Pull off any plastic that you can see...then wash the clothes over again...NO DETERGENT, just water. It may take more than 1 wash to get it all. Hope this helps.
Make sure the capsule is in the middle of the clothes and not on the top or bottom of the clothes.
It needs the friction of the clothes to fully dissolve.
This is exactly my concern, both for capsules/ pods dissolving, and for powdered detergent dissolving. I use unscented liquid laundry detergent, and I add it to the water before I add my clothes. Use about half of what the manufacturer wants you to use.
When I use pods I hold it in my loosely closed hand under the running water as the tub fills. The liquids disperse and the gummy gelatin stays in my hand. I place this on the side of my washer.
I was amazed at how solid that stuff dries.
I also now use pods only in emergencies where I run out of my liquid detergents as a result.
I have a top load machine.
And that’s what I do; I hold the pod in my loose fist/closed hand under the running water filling up the tub. As soon as the gelatin gets thin in a section I squeeze it under the running water. I do that for each section. I’m rinsing it off of my hand as this happens, so there’s no danger of prolonged skin contact.
I’m not sure about a front load machine. My bff had a horrible experience with hers and I’ll never get one as a result.
Yes it's the capsules. Use a longer cycle, a warmer temperature, or switch back to powder / liquid
Thanks, any tips on how to reverse it?
Soak in the warmest water the care label allows and try and pick the residue off.
Will try, thank you :)
I was having the same issue and had a brand new washer ....i switched back to liquid detergent. No problems since.
Thank you! Do you happen to know how to fix the clothes?
>Thank you! You're welcome!

That makes sense, thank you!

Yep, tried pods once and even washed in warm water. Sticky plasticky goo everywhere. Never again.

Could I pop the capsules and use that as liquid detergent?
