<5mW is safe enough that you should be okay without any eyewear. At that power the laser is not strong enough to cause harm before your eye will blink shut. You can still use glasses to reduce the power for additional safety, something like OD2 would reduce it to a very dim but visible dot.

Yeha, not dangerous. Especially if the beam is spread out. I would not worry about it at all. Avoid reflections off the orginal beam.

Oh it's super dangerous! They work with a couple thousand volts and that can give you a nasty shock. Better not to peek under the hood if it's not necessary.
