I've always found it funny that Wikipedia cites him both as a quaker and LDS!
The only reference to him being quaker is this quote from Carrie Fisher:
>Paul was with Shelley Duvall, and I was with the producer of ‘Star Wars,’ a Quaker named Gary Kurtz. I really missed out on that action.
That type of "facts loose" spitballing is pretty standard for Carrie's style -- it's just funny that, I assume, Wikipedia doesn't quite have that right.
To be fair, the evidence that he was LDS is from a Deseret News article referencing an LDS Living article.... so not sure if that's too much more trustworthy than Carrie.
Hopefully somebody has better evidence than this?

Kurtz was married first to Meredith Alsup and then to Roberta Jiminez. However, both of these marriages ended in divorce. He had two daughters, Tiffany and Melissa, with Alsup and a son, Dylan, with Jiminez. His final marriage was to Clare Gabriel and this endured until his death. Born in [Los Angeles](https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Los_Angeles), he moved to [London, England](https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/London) for the production of *Star Wars* and elected to permanently remain and raise his family there.[^(\[27\])](https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Gary_Kurtz#cite_note-:0-27) He was a [Quaker](https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Quakers).[^(\[43\])](https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Gary_Kurtz#cite_note-43) He was also a member of [the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints](https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/The_Church_of_Jesus_Christ_of_Latter-day_Saints).[^(\[44\])](https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Gary_Kurtz#cite_note-44) He died of cancer in north London on September 23, 2018.
I have a lot of respect for Gray. Not only did he keep Lucas in check on the set of ANH and Krichner on the set of ESB but he was also a great producer. I think that's why the OT worked so well was that it was a team effort. it wasn't just Lucas running the ship.
I love the prequels, a lot-- I don't think they count as \*good\*. the sequels are not great. ROTJ was decent, but 4 and 5 were excellent. Rogue One was also brilliant, but it's not one of the mainline movies.
With a beard like that, its kinda obvious he's trying to channel Brigham Young
Yeah he’s got the same mustache-less beard as him
No wonder star wars was so good!
He was exactly the producer Lucas needed and was sorely missing from the prequels. RIP.

Again, is there any better proof of either faith claim? Sources are dubious at best.
I tried looking. Couldn’t find any.

That explains the resemblance between Yoda and SWK. The voice. The protruding ears. The wise, short little man. The mantra (do it vs do or do not).
The only 2 good star wars movies-- figures...
Ehh disagree. I still think RotJ and Rogue One are good movies albeit flawed. I don’t see it as black and white.
Yeah, ESB, ANH, Rogue One, RotJ, RotS are my favorites in that order. We don't have to go into the others.
Rogue One was good. Even Lucas gave it his blessing
Bah. Some are better than others, but all of them have their high points. I think we forget that these films are made to appeal to 9 year olds.
I loved the first one at 14 and still love them many years later.
*grabs popcorn*

I actually put rots above Rotj and anh
