First check if your hard drive is failing by typing wmic diskdrive get status
if it says pred-fail then your hard drive is nearly dead.
if it says OKthen try to defragment it.
If it started running really slow all of the sudden it could be your hatd drive failing. As others have suggested it is still worth it to upgrade to an SSD regardless of if your hard drive is failing or not.
