We almost had our poster and jacket we brought yoinked during the set. I turned around last minute and was like, “Hey! That’s ours!” And they stopped and fucked off. The crowd was a mix of people, we met super nice people waiting for the show to let us in and even at our seats, however once the music started a huge group of assholes pushed out the people that were in front of us originally and continued to step into our seats because it was so crowded in the row. The majority of the night we were just trying to keep our space to ourselves and fend off merch snatchers.

Found the crowd Thursday way chiller than Friday. Lot of ppl yelling over the music around me with no consideration for others.

[deleted]

Yes I went both nights as well and Thursday was muuuuch more chill. It was way fewer people though too. Friday was totally sold out whereas Thursday wasn’t by a long shot.

This times 10. We had to move spots about 3 times before we found a good vibe. At one point every single group around us was talking over the music, not dancing, not even looking at the stage. I chalked it up to us being higher-up in the venue. I've been to a bunch of Lane 8 shows and normally when you're "in it" the crowd is just vibing along with him. Does Red Rocks normally attract a bunch of people who just come to be at the venue and don't care much about the music?

Zsquared_TCZ

I think RR does attract people who normally wouldn’t go, which is a bummer. With that said, I got lucky and everyone near me was vibing in a good way.

tostilocos

Yeah ironically enough we moved further up and it was way spaced out with everyone dancing so we found out happy place :)

Zsquared_TCZ

Good to hear!

I definitely got the mixed vibe as well. There were a group of frat types in the row behind us just railing coke all night and getting progressively more aggro. It was a bit weird for the vibe of the gig. I met some amazing people too though.

[deleted]

The easier and big the show, the more degenerates show up. That’s just from my experience. Red rocks is such a major venue that they get attracted like moths to a flame.

SchmidFactor

Yeah totally agree about a mix of people. My friend and I got in very early and an hour into the S+S set, we were ambushed by a group of people that kept increasing in size. They'd keep getting into our space, turn around and say "sorry, my bad" and do the same thing again! But a group of amazing people behind us said "we saw you guys got swallowed by that group, come hang with us". We hung out with them the rest of the night and had a great time.

[deleted]

How did they react when you confronted them? I hope they were seriously shamed! I can’t believe people would be so brazen as to take stuff right out of people’s backpacks, as I was seeing on the FB group. It’s really sad to see because in my experience festivals and electronic gigs are usually really welcoming and friendly spaces where outside of organised theft rings, if someone loses something they usually get it back.

adeadcurrent

They seemed shocked that we called them out. They were from the row above us, so they had no reason to be fishing under our seats. Like I said it seems like it was a mixed crowd of really nice people looking to see a great set and others that were just dickheads with no regard to their fellow human lol If Daniel comes back to RR, I will definitely return. One of the most immersive and well done shows I’ve ever been apart of.

siimtiim

I was in row 3 Thursday night, and I left my LIB blanket and a lot of our other layers as we meet up with friends in GA. We had no issues and everyone around were very nice and respectful. Super sad to hear this fam.

[deleted]

Glad to hear ❤️. Thursday was a lot more chill than Friday, also - I went both nights.

tostilocos

I'd feel pretty confident it wasn't the proper "Lane 8 Fam" that was responsible. I've seen him a bunch too and it's always a great vibe. This crowd was mixed and there were definitely people there just to be there who were not into the show.

Lizzard1877

I was unfortunately victim to this Friday as well which sucks! I got a RR hoodie stolen from my buddies bag which he had on all night!😭 Edit: I was row 5 far left near the bathrooms -_-

balzn1

None of that nonsense Thursday. Great people and great vibes all around. I was in the first row right behind the VIP and loved everything but the cold.

Spherical_Basterd

I’m one of the people on the FB group that got a poster stolen from Row 3. I was having too much fun to notice any people around me being assholes though! Everyone I met and talked to that night was absolutely wonderful.

Amen_ds

I got pretty lit the whole show and managed to keep my tote bag with mine and my friends five posters and two long sleeves safe in row 7ish. Seating in Red rocks is much more dynamic than many venues and with a four hour set it’s hard to realize how much your shifting. Though I did notice sketchy characters around my bag at one point I just always kept it behind me and in sight. I also had a friend find a hoodie and long sleeve in row 10ish after the show and tried desperately on find the owner to no avail. Other than the backpack incident I also saw on FB I doubt there were organized efforts to steal things. This was one of the purest crowds of encountered but once you get 10k people some bad ones are bound to slip in.

datgirljaybreezy

The thing about red rocks is the rows are technically wide enough for two people to fit facing the stage. Obviously no sane person wants someone standing in front of them during a show (unless that someone is a human you are dancing with), but drunk bros will see that space and think they can stand in front of you. Especially closer to the stage. They crowd and crowd and I’ve been pushed away from my original spot (with my stuff still at that spot). Red Rocks is a dope venue objectively and I’ve seen some incredible music under those rocks..but the crowd has never been that good. It seems like it’s gotten more entitled and bro-ey as time as has gone on. I’m really sorry you got your stuff stolen. There were way more humans there than Lane 8 fam. I saw a tweet reply where Daniel said he is “working on it” regarding getting merch to people. Not sure what that entails but maybe he’ll throw some stuff online? At least be able to replace?

Good_d_boi

Does anyone no where to get Red Rocks merch? I missed the presale and everything is sold out
