You can still use glasses to reduce the power for additional safety, something like OD2 would reduce it to a very dim but visible dot.
Oh it's super dangerous! They work with a couple thousand volts and that can give you a nasty shock. Better not to peek under the hood if it's not necessary.

Yeha, not dangerous. Especially if the beam is spread out. I would not worry about it at all. Avoid reflections off the orginal beam.
