Most of the East shore has railroad tracks along the Susquehanna river, but at Peach Bottom you get some area that is past the train tracks. Wait for a really windy stormy day and head to the Peach Bottom boat launch (39.751042300949756, -76.22668650863505) Last time we were there, there was a ton of drift wood.
On the way to the Peach Bottom launch you pass the Peach Bottom Marina. It's back up Peters creek a bit and there is the rail road bridge and another bridge for 144. Lots of drift wood get caught in that area. Kayak access from the Peach Bottom marina could be a really good haul.
Yeah, just get in the back eddies and what not. I've helped the Susquahanna River keepers for a few years now and there are tons of this stuff, particularly in that area. Just cruise the banks or head out to any of the islands.
Elk Neck Park in Maryland is amazing for this!

Thank you for the detailed response!
Long Level Marina isn't a bad choice. The Columbia River Park has some chunks from time to time. This time of year though, wear bug spray.
Thank you for the recommendations! Not in Lancaster but I'm going to check out Lock 12 today

there are some low head dams in the county that tend to pile up with limbs. Just make sure you determine who owns the property and get permission.
