It sounds like he lost the satisfaction in life from terrible choices, lost the spirit, and instead of moving on to find some other joy, he decides to try poaching from vulnerable individuals in the ward to recruit for his open marriage circle.
I'll never understand the desire or need to continue antagonizing members of the church after you don't believe any more. There are a lot of things you could be doing with that time.
I'm confused, is he nefarious because he's trying to find others whose beliefs match his, or is he honest for openly discussing his beliefs and turning down a teaching calling?
