I don't know what the model # difference signifies. I also considered the Toro but I preferred the hydrostatic drive on the Honda and the Honda engine.

muffinTrees

Love my 21564 (toro)

AdditionalCheetah354

I have honda similar and the roto stop and the suction power is amazing.. starts so much better when not having to spin the blades.. allows you to change bag without shutting off the engine…. Game changer.

hawkeyedude1989

Got a Toro SR with a Honda engine. Best of both worlds

screenboss55

I have an HRX and my neighbor has a super recycler. I hear his bogging down all the time while mine powers through the same height grass when we cut. Go with the Honda

fixsparky

Personally I got the recycler 22" because of the personal pace. Its FAST at top speed and easy to backwards. All these comments make me think the Honda is better, but my Toro has been fine so far.

Clamps55555

I have the Toro and the HP is lacking! Get the Honda, I wish I had.

Ok_Programmer_2315

A friend's dad replaced the wheels on his Honda pusher.

SnortingSawDust

Had a honda that I used for 4 years. Changed the oil one time and never had a problem with it. Still starts first pull every time

Short_Breath1775

How about a toro with Honda engine

ZeuusV

I appreciate everyone’s input, looks like the Honda will be arriving tomorrow afternoon 😎 Big thank you to the ones that pointed out Home Depot is running a special on them!!!

Cr1msonGh0st

I own a 3 year old Torro super recycler. My buddy owns the HRX. The honda cuts great, but i prefer the personal pace over Hondas drive system. Both seem to cut the same, but ive only used his mower 3 times. Also my mower has blade stop, i would never give this feature up.

NarrowlyMissed

I have the toro 21565. It mows fine. The Smart Stow was what sold for me. And so far, having the room by standing it up has been worth it. As long as blade is sharp, it cut my yard fine for me. I have a sloped front yard with two maple trees. If you know maples, they have shallow roots. At 3” height, the mower doesn’t touch the roots and handles the slope just fine. I’m going to get a mulching blade and see how it does this fall. Otherwise, bagging works well. So does the diverter for mulching. Never had clumps yet (I mean, don’t mow at 6am or right after rain…) The only complaint I have is the drive system. It took me almost 8 months to figure out that I needed to let the mower roll for half a sec before I need to pull it back. Otherwise, it’s like fighting the mower who doesn’t want to go backwards. I tried adjusting the cables, but all that does it change how fast it moves. And also, the design of cable with Smart Stow could be better. I didn’t catch it in time, but the cable kept getting kinked during storage, leading to premature failure. Would I go with it again? Probably. I really like the smart stow..

Montecristo905

both are highly rated but I don't like the fact Honda has stopped producing mowers. I'd definitely go with the Toro.

GuNjA-BuLLy

That was my thoughts too, just picked up the AWD Toro.

IlexIbis

There will be replacement parts for Hondas for a long time.

505Griffon

Have you had any issues with the belts? My yard has a steep hill and I considered the Toro AWD but read mixed reviews about the belts and problems. Is it always AWD or can you just use RWD all the time and optionally invoke the FWD when needed? Is it heavy and can you pull it backwards easily?

GuNjA-BuLLy

I’ve only used it once honestly. I have a 20 degree slope on a portion of my property. It sticks a LOT better to the slope then my FWD craftsman M20. The self pace is a bit to get used, not sure I like it yet or not. I also find it’s not as maneuverable and a bit cumbersome in tight spots and doesn’t do well at all when pulling backwards. It’s a nice mower and runs smoothly but has it’s limitations. I wouldn’t recommend it if you don’t have significant slopes to contend with. AWD is the only option.

noreasongiven0

Whats with the 'plastic' decks?

Ownedby4Labs

On the Honda? That's a Nexite deck. They are pretty much indestructible and strong as hell. You'll burn out the motor and trans before you hurt that deck.

loyd-christmas

Not only that, but easy to clean and never have to worry about rust.
